Inline skates - how to install and remove wheel bearings easily - tutorial

  • Two methods for installing inline skate wheel bearings and one method for removing them.
    Install:
    The first one uses the tool that normally comes with your inline skates called an allen key or hex key - if you don't have this tool you can buy one from a skate shop. The second method involves no tools and is super easy to do.
    Remove:
    Using the tool that normally comes with your skates - very easy to do, just involves a little practice to feel the edge of the bearing before removing it.
    Please note though I am not a qualified skate instructor. These are the methods I use on my bearings and have worked just fine for me without any issues. You do anything I show in this video at your own risk.

    quick tip : when installing a bearing you never want to push it in from the inner cage of the bearing, you risk blowing the bearing appart.
    the outer cage of the bearing is what you always wanna exert pression on. at least for inline skate , if it is a different model where the inner cage is whats holding the bearing on a shaft then you exert pression on the inner cage.

    • @LutinV
      @LutinV 2 роки тому +1

      @bhammack777 , hi sorry for the delais. to answer your question : you will use tool that push on the inner cage when its a bearing that goes onto a shaft since the inner cage is where the pressure while build up when pushing it in place. if you would push on the outer cage when installing the bearing on a shaft you could break the side shield that hold the grease inside and depending how much pressure your using it could explode with balls rolling everywhere ua-cam.com/video/J4gpLYo0vyw/v-deo.html

    So I went to change the wheels on my rollerblades but inside the hole that the screw slots in was a plastic piece preventing me from removing the bearing the way that you showed. I tried anyway by sticking an Alan key in there to pry it up but I completely ruined the plastic. Now the screw doesn’t fit in there properly.

    • @whittyskater
      @whittyskater  4 роки тому

      This is quite an odd request tbh....but you could swap the bearings for some older ones..... They will probably help you go slower. Don't over tighten the axles or remove the spacers! Personally though just keep practicing and you will get used to the extra speed. New, faster bearing will make it much easier to skate
