When you accrue bank points on your credit card, you can trade them for miles. You can also trade them for cashback. When a card advertises itself as 4 mpd, it is usually possible to get 2% cashback instead. Once you have converted your miles to KrisFlyer, you can also still use the KrisFlyer miles as cashback by buying things on KrisShop, or transferring it to Kris+ app to buy things with.
Hi Seth Tks for your sharing. It’s been helpful in understanding it. Btw u mentioned citi bank having promotion to allow members to buy Miles. Would u be able to provide us the link? Tks
Thanks for the insightful video. I wonder, now, how do cashback cards compare? Would love to see how they do and I'm sure many followers can then make an informed decision as to which is optimal. Thanks once again!
The value of cashback cards is straightforward since you get your rewards in dollars. I do intend to make a cashback vs miles video… that'll probably not change anyone's minds since it's practically a cat vs dog or iPhone vs Android debate at this point 😂
Yes buying miles through CardUp isn't that worth it but it also depends on the fee you pay vs the miles you earn. Some econ flights also make the value of miles quite high like the flight to SFO I mentioned.
Hi Seth, thanks for the very insightful video. May i ask if let say i managed to find a non-waitlist flight when redeeming my miles, does that means i will get a confirmed seat?

Do you get Miles with Citi Cash Back+ card using Citi Pay All?
Nope current promo is for their points cards only
Hi seth, which miles card would u recommend for overseas spend.
UOB Visa Signature gives 4 mpd but you need $1,000 min spend within the billing cycle
OK thanks!

If I am someone who only takes economy flight, then using cardup to earn miles seems not worth it?
for example OCBC N90 + cardup

When you buy SQ seat, you also got miles. The calculation didn't put that into consideration. So the miles worth even less 🙁
Yes that is true.

Yes you will pay the tax and your miles will be deducted immediately
@@Sethisfy Got it! Thank you soo much Seth for the reply. Appreciate it.
Too bad they now expire forcing you to use the points earned or forfeit it
Yes that's another downside of miles. Even before expiry they tend to be devalued
It seems you need about 100 KrisFlyer miles to get $1AUD value
Smart!
