I thought I was the only one who couldn’t stand having my pillow squirt out of its case during the night so I went hunting for a tutorial for this very thing. Found yours and it worked great! Now the family has asked me to install zippers on their pillows. Who knew this is one of life’s little irritants?
This is a great idea. I came to your video to help me put a zipper in the top of a fabric Kirby vacuum cleaner bag so I could just empty it and not throw it away. Think I'll put some zippers in our pillowcases also. Thank you!
ive watched several videos and yours was the ONLY one that showed how to add a zipper to a pillow when it has already been finished. so great info and now i think i can do it! 👌🏻 also, in reading a bunch if other information, i read that you should stitch the zipper on by using the ~same~ direction both ways so as to avoid bunching or pulling when zipping...🤷🏻♀️ but with this example of it being previously constructed, probs isnt possible. also, for future reference and constructive feedback of this video, it would be that 80% of the first 4 minutes of this video were not necessary but otherwise a great video and kudos to you for sharing your skills. 🙌🏻
For a beginner such as myself, how do you determine the appropriate length? Do I buy the same length zipper as my pillow case? For a 20" length would you do 18 or 20"?
@@sexualbutterfly As best as I can tell, you need a zipper that is slightly longer since it goes from pillow seam to seam and then she leaves the extra tail length tucked inside.

Is the process the same with a regular zipper?

I was wondering the same thing,,,, did you get an answer on that?🌟
Here I am 9 months later with the same question and still no answer posted. Did you ever find out?

You can always get a longer one because the exte can either go within the pillowcase, or there’s a way you can sew the end together and trim it
