I haven't tried the Syntakt, but from what I've seen they have very different workflows and sound very different. I wouldn't be too worried about it :D
Im sure the syntakt is a great instrument and tool to add to ones arsenal, but from what I can tell it isnt really breaking any new eclectic ground. No doubt Ivar would unlock the magic though.

Thank you! I'm very happy with the drums on this one. The fun thing about making drums on a synth is that there's a fine line between it being a drum or a synth note. Lengthening the decay on the hihats turns them into a 16th note synth pattern =)
I wish "talent" was a feature you can get when you buy one of the Elektron machines. I'm still amazed with what you can do with just one of those little boxes. Cheers!

@@lockyp204 - I’m with you, Digitone as part of a larger setup must be more common than using it completely standalone. It really excels at polyphonic evolving pads. There’s also something really creative about fitting all your percussion onto one or two tracks using sound locks. Forces you into directions you’d normally miss.
Go for it! A lot of the sounds I like are so easy to sweep right past. It's like I don't fully appreciate a seemingly uninteresting sound until I've left the parameters alone for a good few seconds, only to realize that it's exactly what I was looking for. And thank you very much!

Thank you! I'm using the Digitone as my audio interface in Overbridge mode, but I'm not using the Overbridge plugin. I do this on all my tracks, and 99% of the time I just record a stereo track into FL Studio and apply some saturation, eq and compression in post. On this track I separated the drums track out from the main outs so I can sidechain the main outs to the drums in FL Studio. It's something I've started experimenting with lately, but it adds more steps that slows down my workflow so I'm trying to find a way to simplify the process.
Videogames spike your dopamine above baseline and make everything (like music making) seem less exciting or less rewarding, because rewards come so much easier in a game. My productivity has gone up a lot since I stopped playing them. Highly recommended.
Video games can be a huge time sink if you're not careful. I'm glad that making music is as fun for me as playing games =P. A lot of my musical influences are from video games and I'm pretty happy with my musical output, so I don't think I'd sacrifice games for more productivity

I'm almost at the end of my 2nd playthrough and I've only put out like 2 songs since it came out, so I feel that 😎 The sounds you make with the DN are just next level, this sounds like a fat analog and it's incredible. Syntakt is for sure awesome (and I have one coming) but it can't replace a DN.. Monophonic plus not nearly as powerful of a synth tone tweaking engine, but very powerful in other ways. Personally it's replacing my Digitakt, but that's because I don't like working with samples very much, so it'll be my new drum machine. Anyways love the track, grats on leaving the lands between long enough to do it 😉
Ohh, nice! I'm about 80 hours in and level 105, still haven't revealed the whole map yet. I've released two tracks since then, myself :D Thank you! The DN can do some really nice virtual analog type sounds when you stumble into the sweet spots. I've never used the Cycles or Rytm so I don't have any experience with the machines paradigm, so I have no idea how limited the sound design options are when you have 35 8-knob sound engines. It seems like a really nice and complete groovebox though, I'm definitely interested in trying it out. The Digitakt formfactor is my favorite too :D
@@IvarTryti Took me around 130 hours to beat, so you might still be awhile 😂 I was a big fan of the Cycles already (had one but sold it cause it was a bit limited for my purposes) so to me it feels like a big daddy upgrade to that and I couldn't be happier. The analog side is very nice as well tho, especially that filter and being able to put everything through it on the FX chain. I've made some crazy sounds in the couple hours I got to touch it and I'm very excited for it! That said, lots of people think it isn't as versatile, which I don't think is true personally but you sometimes have to be a bit creative to make sounds that don't sound like basic ones, but the "happy accident" pool is large. If they add a couple new features it'll be perfect (compressor and performance FX keys modifying sequenced trigs mode are the biggest two for me) Anyways, no idea if it would be right for you to be honest as it's a bit polarizing, but I sure do love it 👍
@@hexwavemusic Damn, that's a long time! Glad the game is far from over. Having a bunch of smaller sound generators instead of one "normal" synth seems fun, though. With the Digitone I can make new sounds forever, but because of that I never make a sound from scratch while working on a track. I imagine the machines is like picking a "preset" with macros already set up, so it's easier to actually make sounds from scratch without endless tweaking.

I really love it for the reasons you described basically, and I think it's going to be paired with my DN for a very long time. Plus the clap machine (which is amazing btw) can turn into a chainsaw/helicopter if you change the envelope to asdr, so why would you need anything else? I'm sorry I'm literally gushing about new gear in your video about alleviating gear lust 😂

I want to try other weapons but I'm so invested in that greatsword now. For the longest time I used the demi human spirit ash (the one with 5 screaming monkey men), but recently switched to a banished knight with two swords. And you? 😁
@@IvarTryti I went Dex + Int and fling gravity stones like they're going out of business : ) Bloodhound's Fang is a killer sword you can get not too difficult. That new banished knight Spirit Ash you have is a tank, definitely upgrade and use him to take aggro and damage while you attack bosses. I'm in the capital Leyndell now getting wrecked every few minutes. Lots of fun 😅

Hi Ivar, i have a question i have a project which i like to use for jams, but my issue is that i cant mute the tracks anymore, i checked the func+bank modes but that doesnt change anything and also i cant use the keys on a track, so the only thing i can do is play the patterns. Any idea what i messed up here?
