You know I think that his arch enemy the Zookeeper should be used more often and imagine if Trigon wanted him to be his son-in-law just to give him monstrous grandchildren
Those are both good story ideas especially the trigon bit because if writers struggle to keep sole interest on just beast boy, you got raven in the story too to keep fans interested and invested. Having Trigon ACTUALLY wanting Raven making children with Beast Boy would be a shocker😱 and also funny 🤣 at the same time.
Beast Boy should be one of the most powerful in DC - He should be able to transform into a kryptonian grizzly bear and technically be almost on par with Kara and Clark. I think they keep him young for usually his ability to transform and hold that form is based on experience.
I feel like Beast Boy is like Spider-Man. He’s mature and uses humor as a way to keep things light. I feel like he is growing up a little bit after the events of Beast World and that DC might actually be ready to move forward with him. He could even be a leader of a team like make a new iteration of the Doom Patrol or Titans and show how he has grown. Also, DC seems to be in this mood of bringing original villains from the Teen Titans cartoon to the comics and I want them to bring Adonis to the comics and make him Beast Boy’s archenemy.(I don’t want it to be Zookeeper because I don’t want another “archenemies has the same powers as the hero but is evil”)
That was one thing I really liked about the Young Justice animated series was that he was able to become the leader of the Outsiders and lead a crew of younger teenagers. While still super young, he was at least able to be old enough to mentor other meta-humans
like you said he should definitley team up with Swamp-Thing but also Characters like Zatanna, Static, Superboy, Tim Drake etc also idk why but i totally ship him with cassandra cain
Personally, as much as I like Beast Boy & Terra I think their dynamic works better as “starcrossed lovers”. For those who don’t know the meaning of the term, it means when two people love each other, but destiny just wasn’t on their side. Tragedy struck, and they never got their happy ending. What can I say? I think Tara’s story is far more powerful when it ends with her, sacrificing her life for her friends. And even in the anime where she mysteriously returns from the dead, she has no memory of her former life and beast boy ultimately decides to respect that she needs to move on with her life and he needs to let her go. The pair have a great dynamic, but I think there’s a very powerful message behind their tragic love story: two people care about each other very much, but it just doesn’t work out.
I think I just want a good solo Beast Boy story, establishing him as a CHARACTER. I feel like when people look at Beast Boy, they look at him as a gimmick, the “comedic relief” or the “dude that turns into animals.” I think showing off the “peak potential of him” makes him MORE of a gimmick. Like how Captain Atom is only used to blow something up. Make people CARE about Gar, and make him someone that can be cared about.
I also think that him challenging himself to be a better hero on is own, as he’s arguably one of the weakest Teen Titans, if he’s not being written to be “the strongest person ever.”
And I don’t think Beast Boy fits on the Justice League, because the Justice League isn’t really a family, I just couldn’t see him not choosing to leave.
Also, I don’t agree with buffing Beast Boy. I think in general, it’s more effective to show someone’s true character through their weaknesses as opposed to their strength. Him turning into King Kong is a GIMMICK. That’s mascot-like. Give him a sense of responsibility, fear that can be overcame, stuff like that. Put Garth > Beast Boy
What if Beast boy had a space arc? 😮 We haven’t gotten to see him use the ability to adapt to different environments and the things he can turn into in different places
While I understand that Beast Boy will most likely always just be seen as the comedic relief of the Titans, given his backstory Ive always felt he should be a more tortured and serious character. I feel that this can be done by making his animalistic side something he has to control (which could also give him a meaningful connection to Raven), kinda making him into DC’s Wolverine. Another way they could approach his character is leaning into his background as an actor and exploring the dark side of Hollywood. This can lead to a story where he has to come to terms with the fact that all the fake people he’s around don’t like him for who he is but rather what he is; a freak, someone to be exploited for his odd gifts.
The closest Beast Boy has for development aside from the aftermath of Beast World is the acquisition of a new enemy: Apex Ava, a huntress who had the same illness as Beast Boy but exposure to one of Garro's parasites both stabalized the sickness and gave her the ability to shapeshift into whatever animal she has killed. Now she's gunning for Beast Boy, believing that killing the far more powerful Gar will give her the same powers as he has. Let's hope for Zookeeper she never runs into him.
7:10, I believe beast boy was actually featured in a vixen comic on WEBTOON. But I didn’t get far, so I never saw them actually mention his name or confirm anything. Only saw that his skin was like a pale green, rather than the rich emerald green we know him for.

I do think they should let Gar and Raven be a couple and grow up. I think Beast Boy should have his connection to the Doom Patrol acknowledged (maybe even let him lead the team for a while). Something weird people pointed out to me was that Beast Boy managed to use Mento's helmet which only works if the user has psychic powers, so why not give Beast Boy some low-level telepathy?
Is the green saturation on this video deliberate? If not, glad you kept it in. 6:10 Ayo! I know he probably could, but when did he transform into a starro? Complete with the (green, of course) starrolings?
During the "Beast World" arc, it's quite recent. He turned into a Starro's species exemplar (people call him "Garro" during this form) to fight another mind-controling space star by spreading his own starrolings to cure those affected. However, he was ambushed by Waller's personnel and had his mind erased to a feral state, making him turn against Earth. Then, everyone who had a "garroling" attached to them was transformed into aggressive beast-human hybrids, especially the supes, and the whole story is them trying to make Gar turn to normal while Waller is turning popular opinion not only against the Titans, but against the Superheroes as well.

His past with the Doom Patrol is depicted as just backstory nowadays, it feels like we rarely if ever get to see him interact in any meaningful way with the Doom Patrol anymore, nor does he play any role in that team's story and that team plays basically no role in his after he joins the Titans and it feels like they should be more important than just backstory.
Hey, I just wanted to say that I love your videos, and all the topics you discus! My requests for hot takes/ unpopular opinions are John Stewart Green Lantern, Mister Miracle, The Flash Family, and the Lantern Corps.
Amazing video I think this is a good step on getting justice for my main man Gar ! when I think about it, him and Tim Drake are in a very similar situation, where, as they cannot seem to grow out of or grow up from the persona that they’ve been in for decades now.
A dream that I have as someone who wants to write comics is write a beast boy and raven comic where beast boy and raven leave the teen titans and return to beast boys home in Africa and have them fight crime there and develop as a couple
Why not have a 'duo'? Perhaps *Starfire* gets called to her home planet, because there's a civil war going on, and *Nightwing* joins with her on this journey.
I love the take of Gar being "silly, yet mature" he was written during the 2000's, and I believe only OG Teen Titans show and Young Justice got his character right (especially YJ, 4° season was freaking heartbreaking). I believe this perception people have and perpetuate of him being only the "comic relief" is the greatest contributor for him to be maintained as a kid. Just a quick look at the traumas he endured: - Lost his family *twice*; - Grew up in an abusive household for a time; - Accidentally killed his family's murderer in a blind rage (interesting that people never remember that the "comic relief" did this), and it had consequences; - Has a not-so-great relation with his foster dad; - All the shenanigans he got in thanks to Terra and Raven; - And last but not least, got ambushed into becoming a world-ending threat, being used as the catalyst for Earth turning against heroes as a whole. And people even have the guts to portrait his as just a manchild who will never grow up. Either way, great video and story idea! I'll wait when you do a Doom Patrol Hot Takes
They did grow him up in the “nightwing new order” and “titans tomorrow” comics even changed his name to animal man,or the “new 52 ravagers comic”.But dc has to stop rebooting so much and give the titans a chance to upgrade to actual leaguers. Personally imo I like him being comic relief like Wally West flash. Because they tried making him too serious in young justice. But he’s just one of many characters underutilized at DC.
Except Raven works better with Damien rather than with Beast boy. They should all be in the same generation. Nightwing, Starfire, Cyborg, Wally west, Donna troy, etc. should be the generation before Raven, Damien, Beast boy, Blue beetle, static, etc.
I’m not sure about giving him more love interests other than the usual… I mean, everyone loves to brag about how many love interest Batman got. But the problem being none of them sticks, even the big ones. In the end he actually have no one. Don’t get me started on fing Spider-Man! Having only a few well fleshed out love interest and support cast could be a good thing in the long run, it keeps your readers emotionally invested in their relationship as they know it will last.
Not every superhero/superheroine needs lots of love interests, especially for Beast Boy. Having him mostly with Raven makes their relationship more consistent and stronger because they isn’t too many conflicts of cheating, love-triangles, and on & off dating between them. It just depends on the writers to actually make BBRAE move forward with bigger stages of their relationship.🤝🏾
My unpopular opinion is Beast Boy and Raven should be on the Justice League. I would even so far as to elevate them to become the "forth pillar of DC" as a couple. Replacing (as much as I do love them) Hawkgirl and Manhunter. I think my dream DC justice league is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Beast Boy, Raven, Flash and Green Lantern. But the problem with that, is that Beast Boy and Raven are locked on to the B Team as their biggest representation. They have to be like Wolverine where they can somehow be on both Justice League and Teen Titans like how Wolverine can be an Avenger and X-Men. Or maybe reboot the Justice League to be "the next generation" have Dick Greyson as Batman, Donna Troy as Wonder Woman, Conner Kent as Superman, Beast Boy, Raven, Wally West Flash and Jessica Green Lantern or something like that. (Conceptually it doesn't have to specifically be those successors)
Hot takes. I don’t buy him and Raven. Even in the source for that ship, the ‘03 show, they genuinely came off more like siblings. It feels like a pairing that’s only done out of obligation of how popular it is with its fans and because of how close the two voice actors are. I dont find their dynamic interesting at all. When I found out in comics Beast Boy could talk in his animal forms, I thought it was dub he couldn’t in the 03 show. Then Young Justice had Beast Boy talk with that collar thing…problem is the show turned me off of the idea of him talking as an animal due to the things they had him say and the shows dialogue problem in later seasons. So now I’m pro-no talking animals for BB. His purple and black suit is peak. Not sure that’s a hot take, but I prefer it (the comic version).
Beast Boy shares my top 3 of favorite DC heroes along side Batman (Bruce Wayne) and The Flash (Wally West) and all these hot takes and unpopular opinions are very appreciated. When it comes to Beast Boy's romantic relationships, I'm team Beast Boy/Raven, for sure. On one side both characters, Gar and Raven, are two of my favorite characters in all of DC Comics; and on the other side, and most importantly, Raven cares for Beast Boy as deeply as he cares for her. Which that's something I don't particularly feel from Terra towards Garfield. I do think Terra got to care for him, but to me it wasn't as deep. I don't know, her interest in him feels more out of guilt than anything else. I don't know how to explain it well, sorry. Raven and Beast Boy to me feel like two sides of the same coin. In more than one occasion I've seen how different they seem on the outside, but on the inside they are very similar. It's as if they can fit into two types of couples perfectly: the opposites attract type and the two birds of a feather type. They understand each other in a way no one else does. They share a strong emotional bond unlike any other I've seen on the team. They both are capable of destroying the world and share that burden with each other. They share their traumas with each other, maybe in doses, but I think that's healthy. The latest Titans run does a great work at showing what a mature couple they are. But yeah, they aren't full grown adults, I think? And that needs to change. Now onto the topic of aging up Beast Boy: I agree. They can keep the fun and jokes but give it a maturity paint on top. He isn't goofy and silly for the sake of it. I would like for Beast Boy to become Beast Man, even if Beast is probably a better name. Maybe Beast can be a nickname like in the 2003 cartoon, where he was called B, BB, and I think it was Cyborg who one time called him Beast. Having him team up with other heroes with powers related to animals is a great idea. I'd like to see that. I also like the idea of Beast Boy fitting with the Justice Society. And they definitely needs to bring up Beast Boy's connection to The Red more. Beast Boy is a character with a lot to unpack. But for some reason writers don't care? Or aren't allowed to explore this character's baggage? A shame.
I haven't read any comics in dark crisis. But the Titans is promoted as the primary superhero team in DC right now ( I think) since the Justice League step down. Anyway, I think they need to focus on gar personal life outside of the team. Like I really wish bring back idea Marv wolfman and Geoff Johns have pre 52 and form a nice stable mytho around the character. Kind of like a male equivalent to She-Hulk in a way. Reintroduce elements and stick with it like: -he's a struggling actor trying to proceed a serious role, what his cousin managing. -restablishing his relationship with Doom patrol. Most importantly his adopted his adopted parents. One was the on again off again villain and the other inspire him to become an actor. -give us more conflict stories between him with zookeeper and Gemini. -along with other elements in the rebirth teen Titans series and 03 And start from there. Because what's the point of constantly showcase a character who they don't have a solid consistent foundation to go on.
@@Superlad9494 true honestly there's nothing wrong with changeling. I went with Wild Beast because sometimes beast boy loses control of his powers and goes wild/feral.
@@lightingdragon4143 I see. Also...I think a reworking of his origin and the newer connection to Animal Man could be a nice update and link him into the big 3 as well since all DC heroes tie back to them in some way. The idea is based on butterflies...and fairytales since Changelings are celtic fairies legends (and not much difference between a fairy and insects) and rebirth had him have tech-based rivals known as pixies. Here's how it would go. Cliff Baker after his first "demise" (egg) returns as Beast Boy not knowing he's actually Cliff, he's found by the Doom Patrol and Donna Troy that day (because wherever the Titans are, the Doom Patrol is never far behind), Donna has a portable purple ray that gives BB his classic origin (because all Amazons even nicer ones like Diana and Donna find inserting implanted memories into people to be amusing...and embracing the warped sense of humor Celtic fae are known for) and Rita names him after some "orange Monday-loathing cat" and "Yse-Guy" she heard about, Mento violates BB as usual even though he knows this (caterpillar), Rita genuinely cares as usual and shames Donna for this course of action and fires Mento from the team for being no better than Chief Caulder who caused this whole mess in the first place. When BB joins the Titans, Nightwing helps him discover his true origins as Cliff Baker (chrysalis) and then when he reunites with his family he becomes Changeling (finally a butterfly) and begins working with his sister Animal Girl on missions...and sure he's tried dating Raven and Terra, but it never lasts because he's too cheery for both...and if he's a type of fairy....fairies don't date witches. Also the red/green/violet/basic peach switch can be emotional based, but tieing into the fairy thing...only one at a time linked to the lanterns as well (because he's considered a seely fairy like the Winx so light, not an unseely like their enemy Kalshara or Bloom's "darkseid")...he's green in hero mode, violet in romantic mode, you wouldn't want to be around when the guy with jokes goes from green to red would you? Peach for when he's calm, hair reverts to strawberry blonde with maybe a few tips of violet and green...to give him a "wild boy" look.
If beast boy did form his own animal based team, he would named the group Wild squad. Edit: turns out that wild squad hasn’t been used for superhero team. It’s only a name for a wildlife conservation agency in Australia.
I think Beast Boy is too intertwined with Raven and Terra. I'm not the most educated on comics, but most animated stories I see that involve him are basically dependent on the Judas Contract or Trigon stories. That's also a problem with the animated Teen Titans in general, but I digress. I loved the idea mentioned of having a team of Animal Based Super heroes, as I'd imagine it's like the Justice League Dark Team of Magic Heroes + Batman. Another Team that could be weirdly refreshing, is a team of Goof Balls. Him with guys like Plastic Man and Booster Gold. That seems like it goes against what people want, which is him to grow up, but I think if you have a team of people everyone else regards as jokes, you could explore the deeper parts of their characters together.
@@batman369able you say that as if other superhero names don't sound either dumb or goofy sometimes. Gar's suppossed to be somewhat goofy too. Also- using the Changeling name would be good because of how popular mythology has gotten again...and they occassionally put some Celtic fairy lore into his story...this would also add a proper big three link to him (as all modern superheroes are) besides wearing red and white...because when you think legends in the DCU...you think Wonder Woman...she's met norse and her own greek before, why not link BB to Celtic and tie it to butterflies and fairies as Changeling?

I believe this perception people have and perpetuate of him being only the "comic relief" is the greatest contributor for him to be maintained as a kid.
Just a quick look at the traumas he endured:
- Lost his family *twice*;
- Grew up in an abusive household for a time;
- Accidentally killed his family's murderer in a blind rage (interesting that people never remember that the "comic relief" did this), and it had consequences;
- Has a not-so-great relation with his foster dad;
- All the shenanigans he got in thanks to Terra and Raven;
- And last but not least, got ambushed into becoming a world-ending threat, being used as the catalyst for Earth turning against heroes as a whole.
Please do Midnighter
I have things to say about Blue Beatle that'd have me hung.
He'll be coming soon so you'll have your chance 😂
Don’t want Raven with Damien.. not a Damien fan and I don’t like mixing this 2 generation of titans
Except Raven works better with Damien rather than with Beast boy. They should all be in the same generation.
Nightwing, Starfire, Cyborg, Wally west, Donna troy, etc. should be the generation before Raven, Damien, Beast boy, Blue beetle, static, etc.
HOLY SHIT A BEASTBOY VIDEO
Gar is basically DC's Spiderman at this point, He doesn't really age or develop or anything!
Spidey does develope though
Yeah but he gets reset every few years.
There was actually a point where wally west flash was on both the titans and the justice league
Blue beetle next
Hottakes and unpopular upinions on Cyborg when?
He's part of my growing list so, soon!
It’s been done a lot, but what Lantern core would you assign the mainline JL?
They individually get their own colours or they're all placed together in one corps?
@@tyrellmultimediaTheir own colors.
My head canon is Raven put a spell on them so they don’t grow up but my real life explanation is they can’t think of a new name for him
Beast Boy shares my top 3 of favorite DC heroes along side Batman (Bruce Wayne) and The Flash (Wally West) and all these hot takes and unpopular opinions are very appreciated.
Reintroduce elements and stick with it like:
-he's a struggling actor trying to proceed a serious role, what his cousin managing.
-restablishing his relationship with Doom patrol. Most importantly his adopted his adopted parents. One was the on again off again villain and the other inspire him to become an actor.
-give us more conflict stories between him with zookeeper and Gemini.
-along with other elements in the rebirth teen Titans series and 03
And start from there. Because what's the point of constantly showcase a character who they don't have a solid consistent foundation to go on.
Wild Justice for the Animal-based super team.
Why don't they just call him Wild Beast or something
He's got Changeling as an independent name, let him use that again.
He has his own codename Changeling. Let him be Changeling again.
Nah. Changeling sounds dumb. I get that it's an old term for shape-shifting but in a modern context, it sounds dumb.
He should be the Flash of the Red.
I want to see at least one comic were beastboy ends up with perdita i liked there relationship in young justice but they broke up and i understand why but no one cares about this its always raven or terra
If u want Raven with Damien consider urself an opp
Yeah this comment section should ONLY be for BBRAE shippers✊🏾
Did you not read beast wars ??? He’s an adult
Ya but that's like one of the very, very few times he's aged up
@@tyrellmultimediaI concur with your comment because most of all Beast Boy media he’s a teenager and even when he is an adult, his hero name is still beast boy.
I personally like to see the adult Beast Boy have Vixen as his love interest tbh
Raven>>>>
His red and white costume is so ugly. Purple doom patrol ftw bby
We're all still in agreement that Beast Boy should be Animal Man's sidekick, right?
