  • very cool footage of a rather large and intense dust storm that I took while hiking Signal Peak above the Central Arizona College campus near Casa Grande Az.. This same storm is the one that rolled through Phoenix and made national news. I watched it from infancy and this is 40 miles or so before it got to Phoenix

I was always wondering if you can breathe in something like this or need googles and a mask?

You can breathe just fine. You might get some debris in your eyes though. Really the worst thing is low visibility so driving should be avoided and layer of dust everywhere. Every car in the valley that was outside in need of a carwash.

According to Bible history, it took the people in the Middle East thousands of years to turn it into a desert you see today. I took native Americans thousands of years to create some deserts in the West Coast. I will take European Americans less than 100 years to create a gigantic Sahara in the West Coast. This shows the power of massive deforestation and modern agriculture over ancient agriculture under the Mediterranean climate with hot dry summer and cold wet winter. Well done!

The lower Sonoran desert is far from being a Mediterranean climate! It's been a midlatitude desert for many thousands of years.
What areas in the West coast do you claim that the native American tribes made into deserts? I'm aware of the climate shifts due to the Ice Ages, but man had nothing to do with those.
I fail to see where in the Bible it provides any claim that man is desertifying the Middle East--that information is the work of scientists and historians.

Almost the entire West Coast is Mediterranean climate. You don't even know what Mediterranean climate means! It simply means hot-dry summer and cold-wet winter. Do a search on the internet, please!
I am not just talking about the West Coast; I should have included the Mid West steppe areas. Steppe is not a natural phenomenon. Steppe is a result of human deforestation and agricultural activities done by native Americans in the past. Do a image search for "steppe map" on google and you will see that current steppes in the world are almost all located north of existing deserts. Eventually, all these steppe areas will turn into deserts if humans do not change their agricultural practice and do massive reforestation.
How much archaeological research in the West Coast have you done or read? Go do some reading first cause there are an abundance of new archaeological research findings on the existence of pretty advanced native Indian societies (not tribes) in the currently arid or semi-arid areas in the West Coast and even extremely arid areas in Arizona, New Mexico, .... If you can't find any, then come back and I will help you.

I live in a Mediterranean climate--and grew up in one in Central California where the average summer high was about 21 C and it never snowed the whole time I lived there--so don't go telling me I lived in an area with "hot summers and cold winters", OK? It's more defined by getting whatever sparse rainfall they get during the cooler months.
Yes I know about how the Mesa Verda tribes( in a high, near DESERT climate--not Med) probably cut down too many trees in their local area and then had a megadrought drive them out of the area. That's one small area. What evidence can you give me for tribes in California doing the same to their landscape? Please give links to all this evidence you say you have--put up or shut up. You're making the claims--you provide the evidence. Don't tell me to go look for what you say exists. What--you think the native Americans tribes herded goats to ruin the land like in the Middle East>
