    My hair hasn’t been this moisturized until I started following this method. I did it on my wash day a week ago and my hair is still moisturized. Ty so much. I finally found my products and my routine to stick too. I’m done trying all those methods I have seen on UA-cam. I’m free. The only thing I do different is I made a rosemary and cloves oil that I use to seal in that moisture because I’m low porosity and the grapeseed oil I use to make the oil is not heavy on my thin strands.

    This is a very interesting hydration method. I’m hearing of it for the second time.
    The first time I heard of it was through a deep conditioning product and I only tried it out when using that product. I never thought of trying it out as part of my routine moisturizing process. It is very interesting and I’ll definitely include it in my regimen. I’ll try doing it weekly and I’ll come back to comment as an update. Thank you for the video.

    Girl! This video is so awesome! And came right on time, because I just found a solution to maximum hydration too--after years of battling dryness. For me, it starts at my shampoo bowl, I’ve been using a sulfate free shampoo by design essentials that I use on a schedule with my protein treatment and I use my regular sulfate shampoos also by design essentials on a regular wash day where I just use a deep conditioner.
    I have never used a sulfate free shampoo and had a good experience, this sulfate free shampoo by design essentials changed the game. When I apply my moisturizers after washing and conditioning--my hair stays soft and hydrated for weeks! I think this repetition really helped the moisturizers to stick to my hair. I only need to use my moisturizer spritz three times a week to keep the moisture locked. This is an awesome experience! I’m glad you found a solution that works for you too! You are truly dropping gems and debunking myths that heat is bad. 😊

    This is amazing because I started the same routine after watching @naturallynica who uses glycerine in her routine and I’m so glad that I did. Been doing it for 3months now and yes my twists stay moisturised for over 2 weeks👌🏾also the only thing I do differently is sometimes I make an Ayurvedic tea instead of just water glycerine and aloe Vera and I also added msm. The msm has done wonders for my scalp. It’s almost like it cleanses it and keeps it clean even though I oil my scalp every few days. I haven’t washed my hair since mid July and my scalp looks like I just washed my hair. The no washing is not by choice btw just haven’t had the time 😩😅. Love that you use heat as part of your routine. Thanks for sharing .

    my 2nd week using this routine and I'm surprised that by day 7, my hair is still moisturised. I use a herbal hair spritz (rosemary, green tea, cloves), aunt jackie quench leave in and seal with olive oil. You actually recommended I try olive oil coz castor oil (though I love it) was weighing my hair down. I'm currently on day 4 and still good, my scalp is still a little oily so I'm able to do a scalp massage without having to add any oils. My major problem is hand in hair syndrome😩I'm always twirling my twists, twisting and untwisting, it's as if I can't help it. I try to avoid it by wrapping my head with a scarf when I get home to avoid touching it. I used to bite my nails, then I moved to touching my face, now it's my hair. I hope I'm not over touching it, putting extensions soon for 4 weeks...no touching hair

      great to hear this is working for you. I love touching and playing with my hair too. it’s discipline we all need to learn. I try to make the “ touching “ useful so I unravel and retwist a couple of twists gently a couple of times a week as part of my retwisting routine

      @@CoilyDiaries not completely as I still use a leave in with glycerin as my hair loves it, and then castor oil. It’s hard to describe the way it feels when it gets onto my neck. I’m going to grow dreads as I can’t take it😂

    Hi Coily diaries Im using your technique and it’s working wonders, however I’m high porosity so I don’t use heat do you think the moisture will still traverse my hair shaft since my cuticles are more open that lower porosity?

    • @CoilyDiaries

      for hydration and to be sure I recommend heat regardless of porosity but if it’s working without heat use then all good

    What if your scalp produces a large amount of sebum I mean my scalp is always oily even after washing my hair, it’s right back oily. You would think my hair is down my back with all that sebum. Should I oil my scalp with the oil concoction or just seal the moisture in on my strands only? And if I’m going longer without washing my hair how do I keep the sebum down so that I can do the routine without washing my hair so often. It’s weird, my scalp loves wash days but my hair does not

    • @CoilyDiaries
      @CoilyDiaries  7 місяців тому

      You have asked great questions sis! I have a video ready during this vlogmas series about how to utilize and manage sebum. I think the scalp will benefit from water and the oil but if you are blessed with a lot of sebum I wouldn’t bother unless the purpose is to prevent itch, bacteria growth or stimulate blood flow. Look out for the video though 😍
