I love it!! but most of all I love how much you all enjoyed seeing more of the real behind the scenes of sweater design. It's not all sunshine and rainbows but that doesn't mean you should give up 😊 When my yarn life gives me lemons, I like to make yarn lemonade 😂 and even if you have to be a little scrappy 😉 it's totally fine as long as you make something you like!

Sharing that you can have mistakes and still look to have something that is beautiful is very inspiring to others. Of course every time people make a mistake it's not going to go as well as it did for you, but it still makes people think oh someone who is clearly quite skilled can still make a mistake. It's all just kind of inspiring, plus it just looks really good on you too.

Thank you for showing this in more detail! I am curious, how did you tie off/weave in the elastic thread? I have a too large crochet sweater I'd love to try this with.

I used a ply from one of the yarn tails and tied a tight knot with it and the elastic. The knot was so secure I was confident in cutting the ends pretty short💕

I love how you salvaged the sweater, and how cohesive all the scrap yarn colours are! It's so visually appealing :O

This is so great! How were you able to hide the colour of the white elastic against the black yarn?

Do you know how you would do the drop stitch in crochet?

You can get a similar effect with something called "broomstick crochet." Where you crochet around a big broomstick (or big knitting needle). You can also do a bunch of kinds of lace that way too 😊

It's the process that's important not the outcome! That's what I tell myself anyway.. I'm definitely feeling a little more confident in trying knitting as well as crochet now, even if the outcome is pretty unique!! I.e. Not fit for public viewing 😂
