Close your eyes and imagine you are in a smoke filled room, cocktails flowing and digging the beautiful music. You can smell the cheap perfume everywhere. And Tom is just knocking it out of the park. Love It.

One of the biggest reasons I picked up the trumpet (still very hard for me to play but just hitting the opeing notes is awesome) and now really excited to come across this as I am starting to learn to play keyboards. Thanks for the great tutorial.

You forgot to mention Gil Evans and Bill Evans. Davis played the trumpet and had no part in writing the piano and bass sections of “So What”. Give credit where it’s due. And a little history to clarify.

Actually - I have a video on that topic alone, on Blue in Green which was composed by Bill Evans but still credited to Miles. I don't mention the history in this video (the Kind of Blue album is steeped in history) but this is not a music history lesson, it's a music theory hands-on practical playing class. That's an important distinction to make. The problem also with improvised music of this nature is in reality everyone in the band composed and contributed to the finished piece, but by the workings of the music industry, this was Miles's vision, and it was credited to him. Much could be said about that, but that wasn't the topic I intended to explore when I put this class together.
