I recently purchased the Mix Create after watching Alpha Gaming do a couple videos on these devices. I am very happy with it. I was messing with my boys when I routed my music through the voice chat mic. Works great with sounds effects routing too. The routing table is very clear and easy to use. The device itself is very user friendly and audio meters for each device are easy to understand as well. My only suggestion for the Mix Create is to have a separate "mute to" option when doing a quick press on the knobs, and allow it for something other than changing the personal mix output. This way I can "mute to all" with one button, and "mute to audience" or "mute to chat" with the other for the same device. Other than that, it's a spectacular device. Great job with it.
Would love to see the option to change the titles of each channel. I'm sure you're adding things all the time and it's probably in the works. Once these are available in Canada I'll definitely be picking one up
for whatever reason that option is only available on the mix. (the cheaper model) I'm sure there is a technical reason they decided not to add this. Maybe it has to to with keeping the names standard for routing purpose or something. Whatever the reason is, and until becan decides to address this, seems incredibly short sighted from the outside looking in. This is one of the major gripes people have about the device.
As a software designer, I have extra appreciation for the depth of features your team has put into this. Would love to see the differences between the basic Mix and the Mix Create.
Nice tutorial. What I wish is a tutorial about Mixer and OBS. All vids are talking about this product is for streaming, but no one shows an example how to connect it to streaming software like OBS.
I believe Alpha gaming did. It's pretty simple though, you just pick the right line in for your mic/aux and it's just one source in obs and everything gets controlled from the mixer
@@AnymMusic if you add an audio source, all of the beacn mixs you have added appear as well so u can make it into different tracks in ur editing software and stuff
Love the depth of this tutorial! Like I mentioned in the discord server, I can't wait to get my hands on a BEACN Mix Create mainly for the routing table, I've always wanted to split things up that way. Also I love the 2 audio outputs to both headset and speakers. Who likes doing post on a headset right?? lol 💪🔥
loving how similar this is to the GoXLR. going to have to purchase this in the near future. I do have one question and its if i can use a XLR mic? is it required to use USB mics?
So this is a controller, NOT an interface. For example, if you had a USB interface that had XLR and 48V Phantom Power, The Beacon Mix Create controller would literally control the settings if you set it up to do so, but there are no microphone plugins or DAC chips on this as it's just a controller. hope that helps! (6 months later lol)
Would like to see audio filters added to software such as ducking, compressor, eq, limiter, etc for seperate channels. As with the current Beacn Mix Create setup option removes that ability.
in the process of planning new setup. happy to have bought a beacn mic and mixer. i arranged my layout based on the mic being plugged into the usb-c port on my motherboard. then read that you have to plug it into the mixer(?) this has kinda messed up my cable management. is it possible to as intended just plug the mic into the mobo without negatively effecting any functionality? thanks

What in this video can you not do with the Mix that you can with the Create? I'm not seeing many videos like this for the Mix and it's unclear how the feature differences play out in a functional sense.
Basically if you don't stream or if you have never asked your friend to listen to something you are listening to, you don't really need the mix create. However, if you are an ARMA3 pilot and need everyone in the back of your helicopter to hear fortunate son blasting as you drop them in to a hot LZ, you need the mix create. That should clear it up for most people but details below. The mix is designed for people who only need or want to control their own audio and will never think about sending what they are hearing to another person to hear, like an audience. Think of the mix as a simple device that gives you a way to separate your audio sources and control them individually without having to click the speaker down on your windows menu bar. The mix create does all that but adds in options to send audio to different outputs like you saw in this video. So, with the mix you have no ratio locks, no routing tables and no scroll for more pages if you have more than 4 inputs. If you have ever used voicemeter think of the mix create kind of like a very limited and stripped down version of voice meter.
This isn't something we're considering. We designed the 2 products for very specific purposes. We even priced them as similarly as we could so the choice comes down to the features you need, not the ones you can afford. We expect to be caught up on BEACN Mix Create demand soon!
Hey quick question about the beacn microphone.. with the high impedance mode would i be able to plug in the DT990 into the microphone and it would power the 250 ohms ??
Hi :) I have a technical question, do you know how to exclude music the VOD twitch for example with this BEACN mix create ? I've tried for a while to find a solution, hopelessly. The Beacn mix create creates 2 separate mixes (personal and audience) and i don't know if we can create another mix for the music... And hello from France btw
I was so excited to get this...but software has been nothing but buggy and always ends up crashing after a few mins. Really unfortuante, because it's a well made product and I really wanted to like it. Might have to return if I can't get this to be stable. :(
In the future can the beacn mix have the same advanced software as the create, the main reason I bought the beacn mix was because I thought it was going to have the same software as the create!
We designed BEACN Mix and BEACN Mix Create to operate differently and gave them hardware to showcase that. BEACN Mix cannot control submixes, paging, or mute modes and therefore we wont be extending the Mix Create software to the BEACN Mix. This also went to our pricing scheme where we tried to price them as closely as possible so you purchase the mixer you want and not just the one you might be able to afford.
wish you could rename the faders and add more than whats in that list. Because I use two browsers not just one, so being able to rename browser and add it more than once would be great. Even to have more than one hardware renamed.
This request pops up from time to time, and there's a few critical decisions that we have to make. 1. Rename the faders. On BEACN Mix Create, we opted to lock renaming of the faders because our beta users found it confusing when you could change the name of a knob like "System" to be "Browser 2" but it not change in Windows. With the current Windows tools, you cannot automatically rename a source in Windows and that parity is important. Had we knowing that going in, we probably would have designed the UI differently to make knob renaming less unintuitive. Finally, even if the knob name isn't the correct for your source assignment, you can still see the source name below the knob name, so while you can't have 2 "Browser" knobs, you can still separate your browsers and understand which is assigned where quite easily. We may revisit knob renaming down the line when we have more bandwidth to retool the UI. 2. Adding more devices. This was originally our goal, but we found out pretty early that creating a dynamic driver isn't really something that is supported by Windows or the driver manufacturer. Unfortunately when it comes to the driver, it's not a one-size-fits-all. Some only use 4 sources, and others use all 8. What we did find is that too many sources felt overwhelming so we tried to find a good sweet spot. However, we do have an idea for a "Pro" driver that would theoretically give you multiple additional Aux channels that would be renamable in the app-but not timeline on if/when we'll start working on that. I know this doesn't really help your original comment, but hopefully understanding that it is something we've sunk engineering and development time into to get to where we are means something!
@@beacn yeah thats all understandable, I think being able to long hold down the right arrow should switch profiles so it feels like you have more 8 then faders. If possible adding text on the screen to show what profile you are on would be helpful. Love beacn products, I'm also a stock holder so its reassuring to me that the company responds like this with such an indepth response. Can't wait to see what is to come, the future looks bright for beacn.
It sounds like you're adding "BEACN Mic" into your applications instead of "Voice Chat Mic" or "Audience Mix" (depending on your application). Doing that will fix it.
