    You should seal up the rust holes, because your volvo is so flat from the rear it creates a vacuum behind it which circulate the exhaust gasses back into the car...

      I did with some spray foam 😉

    • @luffy858
      @luffy858 Рік тому +2

      you might want to use some mastic (hvac duct stuff) as spray foam at thin thicknesses can still be vapour and air permeable.

      @@_Gingium_ My guy, you're a fabricator with access to a laser cutter. Cut some plates to fit in the holes, weld them in and throw some primer on. CO poisoning isn't something that goes away, it accumulates, you're risking your life for no reason.

      At those speeds and rate of acceleration I don't there's enough exposure time to matter! hahaaa... and the driver's window is open often to pass thru the speeding tickets so there's plenty of incoming fresh air.

    Dude this thing is soo sick!!!!! Are you gonna tub the rear for wider tires? Also shorten the ford 8.8? I'm doing the exact thing with my volvo 240 with a 6.0 t56 and shorten ford 8.8 but mine is NA not turbo. I haven't seen anyone tub this car nicely and keep the rear seats. Maybe you can be a first. I do know that the inner wheel tub and the fenders do have a gap that you can weld a flat sheet of metal to make a wide tire fit. You are such an inspiration to me. Thanks for the vids😆👍

    • @_Gingium_
      @_Gingium_  Рік тому +19

      Probably going to shorten the 8.8 a bit and get wider tires. Wont tub it though. I think I can fit a 26x11 slick in these wheel wells pretty easily!

    To get the exhaust smell out of the cabin, you need the exhaust exiting completely out from under the body and pointing away from the body. Dumping down to the floor under the rear bumper will result in an "upside down mushroom cloud" under the car, and the transmission tunnel isn't airtight. Been there done that lol. Hard to achieve on a sleeper though, because the exhaust exit must be outside of the body to work. Can you exit to the side near the rear wheels? A black tip there should hopefully be less visible.

    I'd still put the shift light down near the column. In the early 00s there was a dude Skidman who built Cressidas with 2JZ swap using a Chaser subframe. This was back when that was new knowledge from Japan and 1000hp was the professional limit of the motors, it was revolutionary. Anyway, he had stock wheels and straw grandpa hat and tissue box on the back parcel shelf, full grandpa spec. The only visible change was a tiny tacho and shift light down near his knee. Perfect 👌

    I had a dump under my 240 and the drone was unbearable, but it was in front of the axle. Exhaust didn't enter the car though, so its probably the holes. If you want to see something funny. Look at the rollover rear crumple zone for a 240 wagon, then decide if you want to sit in the third row. The car basically turns into the sedan. At least in some of the ones I've seen.

    For the idle exhaust issue, could you put some sort of spring flap on the big exhaust so when it’s not pushing a ton of gas out, it all would get passively pushed through the “factory” pipe and behind the car?
    Then when you give it the beans, the exhaust would build enough pressure to push the flap open, kind of like the stacks on some trucks and heavy equipment, but with mild spring pressure instead of a weight. Or maybe a weight could work if it was enginerd right…
