I think the big question is how this compares directly with the JVC NZ7 as both are in the same price class. Does JVC still do a better job with black floor and frame by frame dynamic tone mapping? How does calibrated brightness compare? Thanks.
The 695 was a great projector. The 6000 will be much brighter, with an improved processor and better lens, plus you will get the pure colors laser offers. In other words, a pretty big jump up in performance. Thanks for watching
Great Video. Good information. What do you mean by “the ability to do wide screen?” Is it just zoom out the black bars? Lens memory? Or does it come with anamorphic mode and dont need anamorphic lens to get rid of the black bars?
@@AudioAdvice Thanks for the reply. Is the anamorphic mode adjustable for IMAX format on Disney+ or strictly only for wide screen movie with black bars?
@@madhuandra7 We did not have the units long enough to test with any Panamorph lens. But you should be able to use another lens memory to work on 1.90.
Really torn between this and the JVC NZ 7 that has the 8K pixel shift and better HDMI ports. but the picture on the Sony looks much better and more detailed, hard to tell without seeing them properly calibrated next to one another
We like the Stewart ST 130 G4 material which has an actual gain of 1.3. If you had a 100” or smaller screen you could consider their 1.0 gain Snowmatte.

I preordered the XW6000es projector and I am SO CONFUSED on the 3D compatibility of this projector. I read the Owners Manual on the Sony website and it says: "To view a 3D image, you need to connect a 3D sync transmitter (commercially available). Connect the 3D SYNC OUT terminal (mini jack) on the projector to the BNC connector on the 3D sync transmitter with a connecting cable (not supplied)." 3D is the most important feature of spending an extra $6000 over the XW5000es. Im coming from a Sony VPL-VW295 where my XPAND 105 glasses just work. Is this not the case with this model? And what the heck does all this mean? I looked online and all i can find is 3D emitters for other projectors that use a 3 pin Din connection and not a mini jack. So what do I need to buy? Please help, Even Sony's dedicated ES customer service phone number is clueless (saying the projector was just announced and I will find out in a month or so). This is crazy that I dropped $12000 on this product and even Sony does not know what I need to get 3D to work. Crazy. I'm thinking of dropping my preorder and going with a JVC NZ Series. At least they have their own 3D emitter I can purchase. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I wanted to ask you about the VPL XW 6000 laser projector. If the laser goes out later down the line, will it be possible to have it replaced? I know it takes a long time for that to happen but I just want peace of mind. I like to know that it can be replaced if needed. If not now, maybe in the future?
If it is under warranty then Sony will replace it. However, the laser's can last a very long time. For example, if you used it 3.5 hours a day, the laser will last around 15 years! By that time technology will be much further advanced and you will be ready for an upgrade anyways. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks! I asked Sony and they said they can replace the laser. I understand what you are saying. The way I am going to use it, it will last a long time. I’m only watching movies on it on weekends. It’ll last about 32 years or more with me.

Europe does not get the Sony 6000 which is a direct rival to the JVC Z7. The Sony 5000 apparently only has plastic lenses and no means of showing 3d so I would avoid the Sony 5000 and in Europe that means the JVC will be the most popular projector for enthusiasts.
Fan noise, i saw a video on the 5000 and the individual who was on his channel, said the fan noise on the 5000 once they kick on was unbearable, way to loud and he even has a HUSH Box, does the 6000 have the same issue, i am defininetly not building a HUSH Box around a $10,000 projector, not once in your video do you mention FAN NOISE, is it noticable, in future videos i believe FAN NOISE is a concern for everyone so mentioning it in your video would help, especially for $10,000.
He must have had a unit with a problem. We have installed a whole lot of the 5, 6 and 7000, no complaints. We have them all in our showrooms that run 10 hours a day, no issues. They are quiet.
