For the creative writing, I've found it much easier to let my daughter use speak to text on the iPad for the story she is coming up with. She then goes back and rereads and edits as necessary. We work on handwriting separately so this way just helps her be creative without being slowed down by being slow at handwriting which is the main reason she dislikes writing.
My 9 year old has been playing stack the states for a few months and is excited to start learning about the 50 states. My kids also love art and I can also see that they would prefer making their own drawings. I know they will love to do the Texas activity. Thank you so much for your review, it has helped me decide to choose the right curriculum.
Thank you for this review. You answered my question of if the bundle comes with the correct literature books needed. Looking on the site, they showed different books in the bundle which confused me. I am wanting to teach my kids about the states this year. I want more of a faith based history. But this seems to have a little. And seems more age appropriate than some of the others that I have been considering.
There are 104 lessons which will take 26 weeks doing 4 lessons a week. Each state has 2 lessons, plus Washington DC and US Territories. It is designed to do 4 days a week, 2 states each week.
I think it took us about 20 minutes to read the book and orally go over the lesson review. Then she did the workbook on her own for maybe about 10 minutes. I don't think the workbook is necessary, it really depends if your kid likes to color. If they do they might enjoy it, if not they probably wouldn't care for it.
@@homeontheplains Thank you. I think then that I would skip the workbooks. But I might have a USA map that they can color each state as they finish learning about it, and maybe even buy a usa puzzle.

This is what we will be using this coming year and we can't wait to dive in!
My library had all the books ❤️

Thanks for the advice to read the questions before the chapter. I’m just about to start this curriculum with my daughters 😊
Thank you, I really appreciate the honest review.
How long would it take to complete if you do 4 days a week?

How long does it take you to do each lesson daily? And do you think the workbook is a very valuable component?
