    Hello pretty lady! This video is exactly on spot for me! I've been looking for an invisible zipper foot for a week and now I feel confident about using a regular zipper foot. I'm going to try it on a not so special pillow first because I have some beautiful upholstery material that my mom had stored and I don't want to mess it up. My sister and I found it, cleaning out the house to sell, as both my parents have passed. There's enough material for us both to get one pillow. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience in such a simple way for a beginner like me to understand. 😊❤

    great video, very helpful. Thank you
    The only thing I would add is "sew press, sew press" meaning that all of those seams should've been set by pressing the seams either open or to the side before turning the pillow over. Can even use a tailor's tool to press the points of the corners too.

    Thank You So Much for sharing this video. I've always wondered where, exactly, (on the zipper) you are supposed to sew a zipper on. I appreciate your help and advice.

    I thought you should always make your pillow cover a little smaller then the actual pillow so you have a nice plump pillow. You cut fabric 20-inch for an 8-inch pillow but only sold 1/2 inch on each side equaling a 19-inch pillow cover for an 18 inch square pillow

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  Місяць тому

      You can make it smaller if you want or buy a bigger pillow to make it fluffier!

    Great instructions! If your zipper is too long, can you just trim it to size?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can! add some stitching to make a new zipper stop and just make sure you don't accidentally pull the zipper pull off!

    Sooo how did the plastic zipper teeth not melt tgether from the iron ?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  3 місяці тому

      The zipper can withstand the heat of the iron.

    I have a cushion with an inverted/ invisible zipper, how do I unzip it to wash the cover?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  11 місяців тому

      After doing a little bit of research, my guess is you have a concealed zipper or a child locked zipper? Try this: www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/comments/j83adg/what_is_this_weird_locked_zipper_i_tried_to_unzip/

    Love this video. Question. It looks like you are ironing the zipper on the teeth. Is this correct? If so, will the teeth melt?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  2 роки тому +1

      Yes you can iron on the zipper teeth. I have ironed over zipper teeth over 100 times and I've never seen the zipper teeth melt.

    What size zipper are you putting in the 18x18 pillows?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  2 роки тому +1

      I used an 18 inch zipper but you could go up to a 20 inch zipper

    You are covering an 18 inch pillow, but cut your fabric 20 inches. Doesn't that make the pillow case too large?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  6 місяців тому

      There is a 1/2 inch seam allowance on each side which reduces the pillowcase by 1 inch. You'll get a pillowcase that is 18x18 or 19x19 in the end.

    Can you use 14” size invisible zipper?

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  7 місяців тому

      You can. It will just create a smaller hole to put the pillow form through.

    • @HeatherHandmade
      @HeatherHandmade  Рік тому

      You can do a 18 x 18 inch pillow form for an understuffed look or a 20 x 20 inch pillow form for an overstuffed look. The pillow ends up being about 19 x 19 inches when finished.
