One important thing a lot of people forget to mention is that the su34 DOES get thermals. If you equip the KH-38MT and switch to the TV screen you can use thermals on it due to the integrated thermals on the missile itself.

From a quick image search, it seems that this particular livery varies quite a bit. I see some aircraft in this medium grey and others in matte black. That said, more than a few of the grey ones look rather weathered, so it may just be that the paint is faded.

Thank you for making this video, mate! The Su-34 is my favorite contemporary airplane-I absolutely love it. I've been waiting a long time to see it featured in a simulator game. Although I still have a long, long grind ahead to unlock it in War Thunder, it’s great to finally have something exciting to strive for. Regarding the rear-facing radar, there was a lot of discussion about it on the internet in the 2000s, back when the aircraft was still not operational. However, as far as I recall, most of it was just baseless speculation from Russian fanboys who wanted the Su-34 to be something it wasn’t. There were never any real intentions of integrating such a feature into the aircraft.
I've seen some pictures of the radar set fitted in the tail, with the cover off, and a few US DOD publications reference it, but all mentions of it seem to have vanished after about 2002 so as I mentioned, my gut tells me they tried it out on a few of the early ones but didn't include it as standard.

I like how people were more worried about the Grom-1 and not the fact it carries 6 Kh-38s. Grom-1 is a simple fix: reduce the rewards from bases so there is no incentive to bring them in air rb.
The rear facing radar was put into all su34 to act as a hmd replacement...su34 never had hmd and it was really bad for pilots..rear facing radar drastically hepled the craft locking targets behind up or below the craft amd then by switching missiles to IR tracking it could slap radar and IR missiles at those targets as well...gaijin said they are aware it should have it but they said it would be too op...shitty excuse they say ti everything russian...so yeah it IS MISSING the 2nd radar
I'll let you argue it out with all the folks who say it absolutely NEVER had the second radar, and I'm wrong to mention that even a few early prototypes had it.
@TimsVariety well by simple googling I found that some had it other say it was tested but no sources can 100% claim it uses it...nevertheless we have yak141 which is obviously a prototype with no guns uses irl so realism is really out of the question for some years now...tho I agree it may never used it, I only was typing that because of the sources that claimed it did
figured russia has one of the best CAS options combined with the best SPAA. other nations dont stand a chance besides maybe USA with its f15e being able to spam those small bombs to confuse the pantsir. aside from that, other nations suffer

One thing is triggering me in this game. Why are all liveries so pale? This Su-34 should be almost black not grey.
Exactly, the baltic camo is so lacklustre, I was hoping to see the red soviet roundels contrast on the straight black of the fuselage.

It got integrated on Su-57 IIRC, so maybe the works were done but it was deemed unnecessary, but the RnD progress transfered onto the newer platform

The dome for the tail radar exists, however a radar is only there on the «M» variant, which gets a shit tone of upgrades
