this video has been a long time coming.
Great video mate. And it didn't feel like just under 10 minutes, didn't outstay it's welcome 🤛
Hyperview is that album that you’re not into at first but as you get older you start to appreciate it. I go back to that album a lot more lately.
Yeah, you're right. Back then, I had nothing nice to say about it. Now, at least, I can appreciate it for what it is even though it's still not my thing.
@@danframpt0n It's actually one of the reasons that got me into more grunge/shoegaze music like Whirr, Nothing, DIIV, Collapse, Basement, Muskets, Grivo, etc. It's def not along the same as the hardcore scene but I feel like peoples taste in music gradually change with time and it's silly to think that a band isn't going to do the same. It's just about doing it along the same exact time line as it's original fans which is EXTREMELY hard to pull off. Daughters would be a perfect example of a band managed to do it right... until the cancelation that is. lol
Such an amazing album
Hyperview grew on me immensly
I used to HATE Hyperview. Now it's probably my most played album. I LOVE Hyperview.
I actually met Ned at a show my friend was performing at in the back of a random bar in Brooklyn. This was probably right when the hiatus started. He told me that he was going to NYU for creative writing and wasn’t sure if the band was going to get back together anytime soon. The other members were like starting families and stuff and kind of wanted to prioritize that.
This band got better after each album. Went out on top.
Straight Seinfeld’d the exit. Beautiful yet heartbreaking 🤣😭🫡
Still cuts real deep today
I love how the Erection Kids ultimately went on to form Balance and Composure, another criminally underrated band.
Yeah, I was really into Set Your Goals in 2006 before they dropped their record. I watched a set "theerectionkids" uploaded over 20 times. Watched some of the recordings of them too, fucking hilarious to hear they became b&c haha.
RIP BANGARANG THO, THEY WERE DOPE
Well there's a band name I don't want to Google
@@markl1910 worth the risk
Our band True Nature draws a ton of inspiration from Title Fight & Balance and Composure! If you care to check us out we just put out a song called Closed Off!
Split with TEC still had TF best songs imo… but it’s a tough call. They have so many brilliant songs!
For a lot of bands, the 3rd album becomes an experiment where they tend to switch up their sound and try new things. At first, fans don't really understand when it comes out and tend to dislike it. But a lot of the time, with age, it becomes understood and really appreciated. I personally love when bands try something new and switch up their sound, and this album was such an perfect transition for them to me, and looking at the landscape of that genre almost a decade later, it seems like it sent a ripple effect across similar bands. :)
exactly! It's extremely hard to pull that off and manage to keep the same fan base bc not only the fans taste in music changes with time but also the bands themselves. I mean, imagine playing pop punk for the rest of your entire life. Yeah, in jr high/high school that might have been cool but doing that in your 30's is just depressing. Shit HAS to evolve!
i don't think it's necessarily because of Ned that the band took a hiatus but more so a culmination of their journey up to that point and it's understandable that they would all want to take a break and experience life. For almost a decade the band was their entire life and they were touring or recording non-stop. I think right now the only reason they aren't getting back together is because Jamie is still out exploring, he was seen in Japan doing a marathon very recently and a year or two ago there was a reddit post from someone who met him at their college. On instagram Ned and Shane regularly post Ned, Ben, and Shane getting together and I think it could just be a matter of time before we here something whether it good or bad.
What are there inta's? I've never been able to find them
Man I hope ❤️
@@justinclark1182benrussin, glitterer official account is Ned, and Shane’s handle is poisonthorn
I frickin love Title Fight, hands down one of my favorite bands of all time. I even loved Hyperview (I got it tattooed on me lol). Hyperview reminded me of Brand New's progression as a band, and I dig that.
Man, I used to love the shit out of them 10 years ago. I know they’re on hiatus but I hope they come back soon cuz there’s no one like them 🙂
I'm trying to manifest a return. Haha
I'd bet a few bucks, and this thought just came to me today, that Jamie wanted to perhaps make some money for a change. Go to school, get a job, work a bit..The other three have, for the most part, remained active musically..
Shed is wayy better than floral green imo
agreed, but i can see why people have their own favorites, theyre all thier own thing
In the 2010s only two bands both galvanized and transcended the hc scene - Title Fight and Turnstile
TUI??? Have Heart (technically pre 2010s but still impacting people the same)!? No Warning?
@@the_real_tay_loud2072 pre 2010 I’ll give you TUI and HH…
For me personally, it’s almost impossible to declare a definitive favorite song, or album from Title Fight. If I had to, I would probably say Floral Green and “Like A Ritual” or “Lefty.” But unlike some, Hyperview was an album that changed my whole musical life. And the whole album just gave me this heavy nostalgic 90s vibe that made me feel like a kid again, but with the maturity and perspective I have now. I admire the depth of the lyrics they dive to as well as the experimentation with guitar effects. I love that they challenged theirselves, and explored some really different and interesting sounds with it. Yes, it’s very different, and slower in comparison to a lot of their older songs, but I think it’s more a symbol of their maturity and progression in a way. So, comparing albums is a natural thing for us to want to do, but I do feel that it’s unnecessary. Each one has their own place and purpose and I think they’re all great. But like the rest of us, I hope one day soon we have the privilege of hearing whatever it is we imagine they would do next. I still have hope 🙏
Can u share some bands/musics that sounds like Hyperview please?
@@bekaakkPLEASE!!!
We r still waiting Jacob 😤
So sorry I am just now seeing this! Some of the bands that have held me over pretty well are, in this order: Leaving Time, Modern Color, All Under Heaven, Whirr, Clearbody, Somos, Deafcult, Sleepwalk, Downward. Hope you enjoy and discover something you haven’t heard :]
Also, shameless plug, but I’m in a band called True Nature from Maryland and we are about to put out our second album. Will send the link here when it’s finished!
Hyper view is probably my favorite. It reminds me of Whirr and I love them both
Same here!! ❤
You know between this video coming out 2 weeks ago and their music being “last updated” within the last couple of weeks, I feel a storm a’brewin…
The best thing out of PA since the declaration of independence
growing up in the wilkes barre/nanticoke area this is the band that got me listening to hardcore bands. was lucky too see them more times than i can count.
Dude I'm 35 years years old and used to play in a band that toured all over America, Canada, and south America and title fight is the best band to ever walk the earth. The atmosphere and energy is unmatched man and btw glitterer is amazing live dude I saw him in Pennsylvania awhile back
yo, what was your band? just to chek it out
is your username a drug church reference
2 months late, but there is a heavy hit of nostalgia for this era. Title Fight and Basement (especially their album I Wish I Could Stay Here). Damn. Keen for that energy to come back
I never like to say that I have a single favorite band becuz there are so many good bands to just settle on one and say they’re my favorite.
But title fight is the only band that I start going into the fanatic zone for.
I’ve loved them since their Kingston ep and I’ve never not liked anything they’ve put out
I still hold out hope that they become active again and put out more music and tour again, and until they come out and say explicitly that they’re done, I will not stop waiting
I recently saw Glitterer in march. I was able to take a pic with ned. Dude was so polite and willing to let me take a pic with him.
I’ve seen TF 3 times and each time they were always humble and unassuming. They kept to themselves, but if you went to say hi or get them to sign something they were always the friendliest dudes.
They’ve always been the best.
I started listening to Title Fight last year in September and they are my favorite rock band of all time. I agree with almost everything that you said and have been thinking the same things that you said in the video. I don’t have much to say because you pretty much said it all but man Floral Green to me is the perfect album and my go to album when I want to listen to Title Fight. It just has everything that I want to here from an alternative band. I know that the spring songs ep is an improvement that defines their sound but personally Floral Green is my favorite Title Fight sound.
Long Live Title Fight! 🤘🥞
Title Fights monthly Spotify listens is only slightly behind Turnstile
Ahead now by 400k
New titlefight fan Ive been introduced but never got into them until 10 years later. Honestly Hyperview is one of my favorite albums from them never really got why it was so hated I like shoegaze, punk and emo.
If anyone is looking for music like title fight especially their earlier stuff, I recommend Prince Daddy and the Hyena. Their album “I thought you didn’t like leaving” is perfect
I recommend a mexican band called "No Somos Marineros" specificaly their album "Lomas Verdes" and "D'Arcy"
They have a notorious influence of Title Fight
I also really think the bands "allwarm" and "Tomahawk Chop" really scratch the title fight itch for me
And also basements EP "songs about the weather"
Title fight is criminally underrated
TITLE FIGHT FOREVER
Hyperview is the natural evolution - you can hear who they're listening to and influenced by in it (how many times have you seen a pic of Jamie wearing a Whirr tee). The classic Title Fight jazz-turned-power chords, yelling with melody, noise tracks, rhythmically intricate picking, etc. are all right there - all of the tenants of Title Fight tracks. The genius of this band is that they were always a few artistic steps ahead of the scene around them. Hyperview was ahead of it's time and has influenced so many hardcore-adjacent bands in the current scene. The whole "the new album is not the same as the old stuff, therefore it's bad" trope doesn't fit here. Respectfully disagree with this take. God, I'm corny as fuck for this
God forbid a band wants to not be in a box and kills every genre they attempt.
I fucking love this band. Will forever be my favorite band of all time. So glad I got to see them live. Thanks for this!
Just had a quick listen. Yeah, sounds pretty good so far! Will check out their discography some more later thanks mate 🤛🤛
Nice
Its interesting how newer/more recent fans of TF seem to always favor Floral Green, Hyperview, Spring Songs, and the OG fans from the beginning swear TLTYF and Shed as the best and peak of their sound (me c:) but I guess it makes sense based on when/how you were introduced.
I wouldn’t consider myself an og (I first heard of them in like 2022) but I have to say that TLYF and Shed are their peak. But I think it especially matters if you found them through hardcore and punk and pop punk, or if you found them through the TikTok shoegaze explosion, which records you lean towards. Personally I also really recommend checking out their unreleased b sides, and old demos
Hyperview was a huge departure from Floral Green, spring songs was good too.
🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞 pancakes all round for Title Fight!!!!!
The only band that you can really compare Title Fight to is Jawbreaker, who were basically their 90's equivalents
I might be wrong for this but i always felt “post hardcore/rock” is a perfect way to give a quick name to their kind of sound
Walter Scrhreifels co-produced shed
Secret Society is also a fave of mine
He also does the vocals on safe in your skin
I physically recoiled when he sang Secret Society 😂😬🥴
Clear as crystal pepsi!!!! Lol
Good video, to be honest my favorite album is "the last things you forget"
Long live title fight
Head in the ceiling fan has some deftones influence. Love it.
Title fight started close to where i live! The hyperview mural is like 10 minutes from me
Wilkes-Barre gang
real shit man, just got my floral green vinyl today
Hypernight is one of my fav tracks by any band in any genre of all time. It’s Ned’s bassline for me. I discovered them late, and wish I had a chance to see them back in the day. Long live TF! ❤
Love rhese guys. Nepa has had great hardcore.. always and these guys are ao talanted and i dig glitterer too
Every time I listen to spotifys title fight playlist it reminds me of berserk maybe because everytime I read a new chapter I'll listen to tittle fight but that's because there tone goes good with the berserk manga
I love TF, I love every album, and in my opinion they only got better and better with each album. Shed is great, floral green is amazing, hyperview is beyond amazing.
hyperview is as good as shed and floral green imo i cant say i have a favorite album from them theyre all so peak
hyperview is my favorite album of theirs. good video :)
I totally respect that
I hadn’t been apart of the scene in so long but I got dragged right back in thanks to title fight
I always fucked with Hyperview especially because it reminded me of the smiths.
a title fight vid in 2023!?! hahaha, this is awesome :)
I found Title Fight 3 weeks ago and was absolutely floored! Watched their documentary Shed, listened to all the albums, have watched entire live shows on UA-cam. I can listen to Shed 20 times in one day. It's a flawless album. Floral Green is incredible but don't think I "get it" as much as Shed. And Hyperview lost me. I wish I would have seen them live and for my own song writing, wish I would have found them all those years ago.
Being alive during Title Fight’s era, is a blessing.
Glocca Morra needs to come back as well
Holy shit i didnt realize they were that old. I just randkmly stunbled across head in a cieking fan like 2 years ago and assumed they were some underground band that were all about my age (mid 20s)
I’m pretty sure you’re just me if I was reincarnated. Long board, wrestling fan, title fight fan, guitarist.
I'll fight anyone that says title fight isn't the best band to ever roam the earth holy shit so underrated
Oh man when I heard "shed" I was like shit this is going into rotation in my brain...
Just got the call they are coming back soon🤫
You should keep growing your facial hair. I’m very much curious on how that would look. No pressure, though. K byyye
I grow out the stash from time to time. Normally, in the fall
Hyperview has punk songs on it, chlorine, rose of Sharon, those are absolute bangers.
I love title fight so much
This band could've been as big as Turnstile, without a doubt. Was lucky to see them once at Coachella but would've preferred seeing them at a more intimate venue.
What do you think of Teenage Wrist? I feel like they’re the closest thing to Title Fight that I have. I miss Title Fight so much
i fucking need title fight back. please ://

Here in Santiago Chile Title fight has been the Goat hc punk band besides Turnstile that every modern hc kid knows.. An actual comeback of Title fight will be insane, absolutely insane, just check when they came in 2015 the venue almost went down

Sounds like you'd be happy if they just keep doing a Floral Green 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 etc..
Title Fight died killed by the peaple who say they died with Hyperview, such a bad, bad opinion to have
Straight up lol
I love Title Fight
Anyone know what Jamie is up to?
Your subscribers are going up quick, buddy!!
Whats the guitarist up to these days?
hyperview ... is best album of all time.... bro
unfortunately untrue
Great intro mate 🤛🤛🤛
Title fight n Turnstile is a complete different taste, when it comes to bringing new genre, title fight for sure win it! It's just the timing doesnt work to find them the fame like turnstile did.
I think they are my favorite band also since I was a wee girl. I wish they would come back just once.
I miss them so much man.
Man, i loved them 10 years ago
Like a Ritual is my favourite song of theirs.
Tssf is also another comparable band that outdid their already incredible debut with an even better record
Hyperview is my favorite TF album
I actually really love Hyperview the most. But then again I love all the albums lol
Hyperview is an absolutely great record
🥞🥞🥞title fight is peak
every single record they put out is a 10.
Dude if you had to keep one and destroy the rest who would it be out of
Knuckle puck
Title fight
Turnover who would it be
Great band
I LOVE TITLE FIGHT❤
Hyperview is perfect and TF never cared about what kind of reception it would get, if anything they knew in advance. Also Hyperviews production is actually top tier, just as well as they blurred the lines and incorporated hardcore and pop punk, their blend of all the styles connects them all making TF the literal missing link from generation to generation style to style. Still a great vid but had to drop some opinion sauce in this beautiful salata.
Listen to ' c h a m b e r ' by Tuxedo Mask and tell us how you feel.
I love every album and ep they dropped
secret society is also my favourite tf song
You got to remember when they made those arelier records they were in their teens and early twenties. Musical tastes and influences change with age and maturity. I am sure they still like hardcore and punk music, but do they want to play "Secret Societies" night in and night out. Do they want to just keep slinging that same style over snd over again. Its like telling Metallica to make Ride the Lightning 20 times over. Maybe in the long ru theyd have more respect, or a better catalogue but really, what musician wants to dedicate their time, creativity and life to doing the exact same thing over and over again? Some bands made careers doing it but was it a financial decision or creative decision? Something tells me Ac Dc and Iron Maiden made a financial decision to keep slinging the same pancakes over and over again.
Title Fight has my respect. I like old and new Title Fight. Id rather go back from time to time to the immense Floral Green then have them write some half assed medicore new hardcore album. You know theyd turn out shit if they arent feeling it anymore. Why bother? How many NYHC giants that refused to change put out absolute garbage.
I think the best way to do it is get in and get out. For instance NAILS. As far as I know 2 members quit which probably means they arent doing anything anymore...but...they released 3-4 5/5 albums. Get in and get out. People will talk about them for years.
Iove title fight
Am i the only one that loved hyperview at first also
