*Hopefully this can help you or anyone reading this:* If you mute the mic in the audience mix, you should be able to add the mic directly in OBS and treat the mic and audience mix separately like you want. This also goes for the Wave Link software (tho they released an update that can exclude the mic from the audience mix), and the Avermedia Nexus. Also, using a cheap midi controller like the Korg Nanokontrol2 or Worlde Easy Control 9 with all the faders and knobs they have, using the WinCapAudio plugin (what was shown that let you add individual windows like Chrome as volume sources in OBS) with the Midi-Mixer software and its OBS plugin will let you have fader/knob control of any of those audio sources inside of OBS. Hopefully the 2nd half of this can help out in that future video too :).
voicemeeter can send multiple audio inputs in and out of anything, and is super powerful, especially if you need to use ASIO drivers for low latency but voicemeeter being difficult to setup and use is super understatement KEKW OMEGALUL true
did you end up getting one? if so what do you think of it? i currently have a goxlr and the sliders are starting to mess up and im thinking of switching to this.
@@UNCULTUREDSTEVE I've owned one for a while now and it's amazing. Great for splitting sources and especially if you swap between speakers and headphones a lot.
i found them at the twitchcon convention and i wanted one so bad however you are soo right!! they could be doing a bit more to help streamers out and they will sell out 100% also the master slider would be a HUGE plus for them, maybe i will wait it off until they upgrade their product. ty for this video!!
This was very helpful, I'd been debating if I ought to switch from Elgato Wave link, but seems that what I currently have is better than having to buy 3 devices for full control over my audio. I'd seen that the beacn studio was coming out to interface with XLR mics but i wasn't sure on switching till now, I'll save my money.
honestly the most important part to me (which you're the only UA-cam guy to have mentioned this.... i think) is the recording on separate tracks. that's whats stopping me but i really want this! otherwise ill stick to voicemeeter aka headache and a stream deck to control it.... hope beacon sees this, fixes it and truly takes over as a steamer got to!
Was really interested in the mixer since I gave up on voicemeeter. Looking forward to the next video and really loved this review, waiting for full software makes a lot of sense.
This cheered me up, wasn't sure if Id made a good choice buying the mic. (had to get white, they ran out of black) Now I just need a boom arm. Any suggestions?
You actually can separate the audio outputs into obs with the wave software - so you can put the audio outputs as different audio sources in obs but u just can’t control the volume with wave link anymore for the audience (but u can still use it for your personal mix)
@@nuttylmao true true, I already have a wave mic but have to say the software can be so GLITCHY sometimes! I have to reset it and set it up again a few times a year 😂
Damn dude, great video, I was going to pickup a mix create, but I’m having second thoughts now, that it’s all one audio source for obs, because like you I have scenes with no mic, no game and some sweet stream safe music. I’ve also been thinking of adding a separate music channel for my stream…
if i were to migrate from a goxlr + xlr mic setup, would you recommend keeping the goxlr as an audio interface for the xlr mic and then let the beacon mix create handle everything else?
Still watching the video and loving it, but wanted to jump in here. You mentioned you couldn’t separate out the audio sources by scene with both the Beacn products and Wave products. Is this not considering that you can do Audio Input/Output Captures that point directly to the Game or Music sections of the mixing programs? I actually do this with my Wave XLR to only have the music channel on my BRB screen incase I forget to mute my microphone before the scene change. I’m sure you’ve seen this and the extension you mentioned is a great solution, just wanted to offer this as a solution as well.
Yes you can, but then you relinquish all your audio control to OBS anyway. The dials will have no way of controlling your audio. At that point, just download Win Capture Audio. It's completely free. My video will cover this (as well as how you can control your audio with a Stream Deck/phone).
How does implementing audio ducking work for this device? Because that’s nearly a dealbreaker for me, even though I LOVE the rest of its functionality.
I love the Mix Create but the issue with the product is the lack of stock they have all the time. I wish I could buy one of the black MIx Create but I always end up getting walled by a Out of Stock sign. Yeah, they're small and all of that but man.. even pre-ordering would be appreciated.
I'm still planning to get this but I do agree with all of your suggestions. Personally I feel like they should have lengthened the screen on the Mix Create to make it look more pleasing.
Yeah it's a really odd shape. It's ultimately a logistics issue. They sourced a boatload of already manufactured, old displays. It's a lot more expensive to manufacture a tonne of custom sized displays.
A little warning (and would be nice to see if there is a fix) about the Win-Capture-Audio, it doesn't play well with Windows 11. I tried everything when I upgraded my PC, and it looked like it was working and the levels were lighting up as if it were, but overall when I recorded or streamed it was our silence. So, if you do a video on it, I'd love to see if you run into the same problem or if you find a fix. It works fine on all the Windows 10 computers I have though.
Pages are a very recent update. You probably mean folders. It had folders, but you couldn't put folders within folders. If I run out of ideas for videos, I'll consider it!
I was doing some research if this was worth buying, just so everyone knows, BEACN is able to multitrack with obs as seen here ua-cam.com/video/axsh-2Koq6Y/v-deo.html
I really like the mic, but with the mix (and create) I feel like they're trying to be a bit too fancy for what's actually needed, also the create looks super dumb with that weird side thing. If they were to release a version of the mix create without the big screen and maybe focus the cost of that screen into some nice mechanical sliders or more buttons or whatever, I'd be all over it.
If this company make the software avaible for Linux, they won, literally. A linux user can't use Elgato proprietary software just because they deciced to NOT support linux users, that's riddicolous. I will sell all my stuffs about Elgato if this company will suport Linux. It's sad to be limited to windows only because we don't have support for devices we paid for. Yea glad I got my money back for this. You cannot even change volumes per scenes in SLOBS. If I have 5 scenes with different music volumes. I mean all you need is FREE VM & SLOBS (sliders) pretty much never have to touch anything else but your own headphone audio

Costs more than the Wave:3 so no thanks. Like you said, another overpriced product leaning on the growing popularity of streaming. I'd recommend the Wave:3 any day over this where the software is included. Sure you don't get the hardware and physical buttons/knobs, but you get a damn good Mic and software for less money.
