Someday people will realize how good HyperView was. To me it was almost like Title Fight's final form. It was the amalgamation of years of perfecting a sound.
I come back to this video whenever I feel like hearing someone talk about the wonder that was Title Fight. So many memories stapled to their music for me, and unlike a lot of bands I’ve been into for a period, I still feel the same about their music as I did years ago 🙏🏻
I’m really not one to get melodramatic over a band, but Title Fight will always mean something special to me, beyond even music. What they created was pure, unadulterated art that lives a life of its own, and that’s worth weeping over at times. Thank you so much for making this video. The part of me that made up my late teens is in a debt of gratitude for the effort that you went through here.
Hyperview came out when I was 21 and I didn't get it at the time. Now that I'm older it makes more sense, it has aged well. I think it's a masterpiece.
I’m 21 now, I got into Title Fight in my senior year of high school. That was a little over 3 years ago now, I was like 18. I ended up learning about them after getting into a band called Remo Drive, and their earlier material was really influenced by Title Fight. I thought it was amazing, and after checking out Title Fight themselves, I was simply blown away. I never listened to something that felt so perfect. I was going through a lot at the time and I feel like I really did discover them at a time where I needed it. Their lyrics and sound really resonated with me in this way I couldn’t describe, and they continue to even today. I think the first song I ever heard by them was Head In The Ceiling Fan, and it just drew me in right away. They have quickly become one of if not my favorite band of all time next to the Beatles lol. I know this isn’t really relative to your comment but I just wanted to share, been listening to TF a ton lately and nobody I know is really into them the way I am so I got nobody to rant about them to lol. To add to what you were saying tho: I felt the same way about Hyperview when I first got into them. It was good, but I wasn’t crazy about it the way I was with their other stuff… I think I appreciate it a lot more now. I know a lot of people seem to see it as a departure from their usual sound, which it was, a lot less aggressive. But to me something about it seems very similar. Listening to Floral Green a lot (that’s probably my personal favorite) I honestly felt like Hyperview was a pretty natural progression. I could hear it a lot on HITCF and In-Between. Anyway that’s just my 2 cents lol. I’d be really interested to hear where they would take things if they ever got back together. They were really perfecting their “vibe” you might say. If you’re interested, there’s another really good band you should check out called Drug Church from upstate NY.
@@shnorglebop1798 Great comment, I agree with everything you said. FWIW I'm 30 now, I still enjoy TF's older material but it was more relevant to me at the age you are now. Feeling angst, not fitting in, figuring out life as a young man in a world that seemed infinite. Like the line in Sympathy, "I never wanted sympathy Just wanted to be something I just wanna be interesting." Hope you find your own path someday that makes sense for you. Also listen to Glitterer if you aren't already!
Floral Green definitely brings back memories. I used to have a car with no USB in it only CDs were able to be played on that thing and I used to have Floral Green on repeat everywhere I went. These dudes definitely made their own lane and have continued to pave their own way. Title Fight’s fucking amazing.
Floral Green will always be a favourite because 'Like A Ritual' really entered my life at a time I needed it. That being said, Hyperview was an incredibly made album which clearly takes influence from a whole array of other genres and executes it flawlessly. It really felt inspired by The Smiths and other bands from that era whilst maintaining the melancholic sound of today. I can't say there has been a track by them that I haven't liked and they continue to be my favourite artists across all the genres of music that I listen to!
Tucker Hill definitely either “Title Fight - Hope” or “Title Fight - Dreamcatchers (the Walter Will version) definitely two of the best songs by them. Loud and Clear is also a really good one.

The last thing you forgot will always have a special place in my heart. I've listened to their other albums, and have tried to get into them, but sadly cannot.
Hyperview is my favorite album from them. It gives me the feeling of being in a warm car on a cold night- thinking nostalgically of the past. A sort of sadness and emptiness that somehow turns to happiness and then makes you want to shed a tear. I fucking love Title Fight.
I saw glitterer open up for ceremony in phoenix last month. It sounded like Hawthorne heights with simple synth/drum machine backing live, then I looked up the recordings and it sounds way different. He was not good live.

I rember the moment I discovered their music. They just released hyperview. I had listened to all kind of rock music for years, and they haunted me with their use of melody and textures. I was amazed by the fact that they could create so interesting feelings in simple songs like Safe in your skin. I showed their music to my friends and we have been listening this band for years now, here in our little Spanish town. Good times :)

I really enjoy(ed) title fights presence. They’re everything of musicians/a band that I aspire to be. They constantly change and evolve. That nostalgic sort of sound and confidence in self and their work is the most inspiring thing to me and the most relatable thing to me. I constantly feel change and revolution in what I work on as far as art, myself. I like that feeling and I like listening and learning about ppl who do the same. It’s good to not be tied down to one genre or sub genre of music bc you learn the most about doing what you love while also sort of learning how to be the best at your passion. Awesome stuff man.
thank you for making this video, im passionate cult follower of title fight lol and this was spot on. im a nerd for them and i will say musically title fight stands out completely and hyperview imo was them peaking as creative musicians. the depth to that album when listened to from a musician perspective reminds you that the simplicity and emptiness to a record is powerful. the strength of good sounding guitars/bass/drums, consistent sound and incredibly fine tuned production work is what they really honed in on for hyperview. the lack of genre/style layers compared to spring songs or floral green is in my opinion more enticing and very difficult to pull off musically
Title fight gets me in my feels but when hyperview came out i actually cried. Hyperview in my opinion is a masterpiece as an album i wont say its title fight's best album out of all of them. But hyperview is fucking special and amazing.
The Last Thing You Forget is my personal favorite. It's weird, now that i think about it. Title Fight got me into a lot of other bands like Tiny Moving Parts and American Football
I have always listened to TF on streaming services on my phone, never seen an album cover up close. The way the service clips the album art and shrinks it, I didn't realize the detail of the painting. I thought the "Shed" cover was a photograph, especially because most of the bottom was cropped out
I only got into Title Fight in recent years but they're pretty much every genre I listen to and I immediately fell in love with them. Some bands have good song writing, but I find theirs on another level. They're a band that can make me feel a wide range of emotions in 3 minutes or less.
Nothing hits me in the chest like Title Fight. I grew up with them since I was 16, too, so I am biased in that regard. Yeah, there's Alex G, Neutral Milk Hotel, Jawbreaker and Modest Mouse, but Title Fight is the very cusp of angst without getting cringey. I don't know what the fuck it is about them, but Ned and Jaime posses this excellent lyricism. Sometimes I think Title Fight saved my life because I was really suicidal when I found Shed. I didn't know there was a community for people that wanted to let their anger out in a contained manner. Moreover, Title Fight really taps into the feelings of disconnect from society (I struggle with really immense disassociation) in songs like "Head in the Ceiling Fan" and "Where Am I?" Like, it's macabre somehow, and is reminiscent of Jawbreaker's painful, indirect yet specific song titles. I don't know. There is something absolutely special about them.
I feel like my reflection as a punk rock parent is solidified by one of my child’s major initial influences being Title Fight. Took him to see them in Chicago, where Ned proposed to his gf. I discovered 10 months later that I had brain cancer. That trip from St. Louis and back yielded a lot of indications of my cancer. But I’m so happy we had this experience ❤️
I remember them getting kicked out of a show in 2009 in PA for Bashing the owners of the venue during their set. Floral Green and Hyperview CD is on constant repeat in my car.

its so true, what you’re saying about them willing to reinvent their sound. I think what they did as well as turnstile did alot to reinvent hardcore and give it new different flavors and good production. I think floral green is my favorite because of both the songwriting on it and because its sort of a perfect in between of their hardcore and emo/shoegaze sides
PS. You are not insignificant. That's a fallacy promoted by our corrupt system, my friend. You have an amazing channel, for one. I discovered life changing bands from your essays.

Despite having Shed be my first listen, getting obsessive over it and then loving Floral Green after that, Hyperview is my favorite album. I know its not a popular opinion but it just fits so well with me its kinda hard to describe. It mostly just coincides with what I listen to now while still having those qualities of what I used to listen to, sort of serving as a zeitgeist(?) Title Fight is to punk what Deftones is to metal. Undefined yet such a distinct sound.
man, what i would do to see one last TF show
I have all their albums in a box...so there. 😃
The backpack will forever be something I want.
if they ever come back i will be there on minute one
Oh i know what makes title fight special its that their members ARE SO FREAKING ATTRACTIVE
I miss them dearly
Hyperview is my favorite album of theirs followed by Shed
usually don't comment but this is an incredibly well put together video with an amount of effort and attention to detail i was not expecting. breaking down the art work like that really got me. been a fan of TF for about 4 years and have put a few friends on since. Thank you for this! Great work.
Despite having Shed be my first listen, getting obsessive over it and then loving Floral Green after that, Hyperview is my favorite album. I know its not a popular opinion but it just fits so well with me its kinda hard to describe. It mostly just coincides with what I listen to now while still having those qualities of what I used to listen to, sort of serving as a zeitgeist(?)
I dont know, I just fucking love Hyperview and I feel like it needs more love
Thanks for making this video, life has been such dogshit and they're all I've been listening to lately. Honestly hyperview hits the hardest for me. I miss title fight so much ): I miss being happy
i love you mate, thank you.
Nate you’re one of the best, please come back 😢
Can't believe just now did I find them/actually take the effort of realizing oh this familiar name, i like the music, i should go outta my way to listen to them more and not just let this be another random youtube suggestion of the music to me.
Very well done nate, appreciate the effort you put into this. Looking forward to your next matesclub drop!
thank you so much matey
hopefully will return and make more music
this video is so well made and makes me so happy💕
mad love my mate, thank you
Hyperview is my favorite album of all time
Love title fight!
Cheers from Brazil
Seen them 4 times yet I’ll never have enough RIP TITLE FIGHT
