Ethiopian Kik Alicha: A Delicious and Nutritious Vegan Dish
If you're looking for a new and exciting vegan dish to try, look no further than Ethiopian Kik Alicha. This traditional Ethiopian dish is made with yellow split peas and a variety of spices, and is both flavorful and nutritious.
One of the great things about Kik Alicha is its versatility. It can be served as a main dish or as a side, and is a great way to add some extra protein to your diet. Yellow split peas are a good source of plant-based protein, fiber, and iron, and are also low in fat and calories.
The main ingredient in Kik Alicha is yellow split peas, which are simmered with onions, garlic, ginger, and a variety of spices. The spices used in this dish typically include turmeric, cumin, coriander, and cardamom, which give it its warm and fragrant flavor.
Kik Alicha is traditionally served with injera, a type of sourdough flatbread that is a staple in Ethiopian cuisine. The flatbread is used to scoop up the Kik Alicha, and the combination of the creamy and flavorful peas with the tangy and spongy injera is truly divine.
Aside from being delicious, Kik Alicha is also incredibly easy to make. It requires only a few simple ingredients and can be prepared in just a few hours, making it the perfect meal for busy weeknights.
In conclusion, Ethiopian Kik Alicha is a delicious and nutritious vegan dish that is both easy to make and packed with flavor. Whether you're a seasoned vegan or just looking to add some variety to your diet, this dish is definitely worth a try. So grab some yellow split peas, your favorite spices, and get ready to experience the delicious flavors of Ethiopian cuisine.

She is awesome! It makes me look like a child when I compare my struggles in life to hers. She has endured some hard choices which impacted her family and yet 31 ish years later she can still smile. Hearing of her daughters death made me teary eyed. She has a wonderful outlook on her life.
Thank you so much for watching it all the way through, she's a beautiful soul I really hope people stop by and say hi to her from this video, she's lovely. I really appreciate you watching it. Thanks so much

Lentils
Onions
Where is recipe for the bere bere spices
Hi it should be in the description of this or the previous video
@@UncleLousKitchen While this video is insighful, it is not informative as it does not include the actual recipe which is frustrating. If you are presenting the video in English and then with translation, this is even MORE reason to post a precise recip for Westerners who are not familiar with the cuisine, Especially if you are calling this series a "Master Class". All "Master Classes" would include detailed written instructions. Including each ingredient and how to source them. This video is not emnabling me to recreate this. It's leaving me stranded with incomplete informatio. Can you post a written recipe with instructions with accurate measurements, ingredients, and instructions? THIS would be the way to grow you channel from 9K to 100K+
Is Chow the same as Awaze?
Hi Danica, I honestly have no idea sorry :( thanks so much for stopping by though
@@UncleLousKitchen no problem, thanks for getting back to me though!
Chow is salt
Awaze is a mixture of Chilli powder with spices made into a hotsauce.
In Addis Abebe Chow means Salt, but in the rural part of Ethiopia Chow means Awaze and salt is Ashabo.
What city was this filmed?
Hi Tehila it's in a place called Yokneam Ilit
She is very energetic and amazing for her age , I thought Selma was a Muslim name ,and the Alicha is not that good ,it looks like Genfo .😬
The very first man to become Muslim was an African named Bilal Also there’s no such thing as a Muslim name you mean a Arabic mean all Arabs I’m not Muslims in fact Indonesia has more Muslims than Saudi Arabia
Ok
