i know a game you would love hope you see this coment its breth of the wild vr its in vr chat this guy made the world and the animations are asome you would love it its in vrchat
I actually love how they have those ear buds. Simple, no wires hanging. No heavy headset on top of the vr. Sound quality is decent. The rubber peice on the head set works really good as well, totally blocks outside light.
The cheap rubber is a big improvement actually it helps mitigate the external light in the room. That’s the only viable option we have to feel like you are in the game without catching a side glimps of your lights in room. It needs to be like a curtain for all kinds of heads face etc I love it because the last vr I had did not have it which takes you out of the experience
And not only that, this is the first headset that doesn't hurt my face due to that design choice, and I think that was the other thing they had in mind when designing it. Think about all the other headsets and how they have thicker material you have to really push up against your face to block out the light, so after some time your face starts hurting. This one is way more comfortable with the way it sits higher up on your forehead and nothing pressing against the face, fantastic design!
I got the psvr2 for Gt7. It rocked my world. The next day I spent 1700 on a wheel, shifter and seat. I’ve had it for three days and its been incredible.
lol classic sim racing tale. One minute you holding a controller next your in a full blown VR motion sim ahahaha.. it's ok! First step is coming to grip with your problem. Naw but no BS it become an expensive hobby lol
@@scottd7222 Much cheaper then buying and upgrading real cars lol. I just turned 40 and I’m trying to turn the page on that stage of my life. vr sim racing is cheap in comparison and I get to drive way more cars lol. The tricky part was talking my wife into letting me get it. That’s why I went for something portable. If I really get into sim racing I could see myself getting something a little more substantial in the future. I’m really impressed with the stuff I have now but I have zero context to what good stuff is. I just went with some good reviewed mid level stuff that I could get in two days. Went with the Thrustmaster t-gt ii, TH8A shifter and t-gt light. I fold down two parts of it and it goes right into our pantry where the deep freeze used to go.
Don't need to use the headphones if you already have a soundbar for your TV with surround sound. The PS5 can output 3d sound through it, the same or better as you would have through the headphones. Also those holes in the band are the holders for the earbuds, which BTW you don't to have plugged into the headset if you use your own surround setup. Hope this helps anyone that wondered.
Hey Wood, just wanted to throw in that one benefit for gesture based controls in VR is that they reduce motion sickness! It's helpful because your brain has a physical motion to relate to the motion it sees in the headset. When the motion is caused by something more passive like pushing an analog stick, you're more likely to get sick. Over time you can certainly get used to the latter though.
I did wonder! I never bought anything VR because I suffer with motion sickness. I would love to give it a go, but paying for something I may not be able to use is a real risk, so good to know they are trying to help with that.
@@charliefen my first VR experience was playing Gorn (which has very physical gesture locomotion) and Space Pirate Trainer (which has no locomotion at all) on a friend's Vive for months. It wasn't until I got my own and tried Skyrim VR that I ever got motion sick. The games and locomotion mode you pick are a huge factor in how you feel in VR.
@@iampinbacker I would love to give it a go, but game stores are disappearing where I am (one of the few times where online isn’t better) and so no way of trying. I don’t think VR has taken off much in the UK, as I know no one with it either!
@@charliefen so I can't play 1st person shooters caz I get sick. I was worried about VR. I wound up going to a fancy new arcade place like Dave and Busters but better and they had Star Wars VR. It was the best gaming experience I've ever had. It moved with me and everything and was very accurate with my movements.
Started to watch someone play Horizon VR who was excited about it and it was such a blast. Made my partner rethink whether having a VR would be fun after all. Not that we can afford one but before seeing the gameplay they also never wanted one. I'm really excited to see where the tech is headed for gaming in the next 5 to 10 years, not just in regards to VR but in general.
Trust me VR is the most fun gaming I had ever had in my 30 years gaming. I still play flatscreen but that is not as fun as in vr since you have full range of movement bringing gameplay to the next level without having to mess with buttons configuration too much
@@toututu2993 Well if VR was the most fun, I guess you haven't tried to play an AR, (Augmented Reality) game. So much better as you can still see your environment.
if you're looking into VR, I suggest waiting to see what happens with the Meta quest 3. Maybe the prices for meta quest 2 will go down, or you can snag a used unit for cheap. Just get yourself a replacement face mold and you'll be golden.
@@jeffreyjohnson5823 VR and AR are completely different topics. In VR you are completely enclosed in a virtual world similar to a 2D flat game. That's what most gamers want not to see their reality but fantastic, immersive worlds with fun gameplay mechanics. AR is dependent on reality e. g. playing a board game down-scaled diorama battle chess or augmenting your flat with objects and wall textures, but very limited in terms of a certain environment if you think of a big first-person game like Resident Evil or Horizon, which would not be possible or fun in AR.
I don't think it feels cheap. I think the materials and design was intentional to make it light and comfortable. Initially it felt like it put too much pressure on my nose but I soon figured out how to get the headset sitting comfortably. As many others have mentioned I wouldn't bother with the stereo ear buds. Use the Pulse Headset. Also, relative to competitors with this kind of hardware, its not expensive. I'm glad they went for a higher end hardware and higher cost. I wouldn't have bothered with it otherwise. The quest 2 isn't really the same market in my opinion. Although I've tried various VR headsets I've never bought into it because the price, hardware and game availability wasn't where I wanted it. PSVR2 ticks my boxes with price and hardware so I'm going to support it and hopefully the games will come. I also hope the product is successful so we get more VR games across all hardware.
The playstation vr (and now 2) is the most forward-pushing and revolutionary headset you can buy. They are changing the entire market and the future of VR. It's a well-worth purchase and I highly recommend getting it because they are bringing top-quality games to it and will continue to make them. In all reality, software updates and the games make a VR headset real, not the hardware. Although the hardware is very good, the games make the price very bearable.
The reason why its uncomfortable for him is because the rear of the halo band is almost parallel to the front of the headset. The rear of the halo band should be lower so it can distribute the weight correctly. From watching the vid its most likely due to his man bun, he could style his bun a little higher so the rear of the halo band can actually rest in the lower part of the back of the head.
@@drgonzo696 Comfort ist okay..its more expensive but you get something for the extra money. Feedback HDR and Eyetracking. I find that complaint strange like it would do nothing better than the Quest 2.
@@Chasm9 I think there's a psychological thing around the fact that the headset costs more than the console, and therefore people think it's expensive rather than actually assessing what the competitors in the market are offering at that price.
I can't put this headset down. I love the launch game lineup and I can't wait for more stuff like The Walking Dead and Firewall. It won't replace my normal video gaming but it provides enough of a difference to keep me pulling it off the shelf. Absolutely love it.
The headset was definitely designed to be used in conjunction with the pulse 3D headphones. I didn’t even bother plugging in the included ear buds and I’ve had 0 issues with sound.

Quest had an exclusivity for RE4, the remake version isn’t expected to be the actual full game. It’s still unknown what exactly it will be. Probably more tech demo than full game experience.
This headset is amazing in my experience. Crazy good looking, quality build, inside out tracking, controllers last plenty long for me and work incredibly well. I’m thoroughly impressed with it. I lold a little bit when this guy follows up “this is over priced” with “this is a pretty affordable way to do this”
@@catcrapinahat yes I did/do. The PSVR 1 was a lot of fun and Sony did a good job with what they were working with. It was far from perfect. But there is no comparison to a PSVR 2. I’m amazed at the quality. A lot of naysayers are either expecting a holodeck or are VR enthusiasts/reviewers who have to find something to nitpick. The psvr2 isn’t perfect by any means, but it has exceeded my expectations by a fairly large margin.
@@renta5177 thanks for the honest reply, I very much enjoy the psvr but the blurriness and small fov were my biggest problems with the system. I am strongly considering getting the psvr2 and hoping it was a big enough step up to be worth it.
@@catcrapinahat PSVR2 is dope. I bought PSVR for RE7 and PSVR2 for Village. It's insanely impressive the visual clarity that PSVR2 provides and literally no motion sickness whatsoever. I was really surprised because it took like a week of mini sessions before I could play RE7 for long periods of time. Haven't experienced motion sickness once with PSVR2. As with all VR headsets, sometimes the controls can get wonky and cleaning the lenses is an absolute nightmare but once you're in there and immersed, there's nothing else like it. I honestly have no idea why so many people are nit picking the bitching about the thing. It's baller tech and if you like VR and have a PS5 and can afford PSVR2, you really can't go wrong.
I feel conflicted with it. On one hand, it's worth the price of admission just for Resident Evil: Village(It's THAT incredible, with Moss: Book 2 coming in second place for me personally.), including the upcoming Resident Evil 4: VR Mode, possible Astro Bot Rescue mission sequel(or port) etc. But i just can't get past being tethered to a cable in 2023. It's that immersion breaking barrier that practically destroys stand up VR imo. That, and it's using a high persistence display. Meaning, in order to get decent brightness it sacrifices motion clarity. The higher you raise the VR brightness slider the more head movement motion blur you'll get, which is the last thing you wan't in VR. We're supposed to be preventing motion sickness, not creating it. Quest 3 has a 1ms persistence(Zero motion blur) at at least 100nits, which spanks what the PSVR2 is cooking. For best motion clarity on PSVR2, drop the VR brightness down to zero, you'll get a 2ms persistence @60nits. Won't be viable for most people though since the image is too dim and bleak at that setting. The 4th point gets you to 110nits, comparable to Quest 2, but with noticeably more head movement blur with PSVR2. Double edged sword. I think most people will be able to find a happy medium though. I also can't stand the bulky cumbersome ring'd controllers, small sweet spot, chunky fat front visor and it's not as comfortable as the PSVR1 either. it's a little front-heavy or harsh around the nose, you'll start to really feel it at about 30 minutes. Sony shot themselves in the foot with this thing, aesthetically, and when it comes to some of it's feature/design choices. We already need a revision, stat!. :P Here's what I'd like to see > Wireless to PS5 connection Slimmer/flatter front visor Pancake lenses for wide sweet spot Ring-less VR Quest 3-like controllers Micro-OLED display boasting a 1ms persistence @110nits+ More comfortable (Around nose area)
It’s my first time experience with VR of any kind, I got the new PSVR2 and, let’s say I was crazily amazed, I suffer from insane insane motion dizziness and didn’t get much of it from VR2, I bought the kayak game and was blown away by how clear and fluid it is. Also it doesn’t need a dedicated monitor for it which I just learnt, you just need the headset itself as a screen.
6:53 It's not technically black-and-white but infrared; you're seeing a very low-spectrum light band invisible to the naked eye, but in this mode you can see all kinds of IR signals. For example, try looking at your phone with its screen off while in this IR mode; you will likely see a blinking light for determining if you're looking at your phone. You can also clearly see a ring of lights in the controllers themselves, & other tech.
Psvr2 is great. Its a really impressive bit of kit. And the current library is actually pretty strong, GT7 is an amazing game in VR. Horizon is cool showcase, albeit linear. And stuff like no man's sky and RE8 are great. Even the Star Wars upgrade is v good. Everything I've played has been impressive and I Still want to try Moss 1 and 2 and Rez infinite. And I'm really looking forward to Twister Metal Vr.. which is heavily rumored. Psvr2 just needs some more announcements...who knows... maybe it will be a fleeting success and forgotten in 2 years..but so far its excellent and has tons of potential. I prefer it over my PC headsets
Horizon: Climb of the mountain is actually good and fun. I've played it for about 6 hours today, and I would say that if everyone didn't have expectations of what they think it should be based on the previous games that they'd actually like it. It's good for what it is and the particle effects, smoke, burning embers floating through the air, etc. look top-notch AAA. It's not a half-baked demo.
@@Jdb63 just beat it, thought it was great. The remaster is very good, it uses the new sense controllers too and the visuals are very sharp on the psvr2 and high res. Gonna get book 2 in a few weeks
The PSVR2 actually feels like a premium product, if you watch the official PSVR2 breakdown video they dismantle the whole headset into its constituent parts, its a miracle of engineering and weighs less than the original 2016 PSVR, I am glad Sony built this headset because if one of the big PCVR or Meta HMD manufacturers produced it they would be asking a lot more money for it, just look at the $1500 Quest Pro for instance and that does not even have OLED-HDR displays.
yea I'm so confuses about people complaining about price. It's plug and play. PSVR1 you needed to buy the move controllers and Camera separately and it was outdated on arrival. This is 600 dollars for top end VR.
@@scottd7222 That is the thing, and then they also bemoan the fact that it has a cable connected to the PS5, but they do not tell us how big of a battery they would be willing to except in a wireless PSVR2 that could power it for meaningful lengths of play time before a recharge is required, it would need to be a very powerful battery. Then there is the unknown effects of attaching a high powered wireless streaming VR headset to your head for several hours while you play a game streamed from the PS5, there is still a thing about holding mobile phones to your head for long periods of time, I just think a thin cable tethered to the headset is the best and safest option until battery technology makes a big leap forward.
@@techinfusions NON IONIZING RADIATING IS SAFE. Aka wifi signals and other radio signals. The real reason for the cable is because you just cant pump a 4k image at 120 FPS with HDR and all the data about the position of the controllers, headset, eye tracking, etc through wireless. I mean you could technically run some VR headsets wireless, but you really need god tier wifi and even then you will suffer from compressed video signals that won’t look as nice. Most people wouldn’t have the wifi infrastructure to support even a blocky, artifacty video signal. Sony wants to make sure everyone has a good baseline level of experience and thats why I believe they went wireless. Battery Is easy to solve, as you can add a battery to get 2 hours or so of battery life that doesn’t take up much space or weigh a lot, and because its VR most people have to take a break after 30 minutes to an hour anyway. So real reason for cable is to send all that high resolution video at 120 frames per second with no latency.
@@BeatsbyVegas The wi-fi infrastructure in your house is irrelevant since the VR headset will only communicate with the PS5. All that matters is the wi-fi speed between the PS5 and the headset. PS5 has a a latest wi-fi chip that is better than Xbox but is debatable if that would have been enough. With HD only it would but don't know about 4k etc. It will probably need wi-fi 7 for that. I think a big issue is the battery. It will limit your time, add a hassle for you since you have to charge it, add to the cost and add to the weight as well. The issues with going wireless are much more than the hassle of tolerating that one cable so Sony went with the cable.
It’s a little frustrating hearing the "I don’t like this" and "I don’t like that" I was new to opening this same package and I was utterly blown away, if I wanted no earphones I just plugged them in the receptacles on the side of the headset and set sound to TV. You can also use any Bluetooth headset including the pulse headset which I also have. If the rubber is hurting your face instead of just resting then you haven’t put the headset on properly. The face part of the headset is only bought close to your eyes once you have the headband correctly tightened. This is not expensive, the PSVR 1 was more money for a lot less, buy the cheap charging dock designed specifically for the controllers. There is nothing even close to this setup for the money and the experience.
Nothing about this headset is cheap. The rubber is medical grade silicon, and it’s awesome. The earbuds are completely unnecessary because we all have headsets, and the tech is excellent.
I'll be honest - the earbuds that come with the system aren't that awful, but they also aren't the best out there. You can just push them into the holes above where they dangle to "store" them. I actually like the black plastic stuff versus the others where they are harder on your face. I don't even feel it and it blacks it out really well. PSVR2 has been such a treat and there are some really fun games already on it!
It’s comments like this that hype me up even more and give me that fun feeling of excitement in the pit of my stomach :- ) maybe I pick this up around Christmas… currently playing other games so not ready for this yet.
I leave the audio on the tv so it’s coming through my surround sound system. It’s really cool that people can watch you play on the TV while you’re using the headset. Being the backseat driver yelling out helpful hints or snark adds a couch co-op vibe. The game library is set to rapidly expand this year so it’s definitely worth considering, especially if you like hyper realistic style graphics and immersive/RP adventure games. The eye tracking is really nice and makes aiming and menu navigation a breeze. I hope game devs keep using that feature.
Audio is one thing I'm worried about when mine arrives I have a reverb G2 with the off ear valve designed speakers. I'll be honest, for VR it kinda ruins any other audio solution for me. Best balance between quality and comfort
It is great. Gran Turismo 7 is spectacular in VR. Too bad I had to return it after 5 days as I spotted a dead pixel or dust on the left lens, which was driving me insane.
These videos are so enjoyable because I actually know the emotion evoked by them. The feeling of opening up new tech and games and experiencing them for the first time is one of the greatest joys of video games (even if it comes with gross asf earbuds)
With the Psvr2 gaming feels fresh and exciting again for me. Already had a Psvr1 so my motion sickness already disappeared long ago. Absolutely have a blast playing Resident Evil Village and GT7. Also have a lot of fun with Call of the mountain, Pavlov and Kayak vr. For the price it is definitely worth it especially compared to the other vr headsets with similar specs (which are much more expensive).
You should give Moss: Book 2 a chance, it's another brilliant VR show case and probably my second favorite PSVR2 title next to Resident Evil Village, which is the number one reason to own a PSVR2, and the same thing will probably apply to the upcoming Resident Evil 4: VR Mode. Incredible stuff, Capcom out did themselves. My only beef with it, is that it doesn't run at 90fps since the PS5 just isn't powerful enough. Maybe the PS5 Pro can get the job done, once it releases in winter 2024. For now, we have to deal with the dreaded motion duplication effect from 60 reprojection. And I wish they'd port over 'Ocean Descent' from PSVR Worlds on PSVR1(Shark dive was amazing and an absolute blast to show off to friends and family. PSVR2 doesn't seem to have any theme park VR-like attractions unfortunately.) . An Astro Bot Rescue Mission port would be also fantastic, including Half Life Alex and Resident Evil 7.
Vr is great and I hope psvr 2 is successful, and for that it will need some good lineup, so far we have some great games. Hoping for more vr content on this channel
The Light Brigade is amazing! Such great VR game. It's so fun to play semi room scale, crouching and hiding behind cover. It has great atmosphere and super addictive gameplay. 🙏
The PSVR2 looks like an incredible overall VR experience. I wish I could try it at least once. Thankfully though I do have a Quest 2 and a VR capable PC so I'm not missing out on *too* much.
Yeah definitely doesnt seem like enough of a difference to justify the massive increase in price from quest 2. especially since steam vr library is so much bigger
@@Ethos10128 Well, if you also count the SteamVR library you also have to account for the cost of a VR capable PC, which in itself will cost more than 1000$, combine that with a 400$ Quest 2 and now you're paying 1400$, 400$ more than a PSVR setup
@@thomaskast7842 A VR ready PC only cost $1000 if you don't know how to shop, and im more talking about the people who already have PCs. Plus PCs have ALOT more uses than a PS5 on top of gaming + VR gaming. And on top of that being able to get custom content in alot of VR games adds ALOT of value to those games, beatsaber, pavlov being a couple good examples. and then even on top of that, you can torrent games on PC potentially cutting the cost of games down to $0 from the PS5s insane price tags. Or you can buy CD keys for steam at heavily discounted prices. Also no PSplus for online play It may be slightly more on entry but in the long run you save ALOT
I definitely understand being upset about built in audio, I originally had the OG vive for years but then I got a quest 2 and the built in audio is a complete game changer honestly.....makes games and experiences way more enjoyable plus your ears can hurt after while a playing vr if you play for a while with headphones
@Scott D you mean playing it on speakers? If so it's not really the same plus everyone in you house (unless you live alone) is gonna be hearing you play all the time......plus it's never gonna be as good since it's not directly next to your ear and in a certain area only
I was also harshly disappointed at the beginning regarding the muraeffect. Then I set the screen brightness to 50% and it was much better but still there. Then I noticed that it was suddenly extremely sharp and it was because I was closer to the lens and the eye tracking worked perfectly.
In case someone didn't say this already, you have the back of the headset way too far up your head. It should be almost at your neck. That made a huge difference in comfort for me. When you have it too high, the headset is basically resting all it's weight on your face, which I imagine is why it was hurting you.
Looks like he has it on fine, the visor is level with his face, plus he has a PSVR 1. It should fit like how you'd wear a hat. He was saying the eyebox gasket and earbuds were uncomfortable, didn't say anything about his head.
You are wrong sir. If you wear it that low the plastic head band will be over your ears. It is designed to be worn like he is wearing it so you can wear over the head, head phones.
@Fritos Pie Fine, on the same plane that you'd wear a hat. Happy? The point is Wood isn't wearing it wrong, and his issues with comfort are not to do with the headband.
@Brent Smith the headband is supposed to carry most of the weight. He is wearing incorrectly. Headband should sit slightly under the halfway point back of the head.
With the on rails segments of the game at first it felt pretty tech demo-like. But later in the game the devs make it more interesting some there's a couple areas where your actually not stuck on rails.
When I got mine i didn't realise how light it was like it felt a bit cheap. But after using it for a while it's pretty good. I don't like how VR games do the snap turning so i turn it off for more fluid turning while walking and climbing.
as someone who owns psvr2 this is a VERY accurate depiction of what its like playing. you HAVE to have a headset vs the earbuds they give you. the headset does hurt my head and so much so i havent had the controllers die on me cuz i get a headache first. but the games are gorgeous and its a lot of fun and if you have a spare $600+ then you should definitely get it. its absolutely amazing so much fun
I’m actually surprised (by looking at all the stuff in your room) that you don’t have the wireless Pulse 3D headset. I threw those corny ear buds over my shoulder and put on the Pulse headset. Post haste. I suggest the same. Good stuff
3:21 the wrap around is usually done for tracking purposes. And hand tracking is often done with capacitive touch (or cameras if you're not holding a controller).
PSVR2 is so life changing for me as a deep Sony fan and I must say I cannot put GT7 down with PSVR2, its beautiful incredible a competitive advantage an accomplishment - I freaking love it
Prime example of let the customers do the marketing. Like you said the release literally came out of nowhere and now every PS and PCVR gamer is talking about it, and how impressive it is.
Love seeing you make some more Playstation content! I've been loving the PSVR2, but totally agree with your points about the audio for sure (I've also been having some weird issues with my controllers not charging which is a bummer). I think you're totally right that the big winner is the eye tracking - I feel WAY less motion sick in this than the Quest 2 and I think that must be why. The OLED screen is definitely cool to have, especially for playing non-VR games in cinema mode - it's been really beautiful playing any PS5 game. The fact that it's corded seems really weird to me with Quest being it's main competitor, but mostly enjoying it so far! Thank you for the video!
the biggest thing i'm always worried about with vr tech like this is i wear glasses. i'm friggin blind without them and i feel like these VR creators aren't keeping that in mind as a large portion of the populace is glasses wearers
PSVR 2 is very glasses friendly, trust me. I’ve got short distance vision and everything further than my arm length is blurry. So glad I can wear glasses
The psvr2 is $549.99 without call of the mountain. This tech is amazing and as long as the catalog builds with great titles over time. Which I believe it will. This is the new top dog in VR category and at a great price point for the tech. Also pulse headphones rule with this
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that there are 49million kangaroos in Australia and 3.5million people in Uruguay which means if the kangaroos were to invade Uruguay each person will have to fight 14 kangaroos.
I think for the audio it’s only a personal preferences. For me, I much prefer those earbuds than external speakers on the device. I even bought something similar to that for my Quest 2. I also had the same earbuds setup for my PSVR and never had any issues. And regarding the quality of the headset, from what I heard its better than PSVR and that one was amazing quality wise. As a big VR user, you want manufacturers to use the lightest plastic they can get for their VR headset as the lightest it is, the better it will be for longer sessions.
Top review 👌 Regarding the rubber rubbish on the inside of the headset ( which is a load of bollox at this price ) I found putting a head sweatband on made a massive difference to the comfortably if you planning a long game session.
Excellent video, thanks Wood! Creative and funny as always. It helped me decide and I will get this VR set :) I might wait a bit tho, maybe end of year Black Friday discount? One might hope
Like the VR headsets that came before it, the PSVR2 looks really cool. But I haven't gotten on the VR bandwagon yet because even $300-400 seems too steep for an accessory that only works with a pretty limited selection of games. So, unless they start selling them for closer to $250, I doubt I'll be getting one.
I'll agree with you that the headset feels a bit cheap compared to other headsets (even the OG PSVR), but I think that's to cut down on weight. I agree on the audio as well. As much as I see it as a neat little solution physically, I hate in ear solutions and liked the speaker solution on the quest 2. The pulse ear phones do really fit well with the headset though (and they're wireless), but of course that's more money. The tech inside the headset is not cheap by any means - if you were to buy the eye tracking on it's own, it would set you back over $200. So, add to that the OLED displays, the haptics in both the headband and the controllers (which would/will probably be well over $100 on their own) and suddenly it doesn't look so expensive. Just a recommendation for the halo headband, you said it's hurting your head, which would indicate to me that you're tightening it too much........which is understandable considering your long hair. My daughter had real problems getting the headset to stay in the right position (especially with the sweet spot being so narrow on this headset) until I told her to try putting the back of the headband under her long hair. It was a bit fiddly to start with (putting her hair through the band before her head) but it solved the problem completely and she hardly had to tighten it at all. The easier alternative would of course be to have a high pony tail and put the back of the headband under it (it looked like you had a little pony tail at one point in the video, but the back of the headband was above it)
@@lorddrifter7296 Agreed. I was huge into Quest 2 but after a while I just got tired of standing while gaming and having to wear this thing on my face. Nothing is quite like sitting at home on the couch with my feet up playing a game on the TV.
You don’t have to use the earbuds. You can use any wireless/wired audio device. $550 for the PSVR2 is a steal compared to other VRs when you factor in the price for a PC and PS5 into the equation.
You are so wrong about the headphones. The quest cannot deliver good 3d sound using onboard speakers. Its recommended you use headphones on quest too. The PSVR2 give lots of options too, TV speakers, wired earbuds or wireless headset.
YOU CAN USE ANY HEADPHONES! ❤😂 just wanted to shout out, they advertised this and that’s why there is a jack on the headset so you can plug in any headphone. (Also works with bloutooth headset like the pulse3D)
Whenever I play a VR game that does require some travel, I have to bounce up and down in real life to let my brain know we are traveling. You look..."exciteable" BUT no motion sickness.
The audio really isnt that bad on the included earbuds….also there is literally a slot on the headset on each side to store them so they aren’t dangling. The psvr 1 even had them
The most impressive PSVR1 feature was the vast library. It was an absolute outlier in VR. The sheer lack of content *at launch* for PSVR2 is sincerely baffling, notably with the ubiquity of cross-VR-platform content we've seen even in the few years since the PSVR1 & the PSVR2. Bottom line, if it was "mostly" backwards compatible, I'd be insisting on people buying it. By contract, we still can't even test to see if a HOTAS joystick works on PSVR2 as there is somehow no flight sim of any kind at launch (note No Man's Sky is functional as a flight sim in VR but does not support a HOTAS by design, rather than by a hardware limitation).
That's my only complaint about the headset. The PSVR1 was way more comfortable. I get the exact same pain on the exact same spot on my head from the headset. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's that or eye fatigue getting to me. They really cheaped out with the materials. Well ... crappy batteries too but 🤷♂️.
I loved it! I usually don't comment under any videos, but I love when you do videos what are other than Switch based. Keep up the good work, I'm happpy you are feeling better and you are back! :D
Thanks for sharing your review of the PSVR2! It sounds like an impressive piece of technology. Back in my day, we were lucky if we had a simple joystick to play with. Interestingly enough, I was having a chat with Doctor Hermann the other day, down in the morgue. He was telling me about how he used to love playing video games in his younger days, but he had to stop because they made his arthritis act up. Doctor Hermann recommended that I look into the PSVR2, though, because he said that the headset's advanced motion tracking and hand controllers might actually be easier on the joints than traditional gaming controllers. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, but it's certainly something to consider. Of course, I'm not sure if my reflexes are still up to par for gaming, but I'm intrigued! It reminds me of that time I tried one of those old View-Masters as a kid, where you could look at pictures in 3D. I bet this PSVR2 thing is like that, but even better!
I have the wireless “Pulse 3D” headset. I keep the stupid earbuds plugged in and stick them in those holders on the back in case my Pulse set runs out of battery. And yeah… I bought the charging dock for the controllers and they need it. When fully charged they get about 4 hours, and that’s plenty for most of my VR sessions but they basically have to be charging whenever they are not in use.
Just an FYI if you put more tension on the back it puts more pressure on the headband. When doing this it relieves the stress on the nose and forehead.
I've never wavered so much over returning a product. One second I love it and the next a voice says 'You idiot you've wasted 500 quid!'. Still not sure what to do but at least you have 30 days to decide.
Gosh, I understand you so well! I've asked for a refund and it's next to me today packaged. Tomorrow I will drop it to an UPS point relay but still continues to watch videos today about review and upcoming games!
RE4 VR showed the way on how to make a VR game. Just develop the same way you'd develop a console game. These companies are too focused on the VR element, and they're missing the actual game.

I agree. Ive owned the original Vive and the Index, this one blows them out of the water in terms of blocking light
True
If it’s anything like psvr1 ima take it off because it really hurts after like a hour
Also, if you wear glasses, it's an absolute blessing.
I got the psvr2 for Gt7. It rocked my world. The next day I spent 1700 on a wheel, shifter and seat. I’ve had it for three days and its been incredible.

I just turned 40 and I’m trying to turn the page on that stage of my life. vr sim racing is cheap in comparison and I get to drive way more cars lol. Almost the same, but slightly cheaper )) I guess because I 38)))
Don't need to use the headphones if you already have a soundbar for your TV with surround sound.

I still play flatscreen but that is not as fun as in vr since you have full range of movement bringing gameplay to the next level without having to mess with buttons configuration too much
Plus Quest 2 is cheapest gaming device in general since you not only have full vr experience but with all the built in for a standalone headset.
This headset is amazing in my experience. Crazy good looking, quality build, inside out tracking, controllers last plenty long for me and work incredibly well. I’m thoroughly impressed with it. I lold a little bit when this guy follows up “this is over priced” with “this is a pretty affordable way to do this”
Did you have the first psvr? And if yes how much of a difference in field of view and clarity do you notice?
:P Here's what I'd like to see >
Wireless to PS5 connection
Slimmer/flatter front visor
Pancake lenses for wide sweet spot
Ring-less VR Quest 3-like controllers
Micro-OLED display boasting a 1ms persistence @110nits+
More comfortable (Around nose area)

It’s my first time experience with VR of any kind, I got the new PSVR2 and, let’s say I was crazily amazed, I suffer from insane insane motion dizziness and didn’t get much of it from VR2, I bought the kayak game and was blown away by how clear and fluid it is. Also it doesn’t need a dedicated monitor for it which I just learnt, you just need the headset itself as a screen.
Ok this is the best vr video I have seen. Showing how your playing and the screen at the same time is very helpful
And I'm really looking forward to Twister Metal Vr.. which is heavily rumored.

Feels light not cheap. This thing f’ing rips I’m loving it more each day 🎉
I'm assuming the earbuds are so crap because they're placeholder for what they really want you to be using, which is the Pulse 3D headset
Love when Wood comes outs to do something out of the Switch content(also great) Loving this video
Nothing about this headset is cheap. The rubber is medical grade silicon, and it’s awesome. The earbuds are completely unnecessary because we all have headsets, and the tech is excellent.
Medical grade…?

The earbuds actually sound good. They're turned down to 50% out of the box.
Yeah but they’re earbuds. Earbuds feel cheaper then headsets.
Audio is one thing I'm worried about when mine arrives
I have a reverb G2 with the off ear valve designed speakers. I'll be honest, for VR it kinda ruins any other audio solution for me. Best balance between quality and comfort
I thought the earbuds that came with it were great tbh, surprised to hear in this video that they weren’t good
I liked the earbuds but the Pulse 3D headphones work perfectly with the headset

In case someone didn't say this already, you have the back of the headset way too far up your head. It should be almost at your neck. That made a huge difference in comfort for me. When you have it too high, the headset is basically resting all it's weight on your face, which I imagine is why it was hurting you.

You and arlo are easily the best advertisers on "video Game UA-cam" I actually don't skip ahead or ignore their sponsorship segments.
**SPONS HAS ENTERED THE CHAT**
as someone who owns psvr2 this is a VERY accurate depiction of what its like playing. you HAVE to have a headset vs the earbuds they give you. the headset does hurt my head and so much so i havent had the controllers die on me cuz i get a headache first. but the games are gorgeous and its a lot of fun and if you have a spare $600+ then you should definitely get it. its absolutely amazing so much fun
The difference between the Psvr2 & the meta2 are noticeable after a few minutes of playing. The psvr2 is Worth double what we paid!! It is awesome!!
The misspelled "subscribe" wall art really accentuates the VR experience from a viewer's perspective.
This doesn’t cost 600 dollars, it cost 1100 dollars because you have to get the PS5 with it to even play compared to the 400 dollar quest by itself
Don't you need a PC for quest?
400 and has the power of a cellphone.
It needs a PC to really shine.
Will you give me the 1700€ I need for the PC?
PSVR2 is so life changing for me as a deep Sony fan and I must say I cannot put GT7 down with PSVR2, its beautiful incredible a competitive advantage an accomplishment - I freaking love it
lmfao simping for a video game console.
@@ENGRtube what are you talking about? 🤡
It’s $819 in Canada. Every store is fully stocked just sitting on them. Such a rip off.
Use the Pulse 3D Headest over the headset for a much better sound experience
Mine sounds super bad 😞
Thats strange... mine sounds just like it does without VR... Im a big fan.
Had none of the issues you mentioned, just for gt7 on its own for me it’s worth it and class leading in the world
This is my 1st vr and i love it
Prime example of let the customers do the marketing. Like you said the release literally came out of nowhere and now every PS and PCVR gamer is talking about it, and how impressive it is.
Yes because they are paid shills. Dude
I'm not getting it because of it's price but I hope this paves the way for better integration such as the eye tracking for future head sets
You can wear your glasses with the headset
Plenty of room for glasses on this headset. I wear glasses myself. You can also get some cover lens made with your prescription from a eye test.
Most headsets can be comfortably worn with glasses.
I wear glasses. They are pretty big glasses. Absolutely no issues with the PSVR or the PSVR2
PSVR 2 is very glasses friendly, trust me. I’ve got short distance vision and everything further than my arm length is blurry. So glad I can wear glasses
My PSVR2 is just sitting on a table in it's shipping box, but watching this makes me want to play with it now
The psvr2 is $549.99 without call of the mountain.
I loved the ear buds too, was shocked to see them get so much stick in this video. Each to their own I guess!
Top review 👌
Regarding the rubber rubbish on the inside of the headset ( which is a load of bollox at this price ) I found putting a head sweatband on made a massive difference to the comfortably if you planning a long game session.
This is one of your best videos, keep up the good work!
Excellent video, thanks Wood! Creative and funny as always. It helped me decide and I will get this VR set :) I might wait a bit tho, maybe end of year Black Friday discount? One might hope
5:18 FYI, you don’t need to actually put in the headphones. When it told me to do that I was like ‘…no’ and I got through the setup fine.
Psvr+ps5 costs less than vr headset + capable pc.
@@Yoko.Kurama Its still very expensive for the average person even if PC cost more.
@@Yoko.Kurama Yeah, that sounds accurate. It doesn't change anything I said in my comment, though.
@@wdbisl you can’t call it expensive when its literally the cheapest option for high quality VR. It’s not trying to be a Quest 2
To each their own. But for context, more than 100 games have already been announced for the PSVR2...and it's been less than one week since launch.
The easier alternative would of course be to have a high pony tail and put the back of the headband under it (it looked like you had a little pony tail at one point in the video, but the back of the headband was above it)
I also buyed a Psvr2 and it was the first time i ever played any VR game. Its gonna be hard to go back to regular flatscreen gaming after this..
It will wear off after a bit trust lol
@@lorddrifter7296 Agreed. I was huge into Quest 2 but after a while I just got tired of standing while gaming and having to wear this thing on my face. Nothing is quite like sitting at home on the couch with my feet up playing a game on the TV.
You should try Resident Evil 8 in VR. Bring diapers and good luck.
The original VR is actually still one of the most successful headsets on the market. Probably only beaten by quest 2
You don’t have to use the earbuds. You can use any wireless/wired audio device. $550 for the PSVR2 is a steal compared to other VRs when you factor in the price for a PC and PS5 into the equation.
Quest 2 on PC is better
You are so wrong about the headphones. The quest cannot deliver good 3d sound using onboard speakers. Its recommended you use headphones on quest too.
The PSVR2 give lots of options too, TV speakers, wired earbuds or wireless headset.
YOU CAN USE ANY HEADPHONES! ❤😂 just wanted to shout out, they advertised this and that’s why there is a jack on the headset so you can plug in any headphone. (Also works with bloutooth headset like the pulse3D)
You gave me Frank Whaley vibes in the honey ad. And now you're just Frank Whaley and I cant unsee it
Resident Evil 8 and Gran Turismo 7 are both amazing. Almost worth the $600 alone
But me one please
love that you're back & hope you are feeling much better!!!!
Ok i have to admit, that was the best sponsor segment i’ve ever seen in my life
Whenever I play a VR game that does require some travel, I have to bounce up and down in real life to let my brain know we are traveling.
Thumbs up for your Bernese mountain dog! They’re the best

I loved it! I usually don't comment under any videos, but I love when you do videos what are other than Switch based. Keep up the good work, I'm happpy you are feeling better and you are back! :D
4th creator to open the box upside down and this makes me happy
It must be said. That dog is precious.
VR gaming is the way forward. Once I experienced it myself, I never went back to flat screen gaming
If you aren't the brother / twin of the Taking Back Sunday singer, there's a glitch in the Matrix😂
Your critique so far “the headset vibrates” which sounds cool for vr and plugging the headphones. 😂
Thanks for commenting….I got something for you 🛍️🛍️🛍️.
RE4 VR showed the way on how to make a VR game. Just develop the same way you'd develop a console game. These companies are too focused on the VR element, and they're missing the actual game.
Your sponsor segments are some of the most entertaining I’ve seen on YT! 👍
11:39 i lost it at this point.😂😂
Thanks for commenting….I got something for you 🛍️🛍️
I think this review was not worth the upload lmao
You can use any headset you want not just the little ear buds. I personally don’t use a headset just the sound from my tv cuz it has great sound.
Dang this just made the "when I'm rich" list! Looks amazing
Watched a lot of psvr2 reviews. Yours is the best one I’ve seen so far. Nice work Wood!
