Looking good. One way I have gotten around buying special fuel lines for saws is to have a variety pack of grommets and then run straight yellow Tygon lines through.
When wiping parts clean on engines I use a red shop rage. I have seen engines blowup because of cheap rages leaving fibers behind and plugging oiling systems up. That said, I think you are much safer with power-saws than most engines. But every little bit helps. Now I am going to be looking at youtube all day for the next homelite video. :D
Thanks for sharing. Oh um when you say, “most of you already know that,” you can include me in the group that doesnt😂. Please, any extra details you wanna throw out, I’m all ears man! I’ve been trying to learn as much as possible.
Thats funny!! I guess I often think I may be preaching to the choir so I say most of you probably know that. Its good to know that some don't as I feel like I'm helping just a little.
I work all over so I have no set commute time. On average between monday to friday I drive 600 miles or so to and from work. I wear work vans out pretty fast.
@@tinmanssaws I drove 1:45 minutes each way from my home to Detroit area for work 2005- 2020. Got laid off in November. Now work for larger company 20 minutes from home. Don't miss the long drive to and from. Thanks for replying. Enjoy you sharing knowledge and experience. Thanks
I have a ducati 900ss cr that I bored with weseco pistons 944 now restored from the frame out completely if you need any info or parts I may be able to help, thansk for a the info I just ported my second small engine these videos are a lot of help thanks man
Came over from Harvey's channel. Really enjoying your channel, what's your thoughts on McCulloch saws i have lots 10 10 and 610 saws would love to learnhow to port saws
Might actually make the old girl a runner. Lol. I'm doing some light port work for some logger buddies there jealous of my saws.I used to build hillclimb bike's.I'm a former national champion and always built my own bike's.love playing with engines.
They’re in good condition. Rebuilt the carb, replaced the fuel line. Comes with a Homelite 20 inch bar. Paint could use a touch up. I also have 1 I’d throw in for spare parts.
I was similar 20+ years hotting up cars and then I realised I wasted 20 years and went into renewable energy as a full time hobby, still tinker on cars but just mine, too taxing otherwise.
I like doing saws cause I can experiment and build horsepower without it costing me $10,000 to do so. And its funny I get the same enjoyment from modding saws.
@@tinmanssaws yeh I thought the same thing porting mowers , weedwackers etc, and no stress if it goes pear shaped , You can get performance cams etc for 5hp Briggs so it's still fun.
Love your work. Started out with Homelite, no chain brake, no anti vibration. The good old days.😎 Thanks for sharing. Sid
I never get bored watching saw builds....

Look damn good tinman, can't tell her from new. Look forward to the next video, and appreciate all your helpful knowledge. Have a great day 👍👍😁
I love the wrench, ground down one for getting on Chevy small block distributer hold down bolts. “Custom”

I use shop rags at first then paper towels. I find as long as the metal bits are removed I have no issues with saws.
Great info! The more I watch, the more it doesn't seem like black art wizardry 🙂
Making progress! That’s gonna be an angry homie! Thanks again for taking us along!👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Good progress, I can't help but wonder if the permatex has squeezed into the transfer ports.
It may have just a bit. Small things like that I find I don't fret about as I find it makes no difference in how the saw runs..
Haha. My 7/16 is ground down too because of a shovelhead. Funny.
Thats funny!!!

Great stuff Tinman ! Curious how far do you commute for work ?

A Red Duck. Is there any other color (maybe yellow)? Nice stuff; wipe cylinder until it's clean, just like cleaning bore on a rifle or pistol.
I had a yellow Duc moster once lol

Its funny but I have very limited experience with Macs. They aren't common here at all..

Looks tidy, prep is first class...won't be too long now...
Very curious as to what the timing numbers was at?
Never mind I finally found the video. Really enjoyed this series for this saw!
I am doing this to a super xl 130 hope it works for me
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I have a Homelite XL 76 that I would like you to build for me. Any chance we can make that happen? I desperately want this saw to sing like Buckin's.
Xl 76's don't seem to exist in Ohio. Do you have any to sell? That saw is on my bucket list but can't find any for sale.
I have a couple here I would happy to sell. Let me know.
@nuckledog what are you asking for one and do you have any pics?
My replies keep getting deleted. I have pictures, but I can’t post them here. $100
@@nuckledog what kind of condition are they in?
