I sold my 60 convertible almost 10yr ago to fund this compound i have. It was quite a sacrifice but i couldnt be doing what i do had i not done that. Now i want another six oh
Yeah theres some small bugs. Gnat looking things. Recent rains and over grown lots on both sides of me make it very hard to beat these bastards. I just didnt want any runs. The rest i can fix no problem.
Not hard to be on schedule when you are only working on one car!!! Try 5 to 10 at one time and everyone wants to see progress on their car only!!! Car looks good, nice and straight!!! Good job guys!!!
Wow! Just curious, if this was not a frame off “rotisserie” style paint job, how much would a paint job like this cost? Door jambs, in yer truck lid, and hood lid? 10k? 5k?
Nice. Wasn’t sure if you mentioned guns you’re using for base and clear? Also brand of base? Also why do you suspend a plast sheet above the car? What’s that do?
Ian Morado sheet helps keep down trash and residual debris floating around that could otherwise land on the car. Not saying i invented this but have been doing it for over a decade for us back yard builders that dont have spray booths. As you can see we implemented the method here at Lownstar Lows garage. For the effort it takes its worth doing it every time.
I kept forgetting to mention guns. For the shopline base coat we used iwata lph400 orange cap. For clear a separate lph400 silver cap. I recently got the orange cap gun about a month ago and i really like it. They will be my guns for a long time. The plastic sheet ceiling is used to capture any overspray from landing back on the car. It works very very well. Its a tip my friend taught me a couple years ago. Try it. You will see how much crap the sheeting captures. Its just a small step to do to improve the environment since. I have no booth
Got any tips about getting into the trunk? I dont have the keys to my 1964 impala 2 door sport, but i can get into the inside, i tried pulling off the back seats and trying to turn the lock from inside the trunk, idk if im doing this right or wrong
Its technically not a sealer. It is epoxy reduced. I like it 20%. If it sits more than about 24hr then you have to scuff and reapply. So ive read. I usually time it about 12 hours before basecoat. Google southern poly urethane epoxy as a sealer.
Came out sharp!!! Good work and what a way to spend the 4th. Wish i had that much space in my garage!!!

AJACK2K jam a flat head in the key hole about 1-2 inches. Or from the inside the back seat with a long screw driver
Man....id probably call a lock smith. Im pretty sure these types of locks are a piece of cake for someone with experience
I never heard of a sealer that you spray then leave for 24 hours on the ride. Without having scuff it up before shooting the base ?

@@lonestarlows Thanks homie. I'll check it out. Your ride is looking sharp. Cant wait to see it all done.
