The wrecking ball room got changed to Ashley controlling it and helping you kill enemies so that part got changed, I don’t think the remake is that bland though since it added operation Javier into the lore, let’s you play as Luis with his pipe and dynamite, hunk also has an assassin’s blade from mercenaries 3d, and Krauser gets an extra mutation with his arm and the first knife fight is now a boss fight. The dog in the Gigante boss fight can make debris fall on the boss, also the dog’s entrance was pretty cool. I think the game retains a little of it’s goofiness but also balances it with a more serious tone, like Luis being goofy and laid back while Leon is more serious but still joking around when enemies show up. But I can understand preferring the full camp of the og over the serious tone mixed in with joking of the remake.
Yeah, you definitely make some good points, and I agree that dog entrance is a huge improvement. I guess I mean that, by comparison to the og, remake is kind of bland... then again, most games are when compared to RE4
Thankfully for you, the remake is just okay. I play through the original about once a year, whilst, as good as this game is, I can't see myself going back to it
Been playing RE since the 90's and beat every mainline game, OG RE4 is my favorite and the remake lives up to it damn-near perfectly, it's a 10/10 and i highly recommend it
I totally disagree, it's a very true review. I feel very much the same, some new things, alot of cut things (don't know why they did that), a good action but truth be said it's very very bland... I hope the Ada missions fill in something...
I dunno, I do say several times that it's a good game. I felt compelled to make my own review after seeing lots of "best remake of all-time"-esque reviews in my feed.
@@avideogameodyssey3204 don't listen to this guy , if you made 14 minutes long nuanced take and someone responded with accusations of clout farming its like there being facetious and clout farming themselves, great vid btw
Yeah this is clearly a review from someone who loves the og just a bit too much
Haha, not gonna deny that.
That's a nice nuanced video essay on you personal opinion, would be a shame if where to happen to it.
But now seriously you got potential.
“Your right hand comes off!?”

The original RE4 is one of my greatest video game memories. I don't want to ruin my memories by playing a remake.

Take this from someone who also ranks the original in my top 5 ever. This remake is great and definitely worth the money.

Exactly
A good review actually not jerking off the remake for just existing there was people calling it a masterpiece before it even came out
The deluxe has great skins though, the villain and emo Ashley ones
11:25 hahahaha!

I'd rather play the Res 4 VR version as they left in quite alot of it.
I think this is a very harsh review

It isn’t, it’s a very honest review
desperately tryna be edgy to cause controversy
Or telling the truth
Bad take, such a good remake just trying to disagree for content
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
I promise you I'm not. I said several times that I think it's a good game but a bland remake. I was even really positive about the village section.
