Good luck. 🤔🤠👍⭐🇺🇲

@JMRRebuilders well obviously that motor was definitely a piece of work but under normal conditions my dad taught me to put one part diesel and a little part of marvel mystery oil together and fill each cylinder with the mixture and put the plugs back in and wait 24hrs. Then turn the flywheel because he said that using the bolt on the harmonic balance was wasting his time and mine. 🤔🤣😂🤣😂😝😜🤪🤠👍⭐🇺🇲
hammer the pistons, put break cleaner into the pistons or diesel and put a breaker bar with a 50 pound weight on the end and let it sit for a week and it will eventually unlock itself
I shudder to think what it will be like for guys in 30 years who try to do “will it start” videos of modern trucks that have been sitting or abandoned for years. Basically all new pickups are push button start, electronic parking brakes, electronic shifters, etc. You won’t be able to read the mileage, you won’t have the original key fob, you won’t be able to release the parking brake, or get it in neutral to pull, and no doubt numerous other features that will have failed. Go to the junkyard and find a good short block and throw those good heads and a new intake on it. Those are great little engines and they’ll last forever if you change the oil and coolant on time. Even the auto trans in that truck will last a lifetime. I’ve got 340,000 miles on my 03 only issue I have is an oil leak that’s it.

I have an '03, the milage issue is probably a bad solder joint on the ground for the little display. Its a common issue. the ground pins solder just needs to be reflowed or replaced
I would find a good running motor, I know these had issues, so before you put it in I would put a high volume oil pump in to prevent the common issues with the cam phasers
Why didn't you try turning the motor over by hand first? I just bought a '98 and it's doing the same clicking thing, but we also can't turn the motor over by hand.
After watching your video on 2024 and what’s up for 2025. You mentioned of getting rid of this truck. How about putting in an older Ford V8 or an in-line Ford V6 with a carburetor. God Bless Y’all… LETS GO!
4.2 ford pretty notorious for blowing head gasket by #1 cylinder and gets coolant in the cylinder and hydronicing the piston bending a rod giving you a ticking sound.
Wrong that would be intake gaskets. I’ve never heard or seen one that had a head gasket issue. They are notorious for intake gaskets leaking. Other than that one of the best v6 engines ever built far better than the 3.0l Vulcan garbage
Yeah def good points. At this point if we do anything we will be ripping the motor out and possibly putting a coyote back in its hole. Thanks for the comment and support.

Are you guys really trying to convince us that you put a new starter in the truck before you tried to get the engine to turnover with a breaker bar? If so, "HERE'S YOUR SIGN WITH YOUR CARD" !!!
It's just a 4.2L so may I recommend building a stroker by using the goodies from a Mustang 3.8L and this 4.2L? Then spice it up with some boost and a 3rd pedal?

A new engine is ALOT cheaper than a new truck. It also doesn't have all the computerized planned obsolescence modern trucks have. If it were me I would replace the engine and drive it on.
I've got a 05 ranger I just picked up that seems to be abit of a pain. It's a xlt 3.0 with the 5 speed manual. Didn't run when I towed it home. Here's where I'm at now: At the recommendation of an old mechanic friend, I mixed up some "secret sauce" PB blaster + marvel mystery oil + transmission fluid. Dumped it down the dead cylinder where I'm letting it sit for about 4 days to soak and hopefully unstick the Rings. Fixing the compression issue in theory. If that does, I'll move on to diagnosing the exact cause of the fueling issue for that cylinder. Hoping it's just a bad injector rather than something electronic. If the secret sauce doesn't unstick the Rings, I have to decide if I want to take the head off of that bank, drop the oil pan and try to remove the piston to replace the rings on just that one. After the compression and fueling issues are fix, there's still the cat situation. Best case there is its just one of the 3 cats that's toast and I only need to replace the one. Replace engine with a used engine. The truck is worth it. You could rebuild the 4.2 V6 that it has, but why bother, when it may not be rebuildable due to a cracked block. Whoever abandoned that truck did so when it was only 8 years old, meaning it may have thrown a rod or they knew it had a cracked block. When you pull that engine out, go ahead and pull with the transmission still on it, because the idiot that drove it some 17 years ago probably destroyed that as well

I got a 01 308827 love it
That's so cool brother. Thanks for comment and support
Crate engine is still cheaper than a new truck.
Yeah maybe but she's been sitting for 13 years so needs alot and not sure that's worth doing
He needs a big fat Blunt after all that work.....
I ain't never had that or ever intend too. Thanks for comment and support. Check out our other content
LS swap it if you want a project/content. Or you could part it out and move on
Yeah we got a plan to ls swap a ford but not sure this one is worth doing anything to it. Thanks for comment and support. Check out our other content.
I did that same
Let's go brother. Thanks for comment and support. Check out our other content
Sounds like the motor
You may be onto something there brother. Thanks for comment and support. Check out our other content
With the step side , id say Lightning clone , with two Cs lol
I'll tell you what help me decide what to do with mine. I have the exact same truck except it's red. I'm thinking about going white and building a wooden stake bed for it. Some white steelies and a red and blue pinstripe along the side going up the back of the cab. Or do I keep the step side lower it put it on some some black Harley-Davidson F-150 Wheels Rust-Oleum Ford blue tractor paint ? What do you think ?
Let's go. That's awesome. Would be neat for sure. With a coyote. Thanks for comment and support
Man I would do the Harley look for sure lower and even put Harley seats in it. But that's just me. Good luck
@@JMRRebuilders thanks , looks like I found me a Ford channel lol
Heck yeah brother. We do trucks really that's out thing but we do Fords cause well everyone down here owns Fords.
Buy a used engine for it ..get it running, sell it and buy a new project... or use the truck attach and trailer to it and use it to haul your new projects...
yeah we might do something with it. Honestly just want to get rid of it. Thanks for comment and support. Check out our other content.
Was it a 4.6? If so I have a lot of insight

When you pull that engine out, go ahead and pull with the transmission still on it, because the idiot that drove it some 17 years ago probably destroyed that as well
That's not exactly a fair representation of the person who parked it. Thanks for comment and support
@@JMRRebuilders I can understand that your being on the same mental level as them is why you take it personal

Ya the def had issues but not sure a dodge trucks gonna be much better. Thanks for comment and support. Check out our other content
@JMRRebuilders 318-360 is a much better engine than Ford 302-351 flimsy bottom end on the 302 and 351
Spoken like a true dodge fanatic
