Hey man we appreciate all the work you did into making this guide but you should probably label the major patches that affect your methods within this video (I.e. can't ride horse when overloaded). For anyone watching in the future, many of the exploits mentioned in this video have been patched out. BUT you can still level up some skills for a jumpstart and get all the gold and all the precious objects of the merchants. All you need is to choke one guard that carries a Bow, it's way better if you get one with long distance arrows. Then you can endlessly kill the sheeps that wander in the grass near the combat arena, the long distance arrows will one-shot them, but you need to be careful to get the arrows back since you have only 15. When they all die you just need to run to other side of town in the proximity of the gate and go back, the sheeps will respawn and you can repeat all the times you want. This will level up archery, strength, agility, endurance and hunting much more efficiently than anything mentioned in the video, also you will get infinite meat that you can cook to "lounder" it from the stolen status so you can sell it to the merchants.
The cows also respawn and you can kill them with a sword.
Remember to cook your meat before selling it to Bianca; cooking an item removes the stolen tag from it.

@Nova95sVO It took me a while to understand but it's possible, you need to remove all your clothes to reduce the noise and sneak VERY carefully. If the guard notices you, he will resist the choke 100%. You must approach them while being completely unnoticed to have a chance to succeed.

I can suggest a little improvement:
Get the guard's pike in your hand before giving Theresa her nails, and you will leave Skalits with this 144 damage Pike which is one-hit any Cuman. With this Pike, I get rid of every single one Cuman that attacks Skalits pretty easily from the first try.

**UPDATE**
For anyone wanting to know, I tried some of this recently to see what is still possible. If you really want to grind up stats the only two ways are to either pick a ton of herbs or steal a bow from a guard and shoot cows or sheep.
Stealing from the town seems like a waste of time to me, so I just robbed one guard for some weapons + armor. Forget about fighting the Cumans on foot it's too much of a pain. Just run down to where Theresa is and get on a horse. You can still gallop back and forth while stabbing all the Cuman soldiers. Grabbing a bunch of stuff from them is more than enough to give you a big financial edge.
**One more thing to point out. You can get some lockpicks from Fritz if you get beat up by Kunesh. If you level it up some and get Luck of the Drunk perk, there are a surprising amount of valuables locked away in some of the houses.

I remember a Guard from the beginning at Talmberg. I knocked him out and took his gear and leave the castle. Of course he was naked for the rest of the game, but I was very surprised when st the end of the game when you retake Talmberg, there was a soldier who was naked and got killed near the end of the siege. God bless that man, he was determined.

Although it's somewhat patched, you can exploit the horseback combat still to defeat the cumans, however, you cannot go onto your horse when over-encumbered and, for some reason, when I dropped their stuff - it disappeared.
Also, the bandits near the end of the video are almost impossible to defeat, although you can lure the one at the bridge and choke him out for his gear. After following this guide, I levelled up herbalism to lv 12, and some combat skills during the training and sneak. I finished with a total of 8k stolen which is a farcry from the 108k Camel finishes with.
TL:DR - Do the leveling tips, choke out guards straight after quest saves, kill the cumans on horseback and knock out the one bandit. You'll finish with some early levels and around 8k of stuff.
Still trying to figure out how to choke. I can sneak but no prompt for choke and not sure which button to use on ps4
@@snomisdivad on PlayStation its R2 if I remember correctly. Press R3 to sneak/crouch, go behind the person and press R2.
There's a workaround for getting to Talmberg over-encumbered, after you killed and looted all the Cumans around Theresa's house you just have to walk the road eastwards for a bit, there is the trigger point for the cutscene and you'll arrive with all that loot.
edit: the drawback is that the horse "Olena" won't be at Talmberg castle.
Leg Day is an amazing perk. Makes early combat easier when you have useful levels of strength.
So... They were like, oh we found this guy between life and dead, and a mountain of random stuff next to him, so we hired a caravan of 200 horses to carry his stuff across the country... People really are generous in kd.

Newb player guide is newb.
Best way to gain strength agility and vitality is by hunting the cattle and sheeps (they both respawn quickly). You'll also train your hunting and bow skills, so that's pretty need. Start with shooting the cows as they're larger, and allow you to get closer, so it's easier to hit them. Once you've gotten better you can hunt the sheep. The meat you hunt can be sold if you boil it first. And most merchants in Skallitz will buy meat from you.
You can no longer carry infinite weight and still mount a horse. You can only be over encumbant to 150% of your carrying capacity and still get on a horse. So don't overpack when you give Theresa her nails. Stash the rest of your loot in the locked chest in your home. It will still be there once you return to Skallitz.
All Cumans you see during your escape from Skallitz can be killed, and there's a finite amount. You can get the Cummans on the horses by blocking the bridges with multiple horse (2 horses on the bridge+1 for you should suffice). You can also snipe the Cumans that stay on the other side of the stream. Once you hit them thel 'lapproach you and you can kill them without fear of being killed by a stray arrow.
Once in Talmberg go directly to the inn and pay for a room for multiple nights. THis will make the inn one of your homes, and you'll be able to stash loot there that you can access from all f your other homes e.g. Rattay Mill.

Do NOT sell the gear. Instead, level up lockpicking to level 6, take the "Luck of the Drunk"-perk, take all the gear from the chest, wait/sleep until Peshek goes to sleep, consume an alcoholic drink, break into Peshek's shed right outside the room your bed is in, lockpick the lock on the chest and dump all the gear into it. Doesn't matter if it's stolen or not. Wait/sleep a few days, break into Peshek's chest again at night and steal all that shiny Groschen, baby.
Why/how this works is because Peshek will actually sell all that stuff you put into his chest at a way higher price you would get for them, and it only takes a few in-game days for him to dump all the Groschen into his chest for you to steal. Way easier than selling all the gear AND you get a better price for the stuff compared to selling. Thank me later, have fun with the game everyone.

Hi,
It's sadly no longer possible to achieve what's in this video on the 1.6.2 update ! First of all, there is some issue with the wanted status which will corrupt any saved game, no matter what. In fact, the moment you get gaught doing something wrong, you can't load a previous save, because the wanted status will still occur.
Then, you can no longer fighting too long with the trainer in Skalice (about 20 strikes and he will leaves for drinking).
Furthermore, after killing the Kuman instead of running (which you can do, but take forever), just after saving Theresa, they now spawn and attack you, wether you're wearing or not Kuman equipment (making the loot of kumans impossible).
And the bandits are so much a pain in the ass at the "fortress" that it's nearly impossible to kill them all.
I wanted to try to achieve what's in this video for fun, but sadly Warhorse didnt agree with that...
He's right. And don't even try to kill that Kuman - They've buffed him to godlike status. I tried killing him at least 120 times, and had many times where i would've chopped every single limb off of a normal man. Sadly, we will all have to roleplay the dirty peasant warhorse wanted us to be....
@@Solidsnake856 nah, just tested on 1.7.2, yep, we re leaving this guy at start but it is still possible to kill all Kuman around with just horse and sword.
And villagers respawn their clothes/inventory after awhile : X. Kunesh is the exception though.
Plus it's now impossible to be heavily over encumbered and riding a horse. Made sense.. it says you're too encumbered to jump on the horse. Hahah
update 1.9+ they must have watched this video. it's still an amazing game, though!
After the last update you can no longer level up your sword skill during the training quest. Now it automatically ends after a short time regardless what you do. Without high sword skill your chances of defeating Cumans or armored bandits are virtually nil. Too bad they aren't as diligent patching bugs as they are patching harmless exploits.
tbh he is there to TRAIN you... so TRAINING with him in order to lvl up ... i dont fucking get it how its considered an exploit lmao.

The training arena in rattay is the way to do it. You can practice in multiple different weapons and unarmed combat. You can do both real weapons or practice weapons too. You can repeat this as many times as you wish. Sleep after each session if needed to refresh it. I did this and it made a very big difference.
Or Just get on a horse and stab them
With the amount of loot-moving in this guide, I can see why they called the game 'Deliverance'
When trying to rob the bailiff, you can make the lady across the courtyard leave by using the wash basin in the far corner twice, which will make her get up and go to the well to refill it

first step: acquire a decent pc to avoid crashing.
This Dude has already endstats in strength etc.
Here's how you get your best start (2022-05-06):
Get herbalism to lvl 10, then get the perk for the strength. Get herbalism as high as possible (16-17) without entering the tavern area yet (ensure that the cutscene doesn't happen). Kill all regular citizen without names and choke all named citizen to steal all their belongings, then plunder their houses. Ensure that you kill all animals (sheep and cows with weapon, chicken with fist), before you trigger any cutscenes or savegames. The animals will respawn after loading a savegame and after cutscenes. Therefore, whenever a cutscene ist trough, kill all the animals again. If there's an autosave or you save manually, load immediatly after, then kill all animals. Always take the meat. Ensure that you loot at least 2 guards with bows (reloading can change their type between halberd and bow type). Put on arm protection and use half your arrows (not more!) to train bow on the sheep to lvl 2. If you get hurt or start bleeding, your mom can heal you. Cooking stolen food removes the stolen tag and they can be sold. Don't eat any food, instead eat out of all cooking pots from the NPC houses. Buy all Saviour Schnapps. When you're done with everything, you should still have around 10 Saviour Schnapps and the merchants shouldn't have any gold nor Savior Schnapps left. Save before giving the nails to the girl.
For the first cuman, you wait in front of the bush on the wall in stealth mode, until he passes. Then you try to sneak-kill him from behind. If that fails, he drops his sword, then it's an easy fight against him. Just press 1 to draw your sword and he won't be able to fight you with his fists at all. Loot everything, put on his complete armour set, then run to your horse, but DON'T sit on the horse! Behind your horse is a cart. Stand at the end of the wood plank pile next to it and jump on the cart. Equip your bow, draw your bow, optionally, save here. Wait until all enemies are right next to the cart. Those with halbers/swords can't attack you. Prioritize those with bows, since they can harm you. If they are right next to the cart, it's very easy to shoot their face. You can also loot them for additional arrows. When all enemies are dead, shoot an arrow towards the 3 cumans who molest Thabeta. They will come to the cart too, deal with them like all the other guys. Kill the 2 horses, take their saddles and equip it to your horse, to increase its carrying limit. Loot however you please, ensure that you aren't encumbered and continue to the regular path. In the next scene when you have to run away from the Cumans with the horse, before you do anything else, open your inventory, take out everything (including the saddles) from the horses inventory and put it in your own, since you won't be able to access the inventory of the horse later anymore. You will be totally encumbered, but you can still run away with the horse without any issues.

Long video short:
- Be sure to loot everything before escaping Skalitz.
- Choke everybody in town (with some exceptions) be sure not to be seen and all that shit.
- Everytime you are asked to go one way, go the opposite. Kill everything. Loot everything.
- Carry everything with you at all time, except when fighting needed, in wich case look for a chest.
- Be sure to save your game before the grave digging scene.
- Once you are in rattay check your inventory (now in the chest). Some things might be missing, in wich case you'll have to reload to the grave digging scene.
- Get to Rattay, sell everything.
- Enjoy an overpowered economy, wich we all know leads to overpowered gear. Wich leads to being stupidly overpowered, specially trough the mainquest.
And don't forget, skip through all the dialogue.
Thought this was an immersive RPG lol.

Can you imagine when they found thousands of pounds worth of armor and clothes on some peasant boy but yet didn't get suspicious of you
fun fact, if you fight a bandit/cuman in the presence of the guards and they surrender, if you tell them to drop their goods and run away but you slay them afterwards, the guards will call you a murderer and arrest you.
They were probably too impressed with all the Cuman gear. They were like "if this lad can kill this many Cumans, I shudder to think what he'll do to me! Best not say anything and just pretend I saw nothing."
First encounter with that heavily armored Cuman was pretty hard, most of the proposed tactics does not work in 1.9.3 version, however, after 30+ attempts, I've managed to kill him without a single hit from him.
The technique is to attack him first with sword stabbing only. When you manage to hit first stab, he will lose balance for a split of a second, that's where you spam another one, and another, until he's down. Make sure to aim properly not to lose a single hit. Dont let him attack you, just keep stabbing him and after 10-15 hits he's gone.

well you have to understand if a shady dude shows up and things go missing and this repeats 100's of times eventually people will put 2 + 2 together and realize it is you. The game only really punishes major instances of theft this way. For example Rattay was only mad at me after i cleaned out the blacksmith, the armor smith, the general store, the alchemist, both taverns, everything from the barracks, and finally the clothing store.
All in all i took around 100-200k worth of items and it took me days to complete and multiple trips on a horse since now you cannot mount a horse after 1.5x overencumberment. At this point people were attacking me on sight but, i can believe it bc it is too suspicious that a new kid shows up poor and in 3 days becomes wealthy enough to buy full plate armor, the best sword, a mighty steed and more. All the while he somehow has a fuck ton of stuff to sell. (I 'washed' my items so i could sell them at the mill).
Reminds me of all the Skyrim exploits before they got patched.
I know one exploit that no one does, I even made a post on steam forums on it. I made a guide on getting sir Radzic's sword out of the dream sequence also.
Basically finding a wall that is in the prologue that is not covered with a invisible wall and jumping it with a horse, bypassing the death walls... SORTA. They are still there.
Also you can get a permanent horse named "Horse" that could be a bit glitchy (doesn't move to you but spawns if whistled).
It has better stats than Pebbles.
To do that, do the two sequence in reverse order with the wall jump exploit:
Trigger Talmberg before triggering the Skalitz chase sequence, but do the latter once the prologue is done, you avoid heading to the fast travel area on the map as the trigger is there, and encounter runt before doing the Cuman chase.
Once prologue is done via bypass you fast travel back and upon reaching it, will trigger the sequence immediately... You will be at 75% health, is bleeding, and chased by 3 Cuman riders.
Baker's Mare (named "Horse") starts with items in the saddle and a hefty amount of capacity.
Corpse Lure: Choke out and rob Alex and the Bailiff (and everyone else for that matter) with no chance of being caught, even when they wake up.
1. Kill every guard and the catch-pole so the Bailiff is the only authority left that will run to investigate a discovered corpse. The two guards at the castle entrance aren't necessary since they never move from their post.
2. Kill the woman Villager sitting on the bench across the courtyard from Alex and the Bailiff and drop her body inside the barn next to where she is sitting. You could choke her outside and kill her in the barn, but it seems choking and killing take the same amount of time, and killing outside saves you an extra step. Be an efficient psychopath!
3. Kill another Villager and drop their corpse where someone will discover it along their walking routine.
4. When the Bailiff runs to investigate the corpse, choke him out, loot him, and tell him that Pasty Smurf sends his regards. Move his unconscious body somewhere that no one will wake him up and find out that it was you who did it.
5. Return to the tavern and choke out Alex when Bianca is inside the tavern. Dump his unconscious body in the same barn across the courtyard where you put the corpse of the female Villager in step 2 so no one can wake him up and find out that it was you who did it.
I realize that I am well over a year late to comment on this video, but in the course of my bloodthirsty rampage of the town, I realized that dropping corpses around town is a very effective way to break NPCs out of their programmed routines so that I could easily dispatch them away from prying eyes. Especially the Shop Guard who always leans against the outside wall of the shop. Drop a body right next to him, wait for someone to walk by and discover it and scream, and then chase down the Shop Guard when he starts running in panic. Works for the Trader and the Shop Guard inside the shop as well if you sneak in through the side door, and drop a corpse right at the back door of the store front. Open the back door, wait for them to discover the corpse and run in panic, and then presto-deado, you have two more corpses to lure others to their respective dooms.
I spent 30 minutes trying your double-choke-out method on Alex and the Bailiff when they are both sitting at the table before I realized that whatever luck you had in pulling it off just wasn't going to happen for me, and I needed to find a different way. Fortunately for me, I was saving the Bailiff for last and discovered my method on accident.
Hey, for some of us, half the fun is testing the game's limits and responses to see what we can get away with! It may not be the way the game was intended to be played, but so what?

The guards near the entrance to the castle can be killed quite easily. If a peasant sees a corpse and there are no more guards alive, these two will answer the yell and run towards the crime scene. While they return to their posts, you can choke them one by one and stab their unconscious bodies.
This tutorial makes it look easy, so far I only managed to do the herb picking good enough
The game becomes easy after many hours of game play. You have to be bad to get good. After many hours of being stabbed and running away you’ll end up being a heavily armoured badass with more groschen than you know what to do with

You know that when you've fled the castle in Talmberg, go to the inn and rent a room for just one night (2 groschen) and store your stuff in the "shared box". You won't be able to use the bed so sleep/save but the chest works!

You can use the inn, buy a bed and use the chest next to the bed to access Henry's dimension box and dump everything in it before proceeding to Skalitz.
When you want to get the item from Skalitz back to rattay, you go to ruined skalitz, withdraw all your goods from Henry's chest at home (it's not a dimension chest), and dig the grave up.
Then it will trigger the boss fight and you will get instant KOed and warp to Rattay, with the dimensional chest next to you.
I wish I would have known that, but thanks for the tip! I will definitely try that approach on my next play through!
Although, I remember trying to sleep in a bed in a ruin in Rovna, and Henry was like, "Ain't nobody got time for that!" My guess is the game will let you access the chest at the Talmberg inn, but won't let you sleep there?

24:40 there is a horse they let you borrow that makes things a lot easier. Just go back into the castle where the horses are and one of them should say mount.
People you guys do know that your horse you took from the Cuman is in the Talmberg stable with the other horses right? Just look for the horse that doesn’t have the “steal” mark on it.

While in Skalitz when henry comes back to burry his parents you can also use the shovel to dig up the treasure that Kunesh later tells you about. And there you find Beran's cup and around 50 Groschen.

Also to the ending where you keep losing gear, just leave it in the chest and come back for it after prolog is done. Then zero risk of losing anything at all.

Im pretty sure most of this has been patched out as of 2020 if anyone else is watching this. Great guide no doubt. But most of the things dont work anymore. (tried for a few hours) the 2 main things are 1# bailiff and the other guy spawn facing eachother. Any attempt to get close to the tavern forced a cut scene and shuffles them to face eachother. rendering a choke impossible.
2# You can no longer ride a horse when over encumbered by 50% So you are MUCH more limited to the loot you can actually take with you
Another note. Most of the people playing this game will be new players (me being one of them) After 2 hours of attempted to kill that first cewman. I only managed to defeat him once. ONCE... even after that one time. attempting to do horse ride battles when you have no clue what you are doing. thats going to be another few hours of learning and dieing over and over again.
every other time he either killed me. or called his friends over along the road to make it a 1v9. So new players? guide isnt for you. just play the game and have fun....cause i didnt have fun trying this guide out one bit...
My advice? Follow what the guide says for the first 12 minutes. Put all your shit in the chest. leave it there. and come back later for it. You might get 1000 extra gold. thats still a damn good start. compared to the hours of torture youll have to go through to get maybe 10-50k
You can still pick all the herbs. And the reason you can't fight the Cumans as easily as this guy did is because the devs patched out any reasonable means of maxing out your sword skills in the prologue. It's apparently still possible to get a bow and max hunting, archery and the like but there's no way to improve sword unless you plan to try and 'hunt' wildlife with it and that's pretty brutal because all the cows and sheep run away from you.
Without max (or near max) sword skills you are basically a lame duck in combat. You could try to be a quickscoping archer but you would have zero chance of deflecting any attacks and, unless you nailed some headshots, you would quickly be overwhelmed by superior numbers.
On top of all this, the devs patched in that infinite carry weight is no longer a thing. Even considering maxed out strength and the like, you just don't get to carry as much stuff as this guy did. Technically you **can** but if you're too loaded down, you can't mount horses and good luck escaping the Cumans in the prologue on foot when you can't move faster than a hobble. And good luck killing them all with novice swordfighting ability.
Despite all this, it's still possible to have a semi-overpowered start if you're willing to grind in the prologue. Starting the game with 5000 Groschen might not be as impressive as starting with 150,000 but it still gives you a massive leg up on the early game. There are still a handful of skills (strength, herbalism, archery, vitality) that you can max out and the perks these can give you can still make a huge difference early on.
@@antonyduhamel1166 Just hop on the cart in front of your horse and kill everyone with the bow. As long as you kill the archers before they shoot you, it's no problem. I recommend training the bow to lvl 2 with the sheep in Skalitz first, but it's not necessary.

You can save and exit as much as you want... so if you have patience you can actually use infinite saves in the prologue
The horse before the cutscene represents the horse you take to get away, that is why it is unkillable.

Galloping on the horse while striking the Cumans doesn't work anymore. At least in this particular mission because no matter how fast I go, they always find a way to knock me off my horse so I can't kill them to stockpile their gears.
The Cuman sword master mini boss guy can't be killed either. They buffed him to the point that you can't get any hits to connect. The only hit I've managed to connect is when he first started running out that's when I do a quick jab.
Wish I had played this when the game released so I can do all the exploits.
BTW, the only exploit I found to work to level up strength, agility and vitality is to sneak up on the guard next to Kunesh house to get his sword, then head to the upper north east area where there are two cows. Start quick jabbing the cows and loot their meat. Walk all the way back to your house, but on the way back stealth loot (but don't kill so you can repeat) the worker on the right of the gate of all his items, then store his items in your chess and cook the beef to remove the stolen indicator then walk to the merchant shops to sell the meat. Sprint back to the same area where the cows spawn then do a 360 spin to refresh the area so that the cows can respawn. Rinse and repeat. Note: if you see a villager stealth knockout then kill and hide the body otherwise they will wake up and walk around again. You will be over encumbered so you will walk extremely slow. Spent literally 4-5 hours doing this to level my character to 7 in all categories except speech. However, when the Cumans attack you'll still get your ass handed to you so just run away as fast as you can.
There is the part in this game where it bugged out where I can't get the lockpicks from Fritz because I did the missions out of order. Basically don't put Teresa nails in your personal inventory and don't buy the coals first and have it in your inventory. Do only the part of the mission where you get a prompt to speak to Fritz to get the lockpick but don't do any other parts of the quests or it will bugged out and you won't get the lockpicks. I spent so many hours leveling up my character and screwed up the order of the mission afterwards so I missed out on the early lockpick skills I could have accumulated. In the end I didn't have the option to ask Fritz for the lockpicks and missed out on leveling lockpicks. I was pissed because I'm a completionist and wanted to do everything.

@@VersionBest you must fight Kunesh and lose this fight before you have any money to buy the coals and the beer and you must then directly go to Kunesh chest finding out you need lockpicks. Then the game hints to go to Fritz.
Nobody has shown the way I play the prologue. I stealth kill a guard that has a bow after leveling stealth on villagers. The stealth skill check for a kill is much lower than the check for a knockout. Then I either systematically kill all the guards with backstabs, or I try to fight them one on one, luring them to the one roof in town that is low enough to jump onto. If they follow me there, I'll kill them with a bow. The AI can't jump gaps, and you have to jump from a wood pile to get onto the roof. If they stop following, I go back to trying to stealth kill guards. It's true that you can't kill one or two of the guards, but if you knock them out and steal their weapon, they'll run from you in fear instead of trying to fight. Once all the guards are dead, do what you want.

Great video, I was battling getting this game started, boy it is tough. I've used these hints as I am building a stealth character, they were so useful. I am going to try another start now I have a better idea on how to play this complex game. Thanks
This is a great guide. I picked this up for free and gave it a try. After HOURS of grinding the game became that much easier when you dont have to worry about money or equipment. PRO TIP: You can cheese the bandits if you grab their attention and hop over some logs and a pinwheel near the entrance then shoot them with arrows, their AI wont flee, just shoot and loot.

I'm pretty sure it's based off actual nordic slang with an "Arrow to the knee" meaning a man getting married. So taking an arrow to the knee isn't meant in the literal sense but instead settling down and presumably starting a family.
At least regarding the Skyrim quote of arrow to the knee, the writer acknowledged that it was completely random and he had no idea it'd blow up like it did, or why.
So at least in that case, there definitely wasn't intended to be any underlying, deeper meaning.

it took me an hour and a half to get to level 15
farm the massive clumps of herbs. You get XP PER HERB so farm the massive bunches of Nettle, everything down the hill of the sparring ring, and the big hill.
herbs do an area of effect, so the surrounding herbs will be picked too, its xp per herb so go in the middle of heaps of them

Oh my god dude seeing and hearing that intro made me feel so much fucking nostalgia. I can’t believe it’s been two years I’ve gone not playing this game oh my god I miss it so much. I remember every time I’d get home from school watch your videos, wander around the map on a horse listening to the medieval tavern music. This is the next game I’m getting on my Xbox whenever I have the money.
another thing is, kunesh is immortal, so if you knock him out you can sit there indefinitely stabbing him or shooting him with a bow and build up your combat skills. just make sure you drag him into his own house and close the doors so if a guard happens by he won't notice you stabbing the unconscious kunesh. if you pick up an axe and mace you can build up those weapon skills too.
Nah they removed that, that's one of the things I had to edit out.

That’s both awesome & upsetting because I deleted that 18 Gigabyte patch just for Kunesh in case my *current* run through crashes the game on me again for the 5th time lol... (I’m still on version 1.2.5) Where do you get a bow, mace & axe anyways at the very start? I’m sure I could find them *looks at the guard for a bow & mace* but I’d still like to know for sure. I will use that Kunesh glitch because I go after plate armor anyways which weighs me down even without anything else in the inventory (asides the vital Blacksmith & Armour kits) I NEED that 12 strength.
Pole arm guy has a Mace or the Bailiff. Axe and Bow you can get from a guard these are all knocking them out and looting all. I also got my lock picking up to lvl 7 before I left. I used my Savory schnapps carefully after I got the Pole arm

Right? These guides should be called how to break the game, take all the fun out of progression and kill immersion. I just don’t see the point of it.
Personally, I enjoyed the shit out of grinding levels at the start of the game in relevant skills. The sense of (and I say this unironically, despite the context) pride and accomplishment I get from knowing that I made myself (or my Henry as the case may be) into a better man than most is very cathartic. And, assuming you don't try to max out EVERY last possible skill that you theoretically can, there's still a lot of progression to be had after you exit the prologue and settle into the early game.
And hey, if none of that sounds like your cup of tea, just do the prologue normally, don't grind a thing and enjoy your experience. No one is forcing you to play this way if you don't want to.

@@_Twink I know, right? The first few brawls I got into in Rattay were cakewalks because of my maxed strength skill. I (the player) barely knew how to fight properly but that doesn't matter when you're the second coming of Mike Tyson (or would that be the first since this is the 1400's?)
This are the kind of players i like. Taking time to enjoy a game and taking time to check everything and also to alternatives to do the game on another way than is foreseen. Thumbs up for this man!
hot tip: Somewhere around 21:40 there will be a guy running on the road with one of the best chest armor pieces in the game (The Gambesons with yellow and black color, that goes over the heavy armor.). If you jump over a tiny river over on the left, the cumans will turn around and try to go around it. Giving you lots of time to stabbing that dude, then quickly jump off the horse and loot it.
Something you can still do to raise stats is to trap and punch out sheep. Though it is a bit tedious and time consuming, it is possible to raise your basic stats to max by doing it. But now that Ive point that out, it will probably get nerfed.

Skip the Cuman fighting since it has been patched, but go to your menu and take the Noble saddle (best in the game) from the horse you ride into your inventory before the cutscene.

Not sure if it is because of patches or because I suck at all the things, but this guide has proven to be largely ineffective. The first Cuman soldier blocks and counters every attack and it seems your attacks are slowed so as to be far less effective. Subsequent fighting with Cumans results in being forcefully dismounted almost immediately. It's like the developers saw this video and changed it with patches. Even the bailiff is positioned opposite his friend now so he can't be choked out. I'm playing the PS4 version, so I don't know how that impacts things. Just wanted to let you know :)

Couldn't beat the guy after quest run starts. Once on the horse it was ridiculously hard to kill everyone, not even close to as easy as u make it seem. I've not tried 7 times and keep dying. The timing and controls of the horse and being able to hit a guy while running past his is very hard to do. I'll keep at it and hope it gets easier. Very frustrating at the moment.
Maybe you should try to flee instead of taking on an invading army. The scene with Hendo failing to chop a stick in half is supposed to be a hint.
Yeah it's obvious they made it just about impossible now, which I don't like. That's the exact opposite of what an rpg is all about. I tried a lot of times and had a really hard time getting any off them either. I only managed to kill one, but I don't think its worth it. Esp since I already got a crap ton of stuff from the town I can go back for anyways lol. At least his video helped me with that!

Good work man, your guide helped me out a lot. In 1.9.6 many things were patched but many steps still work suprisingly, I couldnt kill the Cumans, Rattay wants me in jail but other steps works fine.
The number of times you said “choke them out” just started making me giggle.
the tutorial is a bit outdated, but was still very helpful. Here's what I did as of May 2023 to make it work:
Spent a bit of time knocking out villagers/guards in your hometown and taking their stuff. I didnt check, but I'm pretty sure guard still respawn with new armor so it might still be possible to get infinite items at this point (you wont be able to do this with the Cumans later). Put everything you stole into the chest in our living room.
Honestly though, you don't need to spend a lot of time in this first step. There are other ways of making money later in the game. The only important thing is to take a guard's armor to fight the Cuman. Put it on before you forge the sword with your father.
During the "Run" mission, the dev has given the first Cuman chasing you a big buff. I find it impossible to fight him hand to hand. Instead, I sneak down hill to get a horse, then I ride up and down the road, agroing him and other patrolling Cumans, and killing them while on my horse. The trick is to run thee length of the road, turn around, and slash them as you past them, rinse and repeat. Don't slow and or get surrounded. **Save before doing this.**
Here's the biggest change to the game: You can only ride your horse with 50% overcarrying weight. This means you can't carry all of those nice Cuman armor with you. Once you pick up what you can, continue your mission by riding to Talmberg where you will continue the story with all the loot on you.
When it's time for you to escape Talberg, you DONT have to carry all that loot with you to bury your parents. There's an Inn right outside the castle. Rent the room there for 200 gold, then put everything in the storage box next to your bed. This chest is connected to all the other "home chests."
Now go bury your parents, but make sure to grab all the stuff you've hidden in your home before you bury them.

For getting a guard uniform, once you wake up and need to to go the battlement wall, if you go up the stairs to your right and follow along the wall, there is a sleeping guard in the tower you can knockout and steal his uniform and gear and then walk to the battlement wall to continue the quest where you have to wait on the wall until morning
To make the walk to skalits faster you could rent a room in talmburg and store your items there to pick up later from any of your chests

last i checked, it took 30 plants to get flower power activated. Did that change?
24:25 before you go talk to the guard to leave, go get your horse in the middle of the keeps yard, you wont have to crawl thru town with the carry weight, note you have to get the horse before you talk to him, or he gets mad lol
