In this video, we take a deep dive into the musical themes of the Batman movies. We explore how while the orchestration and tone of the movies vary, the notes themselves are actually very similar, even when compared to the 1966 Adam West theme...

00:36 - Batman (1966)
01:23 - The Batman (2022)

Do this more!!!! I love film and I love learning guitar. Learning about how all of this connects to other stuff I hear in the world is very fun. You did a great job with this please do more!
I must concur!🤘🏻🔥🎸🦇🃏
Can't agree more!
Interesting that the Batman theme space is so similar. Says a lot about creativity that variations on themes are more the norm than 'inspiration' for new themes. It's like all the themes converge to encapsulate Batman. The First Batman on screen dates back to 1943!
I duno, I thought that The Batman also had a strong Cowboy vibe going on with it. Dark Cowboy to be sure, but that's where my mind went first.
Actually, the Batman-centric music in the Snyder films (the Batfleck themes, if you will) were written by Junkie XL, not Hans Zimmer. Zimmer had already written the music for the previous Batman and felt a fresh take was warranted, so he stuck with just Superman, letting Junkie XL take care of Batman. This is similar to how it was split up with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, where Zimmer handled the Batman music and James Newton Howard handled the Bruce Wayne music.
Junkie XL wrote the soundtrack for the original Forza Motorsport.
I like to think he chose this guitar for the bat ears
I also loved the orchestrated theme tune to Batman The Animated Series by Shirley Walker and Danny Elfman... interesting video, thanks!!
I wanted to include the Animated series theme because of Mask Of The Phantasm, one of the best Batman movies in my opinion! But figured it was a deep cut, and I went quite light on this. Could have done an hour video easily!
@@andycrowley glad you like mask of phantasm Andy because did you know apparently the batman (2022) was inspired by it! Also thanks for the video I play 🎸 as well and know I know these.
Batfleck has 2 unique identifying themes. And Beautiful Lie is simply the best theme for Batman in my opinion.
Great video! Really enjoyed this one, thanks Andy!
Great video Andy.
finally its here! saw the community post a couple days back and have waited since!!
FANTASTIC ANALISIS YOU'VE DONE !!
AS A MUSIC TEACHER AND BATMAN FAN SINCE CHILDHOOD I LOVED IT.
NICE WORK OF RESEARCH.
GREETINGS FROM BRASIL
This was fascinating
So good. Please do a lesson on the '89 and Returns themes!!
I want to, just need more embellished arrangements which takes time ✌️
Oh wow! I just realized that the motives you covered had descending intervals but Hans Zimmer had an ascending interval for his motive. Also Danny Elfman's theme was very recognizable to me even though I never owned or listened to the soundtrack. (Or remember the movie for that matter). Was it used in the animated cartoon? That, I think I spent many Saturday mornings on 😅
They took it to use in Batman TAS
Really interesting video
Can you make a tutorial on the 1966 theme pls I'm a beginner!! Please!!
The Batman TV theme was writren by Tony Iommi! Whoda thunk it?
You made this video because you and everyone of us love nirvana.
🙌
@andyguitar Never disappoint us!
I appreciate that!!!
Favourite batman film is a too hard to call but it is between 1989 Batman and The Dark Knight. Both very different but great in their own ways. (I Haven't seen the newest one yet) Favourite soundtrack is the same two films, though The Dark Knight just wins that one for me.
Awesome
At 2:08 …to me it would easier to call these notes A# & F#, just cause A# is actually part of F# chord (thinking emoji)
Please can you do a guitar tutorial on how to play "Stuck on the puzzle" by Alex Turner. It is a very underrated song and there are few tutorials out there. I've always been a huge fan of your vids and as a Yorkshire lad, your my go to man for guitar lessons. Tysm and keep up the gr8 work!! ;)
You are amazing
🙏
Can you do a lesson on some of the themes?
Will you make video tutorial for
See You Again Song please
Wow! ❤
Were you playing something in the way by Nirvana at the beginning
Yep 👍
