The 2024 Sox & Martin Hemi Challenge at the 70th running of the NHRA US Nationals was epic! 23 drivers were on the qualifying sheet and we were also treated to Herb McCandless on the mic announcing as well as his former partner Buddy Martin. Herb spends a few minutes talking to me about the good old match racing days and what separated the men from the boys when it came to driving these cars in the early 70s.
