    One of the few grow light companies that utilize IR for the Emerson Effect. I wish more companies cared about the rate of photosynthesis instead of just trying to make their fixture as cheap as possible. Can't wait to try V2!

      @delosombres Don't tell us that. Tell that to Bruce Bugbee who is a lighting scientist that confirms it. If you do go that route, I recommend having your research paper available to prove otherwise. If you haven't done the research and it's just a theory you have, then do the scientific method to prove your theory. If the research has already been done then please post a link to the source. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be a dick, but anyone can leave a comment saying anything on UA-cam and sources to backup claims is a must these days.

    Nothing like buying the V1 6 months ago and now this comes out lol.
    Been growing since 95 and honestly I was unimpressed with the V1 overall.
    For veg it did decent but for flowering the plants yielded low for the strain and I got nearly 3x the amount under a 430w Son Agro HPS for the same strain.
    They are HIGHLY overpriced, that I can attest to.
    I think LED's have come a long way but they still are not pulling the same quality as HIDs IMO.

      how many weeks did you let your plants veg for? How much of a stretch did you get after flipping? i plan on just cloning and going straight to flower after my clones are about 4" tall since i have a es 300 v2 for a 2x4ft bcnl producer box lol. i am going to see if it works out if not i will end up just buying a 5x5 tent to use 2 es 300 in it if height is an issue because these bcnl producer boxes are small in height like 33"/36" tall minus the es 300 height 2.4 inches.

    I think it's a great light I'm running it in a Mars Hydro 2 x 4 the 300 V2 with two plants blueberry Purple Kush and they're exploding I can turn it all the way up and keep the light at 24 inch in bloom with no burn at all. With all the updates out they now I think I would spend a couple hundred more and get four by four coverage but this light is definitely made for a 2 x 4 so far I've only grown Autoflower with this light but produced very large yields I had some thoughts about purchasing the 180 Electric Sky and placing it in the two by four with the V2 extending my yield by 50% or my 3x3 Mars More room 4 plant's

  • @getlost3094
    @getlost3094 5 років тому

    Just wanted to update here but this light is kick ass. I’m growing super hot chilis in a 2x4 and this light is probably overkill but the dimmer has me at only 135 watts from the wall and at 24” I’m getting right at 400ppfd: at the same distance with my 315w cmh I get right around the same 395ish.
    It’s damn impressive to get that kind of light output from only 135 watts!
    Chilis don’t need as much light as photoperiod sensitive lights most people use it for.
    There is a reason for why cannabis needs high light. It needs because it is a photo period plant. To get it to flower, you run 12 hours of light. This requires a Daily Light Integral if higher ppfd to yield higher rate of photosynthesis.
    In contrast, peppers are not photo period plants so even when fruiting I leave one at 16 hours lights on. This means lower intensity is ok because the duration is longer.
    Same concept for vegging cannabis. Lower intensity is needed because they are on a 18 hour light cycle...or 24.
    So if anyone is growing non photoperiod plants, you don’t necessarily need the power that the MJ folks are using to flower. The es180 would have been plenty powerful probably, but the uniformity and efficiency at lower voltage is probably going to be more
    Efficient and lengthen the life of the diodes so I’m glad I got the 300

    Which electric sky do u recommend for a 2x4 tent, the 180 or 300?

  • @getlost3094
    @getlost3094 5 років тому

    Got mine. Trying to dial in my 2x4 tent. Mine is pretty warm. Not sure the unit heat sink temp but my tent today running for a day is a consistent 8-10 degrees above ambient room temps.
    There’s no way the temps of this unit are 108f only. That’s mild fever. After an hour of on time mine is too hot to leave your hand on the heat sink for more than 5 seconds full power. The top of the unit runs much much hotter than. 108. I have a thermal gun on order and will update mine. Unless my unit is running abnormally hot?
    I installed the dimmer which is pretty awesome! I’m surprised nobody talks about it much.
    Edit: IR gun came today. Guess I was wrong! The driver area in middle of heat sink on mine is 125f. The fins on the sink just behind the LED’s at 130f.
    Of course this all
    Depends on ambient temps. 77f room temp...87f tent temp. My ambient room temp is already pretty warm.

      If you search up a specific interview, Dan states that the diodes are custom built, not "top-Bin" but CUSTOM BUILT for the Electric Sky. Two of the 180's and a 315 watt 4,200K cmh at 24" grew some of the best herb I've smoked in years. If you are just trying to smash light into the leaves for photosynthesis, you're missing half the tools for growing. This light can be upgraded or sent back for the upgrade to V2, you can get your upgrades free for 3 years, so take the lifespan of this light, and add 3 extra years to it.

    Just bought two of these. Very surprised to see "Made in China" clearly stated on the box. Can't find anything on the internet about where these are actually made, so I guess they're made in China. They're great lights and seem to be top quality - made in China doesn't necessarily mean crap quality, Apple products are made in China - but when you devote weeks of research trying to find a quality product amongst the "cheap Chinese crap" saturating Amazon and which makes up most "reviewers"' top 10 lists, it's a bit ironic, if not mildly concerning, when your £1100 lights turn up in boxes stating made in China. I kind of thought the premium I was paying was for US workmanship, like when I buy a US made guitar, rather than a Chinese or Mexican made one. I guess not anymore - maybe the quality of US workmanship etc isn't as significantly better than elsewhere anymore?
