When Antoine starts conducting you know the food is amazing! A montage of him conducting his way through food with a classical background would be pure joy 😊
I will actually be in the region in June; train from Paris to Dijon, renting a car there and traveling through Beaune to a little VRBO near by. This video gave me a glimpse into the treat for which I’m in store! Wow! Thank you for being OUR tour guide around this amazing country of yours!
I advise you to visit the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin in Dijon. You can try some local and french food as well as all types of wine. It's 10-15min from the train station.
Greetings from Buenos Aires! After watching you enjoying a wonderful lunch, I felt hungry and the best thing I managed to do, on a chilly autumn morning, was some nice coffee (the real thing, not that rubbish called "instant coffee") and toast (with plenty of butter). I raised my cup and said! "Vive LES FRENCHIES!" Merci beaucoup pour cette belle excursion. Vive la France!
Your channel is my favorite and I absolutely love every single video you do.💞 I am so interested in and truly love these countryside trips. I want so badly to make a trip to France from the US soon.🫠 Thank you for always providing us with valuable information and ideas for when we finally get the chance to make plans and pack our bags to beautiful France. 🇫🇷 💖🤗😘
I haven’t even watched all of this video yet, but want to say how much I am enjoying it! I appreciate these side trips out of Paris video’s you are making. The information is so helpful when planning a holiday in France and Paris will be the base. 🤗🙏🏻
Looking to do a trip through the Burgundy region next year, so this was very good timing. I love getting the notifications that another video is ready for watching.
My dear frenchies it was soon wonderful to watch you this morning in one of my favorite areas of France. Spent a week in Beaune, arrived by train, rented a car and saw some of the same places of your vlog lovely folks. Thanks for the information and ecperiences. Stay your unpretentious, genuine lovely selves. Love each other and enjoy life.
My wife and I have traveled from the US to every French region, and our favorite is Burgundy. The wines, the food, the history, and the people keep bringing us back time and again. The Yonne and Côte d’Or are our favorite departments. With respect to the producers of this video, Burgundy is worth a week or two of one’s time to savor. I’ve been going there about every other year since the mid nineties, and still haven’t seen it all.
Every year we travel from the Netherlands the route de Solleil to the southern parts like the Provence, Drome, Ardeche and all those nice regions. We hate to rush on holiday and break the trip with a night in Beaune at the municipal camping. Fun to see! I need an extra night to go around for whineshopping.
Just an amazing trip and exploration of the best that France has to offer. My bosses will love this trip as it involves shopping and stuff turns up,so their "assistants" have been forwarded this video to "shop" come Monday.
I really enjoy these visits to the different regions of France: they’re educational & fun! For some reason, Burgundy has been under my radar but you’ve certainly piqued my interest, between the beautiful countryside & the lovely wines. Where will you take us next time??? Merci Les Frenchies! ❤
Colleen and Antoine, I've been hoping you would cover Burgundy at some point. Pinot noirs around the Cote d'Or are my absolute favorite appellations; I want to enjoy them in their natural habitat at some point. Plus, Burgundy has great gastronomy, beautiful landscapes, and a cultural heritage of world renown. All the more reason to visit. Anyway, thanks for such a fun episode. It didn't disappoint! BTW, you two had me in stitches...🤣 "You can lock me up here. I'll be fine." "It's an injection of wine."
Very beautiful region. I made a 6 day walk in the region from Mercurey and it was fantastic. Wonderful wine and all manner of amazing meals in restaurants throughout!
Yeah, I cycled from the center of Dijon to near Beaune, all through vineyards and almost entirely cycle paths. There are a few recommended routes. It's beautiful.
Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa! We were in Paris a year ago and watched many of your videos on tips for holidaying there. They were so helpful, eg, using the Metro, communication etiquette, restaurants and being careful regarding scams and pickpockets. We still enjoy your videos to this day and have been inspired to create our own charcuterie boards and cook boeuf bourguignon! Thanks for enriching our lives and we wish you everything of the best. Charlotte and Patrick
Your Paris videos are great, but I really enjoy these trip videos. You do a great job of showcasing these regions, so that others can 'experience' them. We just picked up our new jet this week and I got 12 bottles of Chateau Dassault Grand Cru Classe 2019. If you ever get to try it, I think you'll love it.
Loved the leg of lamb. Here in Australia that is a lamb shank, and not too many years ago they were considered pet food! The Hospice du Beaune is an amazing place, the roof is simply outstanding. Keep them coming!
I did this once and want to do it again. There are other good Pinot Noirs, but I agree that those from Bourgogne are the best. And so many wonderful wineries so close together! And Beaune is such a charming town. This makes me want to go back very soon!
I have! I have seen your videos and will rewatch them before my trip. In addition, I’m a member of the FB group and accessed information through Thatch. Thank you!
The department of Côte d’Or is a wonderful place to visit and taste wine. There are other departments worth traveling to, particularly the Yonne, home of Chablis and Irancy, some of the best white and red wines of the region. Irancy is the location of my favorite traditional Burgundian restaurant, Le Soufflot, which serves great escargot and Oeufs en Meurette. Wonderful local wine list, too.
Bravo, another great video! There's a very cheap way of getting from Dijon to Beaune taking you from village to village through the vineyards; it's by local bus (ligne 44) and costs 2€. A Kir or a Kir Royale is a must... as is a stop by the Maille shop, so many mustards!
Thank you for this! Your hotel room was probably twice as large as any I've stayed in while in France at any time! And wow! I never was in a wine cellar not to mention with experts in Burgundy. I miss the crème brulée! I did eat a lot of that! Thanks for this.
Indeed true perfect region which deserves a long visit. Burgundy was a state in the heart of France. Under Louis XI it was incorporated into the Kingdom of France in 1480.
The minute Antoine said what does the stair and elevator setup remind you of, I smiled. And then when he did the “Penny, Penny, Penny,” I burst out laughing…which is awkward because the plumber is working in the bathroom. 🤭😂
Bon jour, mis amis! I have been watching your videos for 1.5 years now. I look forward to your new French adventure every Saturday. I really feel like I know you. 😂 It cracks us up when Antoine dances with his cutlery when he takes a bite of something delicious. Colleen, you and I would be bffs if we knew each other in real life. We were planning to visit May 2023 but due to some unfortunate, unexpected events it was postponed. Finally! May 2024 and we are all booked. Thanks so much for all the advice. I purchased some of your pdf guides and they were super helpful. I might do a food tour with Antoine's brother while we are in Paris. Again, thank you for all of your advice. Even though our trip is booked and planned, I think we will keep on watching your videos and living vicariously through your UA-cam adventures.
I was going to ask when are you guys coming to Dijon where I grew up, and voilà, there you are! Visitors usually go to Bordeaux or Lyon, but Dijon is only 1 hour and 45 minutes by TGV from Paris and Bourgogne is a beautiful region. Thank you for this fun video.
Very special trip again. Different. The food in that region looks incredible. Never had parfait foie gras. Only the normal version. What was the name of the wine that wasn't chardonnay? Did she say pinot blanc? Great guide again, bringing to intetesting points. Really interesting area. France is so magical 👍💫
I recommend the hungarian wines. Red or white wines. My country dont have lost of mony (as France) to wine marketing but many wines from Hungary won golden medals and many winners in foreign countries. And cheaper than french wines.
Thank you, it is beautifuL. I'd say above 3 persons, it can be a better value to rent a car rather than moving around with trains and buses on strict schedules. Scenary is great with a car on the way to destinations, and it's nothing compared to driving/parking in Paris
Another great trip! I wish I liked wine….I don’t like alcohol except for a few mixed drinks🤷🏻♀️….because it always looks so good. And everyone but me (on our trips) enjoys it! Oh well, I still enjoy the travel and hearing about the spirits offered. Always enjoy your trips!
Bonjour guys. I really liked Dijon and Baune ( the hospice was amazing) but I did not do the vineyards. The dishes with those eggs was very unique. Would be great to go back.
They serve poached eggs in many different ways. Every one more delicious than the last. Who would have thought I would get so excited about eating eggs!
Great video as always, big compliment!! We were there a few years ago and I was trying desperately to have a glass of RC, even for 1000€. Were can I get it?
It was great to see Colleen wearing her new red scarf! I can't have wine, but watching you enjoy the wine tasting made my mouth water just imagining the tastes!
Magnificent area, such extraordinaire quality of all things good. Ah les bons vivants. If Iran doesn't attack us in Israel, I leave for Paris on Monday, banlieue sud a Sceaux. I am so excited to go to the market and eat at a few of the restaurant you have suggested.
as a Burgundy wine lover, thanks for this awesome video. too bad that prices of their wines are spiraling out of control and becoming less and less affordable to me vintage after vintage...

I can 2nd that tour! It is more fun than you would anticipated!
I’m loving these countryside trips so much! What amazing scenery. And you always spoil us with wonderful food and wine.
Glad you like them!
Well said - fantastic vlog!!
Made me giggle when Antoine jumped into singing mid sentence - so much fun! What a wonderful trip, thank you for taking us along! ❤
😂
Bonjour, I always wanted to try Pavlova as I loved meringue in desserts.
@@rockstar6790It’s so yummy!

i am doing the same in September. have a wonderful, wonderful time!!!!
Now you know exactly what to do
Do not miss the market on Saturday morning in Beaune.
Beaune is a wonderful town to visit even for regular visitors
it truly is!
Do you know the nickname of Beaune : Saint Tropez without the sea in French : Saint Tropez sans la mer.

Very beautiful region. I made a 6 day walk in the region from Mercurey and it was fantastic. Wonderful wine and all manner of amazing meals in restaurants throughout!
Wonderful!
I will be in this region in June and am hoping to drink my way through those wineries! Merci for this preview.
Bon voyage!
I went there last week with a bike ride from Dijon to Romanee Conti. It was a sunny day and the journey was just beautiful.
Yeah, I cycled from the center of Dijon to near Beaune, all through vineyards and almost entirely cycle paths.
There are a few recommended routes. It's beautiful.
Saw you guys at the airport leaving France and wanted to say thank you for these tips about visiting France! They were so helpful❤

Thanks for watching!
Hello Anton & Colleen. From the castles in Loire valley to yesterday's video of Burgundy both were absolutely beautiful. You are both so very lucky!!❤
Life is good. We worked for a long time to get here (and we're glad we did)!
Drinking burgandy in Burgandy, and champagne in Champagne! 😊
This video is timely; I’m going to Paris, then to Dijon and Lyon in September.
What a great trip! Did you see our video on Lyon?
Could you do Bordeaux, Le bordelais and the Entre deux mers wine region any time soon, please? And while there, could you also cover Armagnac?
we did go to Bordeaux last year but didn't cover Armagnac. I guess we have to go back now.
Loved the leg of lamb. Here in Australia that is a lamb shank, and not too many years ago they were considered pet food! The Hospice du Beaune is an amazing place, the roof is simply outstanding. Keep them coming!
The lamb here is slow cooked and amazing! One of my favorite go-to meals.

Could it possibly be that good 🤔
I wonder what the soil analysis is in that location?
