Where was this video when I started my build 🤦🏻♂️ I’m the dummy that bought a car intake and a new truck water pump and learned the hard way . Great video 🤠🤘🏻
A 2010 camaro 6.2 water pump also works for the same set up. I used one on a 1999 5.3 truck engine. I used a dirty dingo relocation kit. Smaller bell on water pump, lines up perfectly to truck accessories drive.
Thank you! I had the same thought. Also wanted to give it somewhat of an "original" look. I'd paint the intake too but I think LS intakes don't look all that great painted. So this will do
The tbss is pretty much the best stock intake you can run with as long as you have the clearance. Great choice! That was my original choice before I found this one second hand
Uhm also need longer bolts to mount Camaro belt tensioner to your new Camaro water pump. The truck one is about 3/4” too short at least the ones on my 05 LQ9 were.
I don’t remember on mine specifically to be honest if I had to change the bolts. If I did then I probably found something around the garage or took a trip to the parts store. Luckily it’s an easy thing to take care of. Definitely something to note though! Thank you!
Hopefully soon! Still needing a few more parts before I can put it in the car for the last time. Really want to hear it run before the end of the year.
im at this cross road and can't decide on which belt or routing to go with? What did you find out. At the end of the video you show both ways to route the belt.
Either or is neither wrong or right. It’s whichever you decide you like best really. I’ll likely be going with the other option to have a shorter belt. But it would work just the same either way!
How many inches lower is the car intake? Does it have much of a change in the torque curve does it do? I'm putting a L92 into a jet boat and want the engine cover as small as possible . . .
I believe the car intake is right around 5 inches shorter. But I can’t confirm that for sure as I’ve only read that, never measured myself. You’d have to dig a bit into forums to double check on that, unfortunately. But I can tell you that if I had a truck intake I’m not so sure it would even clear. As far as torque curve goes, that’d be having to compare some kinda dyno sheet. But a usually the idea is the truck Intake will make the torque sooner and have less high end. Car intake will be the opposite. Could make the same torque but will be at a higher rpm.
As far as I know it’s a 2006 engine. That’s just going off what the junkyard told me when I had it delivered to my house. That and the engine was originally a drive by wire set up. But I don’t know of the power steering being any different throughout those years. Is the water pump aligning with the crank pulley when using the spacers?
Im lucky enough to have a few extra dollars to spend on these silly projects but I promise I’m no bill gates! Haha I go to work every morning like anyone else!
F body alt bracket, f body PS bracket, and an f body crank pulley.... looks WAY cleaner and doesnt have a huge chunk of aluminum on the front of the motor.
@@pawpatina that's fair, just depends on watcha want really. Personally like the alternator being on top for easy access. Replaced many more of those than I have steering pumps. Luckily GM made these things like Legos for adults so there's many options
@@mylifesucks327 yea im stuffing my ls6 into a miata on my channel so i know all about it... no kits, only thing i bought was monster miata's cv axles since they are plug and play with a ford 8.8 diff.
Soooo many videos on YT breeze over this. Thanks for breaking this down in such a useful manner! Much appreciated!
Glad you found it helpful!!

Sometimes the best way to learn is the hard way!
I made a couple trip to the parts store myself.

That’s really good to know!! Thanks for sharing!
Definitely some great information. One day I will ls swap my C10. Glad you made is so understandable.
Any questions you have I’ll be here, broski!
sick i've been wanting to LS swap my caprice so this def makes me wanna commit
It’s a journey that will be worth it!
Thanks for painting the engine a color that stands out, if you're going to take the time to build something awesome, make it stand out

I have an 06 Canyon Z85 RWD 5-Speed. I have a Gen 3 LM4 on a E40 PCM. I kept the truck Setup but went with a TBSS Intake because it's just better.
The tbss is pretty much the best stock intake you can run with as long as you have the clearance. Great choice! That was my original choice before I found this one second hand
Thank you so much you explained this so well and help me a lot thank you

That alternator/power steering bracket cleaned up nice. What did you use?
Nicely done.
Thank you!
great great info paisa!! following your build, whens the install in the bay happening?
Hopefully soon! Still needing a few more parts before I can put it in the car for the last time. Really want to hear it run before the end of the year.
Great video brother!✌️
Thank you!

more wrap on the pulleys is always better so im going to set mine up like you have it and try that. thanks for making the video. @@mylifesucks327

hello what oil pan and engine mounts are you using I have a 1966 impala I'm trying to LS swap
BRP Hot Rods swap kit and the oil pan is a amazon knock off of a holley 302-1 pan.
What year is the power steering pump? I’m having nothing but issues with my bracket set up cant get the pulley to line up with the crank pulley

Water pump lines up perfect with the crank pulley just not the power steering
@@jasoncroft4822 is the pulley further out than the crank or further in towards the engine?
How thick are the water pump spacers
I thiiiink they’re about 3/4 inch
What size belt is that
Is your alternator going to clear the hood?
I did have to do some trimming on the hood for it to clear but nothing too crazy
What bell size.?
Sorry I don’t know the size, only the part number in the description!
your not broke! haha

Car accessories will always be cleaner. But truck engine swapped projects are much more common, this is just an alternative.
@@mylifesucks327 Oh I know. but the parts are everywhere and in the end will cost about the same.

Wasted money on water pump and intake… just use carb you’ll get more hp
Wasted money is subjective. This is the direction I wanted to go with it so it’s worth it to me. More than one way to get it done!
Water pump spacer part number 05/2024 update: ICT Billet 551690-71
Awesome thank you!!
