Fantastic to see External routing still. Thanks so much for that

I prefer the looks of the gen 1 better. Found a gen 1 141 complete with the Olins for 2400 us and a gen 1 161 frame and shock for 950 us. Bought both.

That kink in the top tube is gonna have to grow on me.
Everything else looks great though, really lovely specs overall, except for maybe the trunnion shock, but I guess you can't avoid it with the shock in that position if you don't want to compromise in stroke.
Also; is the weight on the 141 frame at 4.8KG without shock correct? Seems a lot higher than it was in the last gen.

Looks better than the wavy top tubes like on the Ibis Ripmo. Those things make the bike look like a beach cruiser.

Same....never age well and I have an aversion to them in general.

Why the kink in the top tube? Is it really necessary?

This helps to improve the strength and longevity of the frame which we wanted to ensure was a focus on the new steed

@@PrivateerBikes pity it tourned out that way, the prototype looked that little bit nicer :P

Not a fan either. Deal breaker.

I agree 100%. That’s why I bought gen1. If you can find them get them. The only benifit from the gen2 is being able to mullet the 161 in my opinion if that’s your thing.

Also, Good to see a bike brand click on to how ISCG tabs should be, should be external from the main frame. Normally id run without a guard because ive broken frames in past instead of bending a cheap chainring...

This is whatvall manufacturers should look at . No stupid headset cable routing and especially no idiotic price for the full bike well done 👏

Anybody ride a Privateer? I was looking at a commencal meta v5 but apparantly they creak like fffk which is unacceptable. Not a fan of the curved / bulging top tube. They seem to date fast.

Don’t no what everyone’s problem is with the toptube. I think it looks great

yes, the bikes are amazing! I just do not like the linkage - probably it is so stiff and so good but it looks to me so ugly.

It just does not look good. Sure it rides good but the Top tube yikes.

I just think quality built full suspension modern bikes should have internal cabling, it's just a much cleaner sleaker look, in my opinion 🤪

Yea then you have a pointlessly finicky cable change

    • @michaelscott6316
      @michaelscott6316 5 місяців тому

Internal routing is getting worse with stupid headset routing keep it simple who gives a shit where the cables are when you're shredding yer bike
