ohhhh that jazzy baseline is really solid foundation and rightly placed in the mix for my ears....I just have to try to stop clicking your uploads, mate. It either inspires me or knocks me back. Seriously, beautiful line.
Thank you very much, Am! I'm glad you like the bass. I stumbled upon that patch and it's been one of my go-to sounds when I want a non-aggressive bass.
I see your great music videos so often, that I decided to make a little research on that. Obviously two main factors are the reason: I watch UA-cam too much, you post your great videos too often. I really don’t know what to do with this information, but I’m glad these factors perfectly match.
Thank you! I actually made two tutorials about this. One on how I make my drum sounds: ua-cam.com/video/CUMi6zErxV0/v-deo.html and one on how I sequence them in 1 track: ua-cam.com/video/FIGjzzLLyU8/v-deo.html Hope you find them helpful!
Hey man, sorry for not checking your tracks out in a while. UA-cam doesn’t seem to have been recommending them : - ( Just thought I’d not seen you post anything in a while, and had a look on your channel, to see tons of new videos! Really enjoying this one, beats and pads are strong! That tempo change, god damn! Yup, think this is one of my favourites!
@@IvarTryti Haha, it’s cool man. You post new jams regularly, and they usually pop into my recommended feed. Eventually I’m going to notice if YT hasn’t recommended a fix of Digitakt/Digitone beats in a while! Keep making awesome music with the Elektron stuff and I’ll probably keep coming back until my ears stop working 🙂
Absolutely fantastic. You are such a talented musician. Do you process your music in any way? On sketch #19 it sounded like there was some sidechaining going on for example.
Thank you very much! I always record into FL Studio and run the signal through at least Maximus (a multiband expander) and a tape sim, usually ToTape6, though usually one or two more plugins for a bit of extra saturation and eq. I'm not using sidechaining here, but I think the sidechaining-ish effect you're hearing here is the Digitone's built in master overdrive, but exaggerated by Maximus. I often make the drums louder than everything else so they engage the overdrive/compression the most.
Thank you! I'm sound-locking specific trigs to play specific drum sounds on track 4. To make drum rolls, I save an arp version of the drum sounds set to 1/32 speed and lock that sound to the trigs i want drum rolls on.
Am I correct in understanding that you were recording at "half speed" for the melodic and chordal parts and then at "full speed" on the drum tracks? However you are doing it, you are taking it to the next level! :)
In this case all the tracks are at the usual 1x scale, but for the drums I've saved a normal version and 1/32 note speed arp version of each sound to the sound pool. This way I can get a nice drum roll by putting two arped snare trigs next to each other and p-lock the decay time to simulate gradually hitting the drums harder. The hihats have arp enabled at 1/16th speed, and they're playing on a different note to avoid voice stealing. This lets me play a bunch of hihats with only 1 trig :)
I still have the Octatrack, but it's so big and heavy in terms of workflow. I plan on exploring it more, but right now I've really been into the Digitone.
You are not only a true Digitone Grandmaster - you are also a great musician! As a musician, you have my biggest respect.
Thank you very much, man!
My Digitone is staring at me...
Dude, no kidding. Mine too.
I like how you start off all click-clacky in the beginning of your videos!
Also, a wonderful sounding jam.
Hehe, thank you! It's turned into a staple =D
I love how you create completely different vibes! Amazing!
Thanks a lot, Sebastian!
Whoa-that tempo change. Wicked!
Thank you!
Man, every time I doubt my digitone I remember you exist 😁
Haha, thank you very much Ciccio!
Nobody does Digitone like this guy. Fantastic!
Hehe, thank you!
Nailed it again. I love the chord transitions in this, the tempo switch sliding into the b section is amazing. So smooth! Hats off, mate.
Thank you very much, Miles!

All of the changes are so good...great chord and melody throughout, and the tempo shift and double-time percussion are awesome. Super inspiring!
Thank you very much, David! :D
Jesus, Ivan. This is fantastic. 🙏🏻
Thanks a lot, man :D
@@IvarTryti Apologies for the name, Ivar. Autocorrect!
Combining the two loops worked out really well. I think the variety it gave to the song made sure that "loopitis" was never a risk for this one.
Thanks! Those loops were fun to make, but hard to complete. Glad it worked out fine just lining them up together.
03:21 and onwards: pure magic ✨
Thank you very much! :D
Pound for pound the Digitone is the best synth out there
It's very interesting how you arrange this complete song, thank you for posting this amazing ideas on digitone 👌
Thanks a lot! Making full tracks on the Digitone used to feel like a novelty, but it really is a good way to compose once you get used to it.
Another Ace Ivar....Fine fine stuff Greetings from Amsterdam
I totaly agree with Marcelo! Greetings from Cologne
@@MrScheller Thanks a lot, you two :D
That's dope as always!!
Thank you very much!
You my friend would love to noodle the Analog Heat while playing.
Hehe, I've been interested in the AH for a while, but it's so expensive that it's hard to save up long enough :D
I picked up a MK1 for not too much. I want a second one tbh. One to run the Digitakt through and a master one for both didgis.

so chill
Thanks!
Fuck yes - make sure this one gets on your next LP / EP. Well done!
Will do! And thank you =)
So dope! Again!!
Thank you very much!
First patch sound like Interstellar Organ :D nice song btw
Thanks!
Love the drum sounds on this one - will try to emulate on my DN for sure!

Thank you very much, Howard! I'm glad you like it =D
really good
Thanks
Really amazing what you manage to get out of it
Thanks a lot, Andrew!
This box is really amazing and i master only 15% when i see a jam like this !
There's definitely a lot to get into with the Digitone :D
Nice!! Another masterpiece.
Thanks!

How in the complete hell do they get the digitone to do this I'm just amazed
Do you know who else makes music in this style other than disasterpiece? I'm really into it...
Thanks man, that is a welcome comparison!

Hehe, thanks :D
How do you manage to do ratchets?
Like jRPG games music from PSone🙂
Haha, thanks :D
