Those are great little boats. I've had two of them at different times. Never had an issue with either. Like the poster said, they are a little tippy but neither of mine ever tipped over. Great little fishing platform.
Interesting take on these plastic boats that nobody really talks about. That could be a deal breaker for some.Thank you for the good, honest review brother.
Nice review my friend. A good boat to tryout and use it for fishing or just leisure stuff. The 5 hp did a good job on the water. Liked and subbed. Stay safe and connected bro.
They are a great little boat. I picked up boat lightly used, and trailer for $300. Then bought a new mercury 8hp four stroke for 1,700 about a year ago.
@seagraves2296 I meant 6hp four stroke it does pretty good but doesn't seem th get to full rpm with two people. Thinking of trying a smaller pitch prop
I just flip it over and drain the water! It’s kept indoors and I don’t have a trailer so I have to take the engine off and everything to haul it in the bed of my truck. Personally I think it is not a bad idea to have the drain in the back because if one compartment takes on water, not all of them do
I’m sure it would handle in the harbors etc, but even in a lake, the bow doesn’t handle waves well and because it’s only a 5 hp, I’m sure would be easy to stuff it.
By saltwater do you mean the ocean? If so no. We have had ours on the hallifax lake eustis lake harris, and lake George, but on nice days. Once you get whitcaps it is not a fun boat to be out in
@@alanswanson5642 thats funny I've attempted taking mine on lake harris before and it was nuts lol with a trolling motor. I was on the wind blown side where it goes over to little lake harris. I usally have to stick to little lake harris but anything bigger than that lake and its rough for me
@@seagraves2296 High value comment. With one word you did the mental math for him, and prevented him from having to use the googles. Thumbs up from me.
Rated at 6hp... A tohatsu 6 HP..at 57# would be just about perfect. But ? Then again... I own a Alweld 14 36... flat bottom.. Be about the same i think ? I need that tohatsu 6 HP motor...lol
Definitely good enough to “get the job done!” Would I like a bigger boat? Of course. But to be able to throw this in my short bed with no trailer, can’t beat it

Omg what is it like with an 5 horse?? Fun I’m sure

@@alanswanson5642 whats your top speed?
Just bought this today. The 12 ft quest sportsman. Same exact boat.
How has it been doing for you? I just got that exact same boat today.
Wow....got me reconsidering a kayak purchase. Thanks
Nothing wrong with a kayak, I still use mine! Just different experience.
Love that boat, I have a couple pond pontoon style jonboat but been wanting one those. Great video man
Awesome video! Did you add the transom reinforcement? Looks like you are in Maryland area? Thx!!
Thank you! Not yet, but I did buy the metal to do it on both back and front mounts
With you on the small boats but I like the old aluminum ones more
What about drainage in heaay rains? inside drain is only stern section. Be interested in your opiiinion.

That is the one pain with this boat and others like it. You have to flip it to drain. Only the ver back compartment drains with a plug
How does this fit in an f150 bed?
Just fine! Put it in stern first and use the bow loop to ratchet strap it down.
Is the boat motor the short shaft or the long one?
Short
Awesome review dude! Sincerely!
Thanks man!!
Do you think I could take this boat out in the saltwater in Florida?
I’m sure it would handle in the harbors etc, but even in a lake, the bow doesn’t handle waves well and because it’s only a 5 hp, I’m sure would be easy to stuff it.

The boat is around 700.00 so what is the cost of your motor?
$1,700

I don’t think sun dolphin puts wood under there seats anymore. Can’t mount seats now.
5 hp is good I can work with this setup

ty nice
I bought one of these and oh my god it’s so unstable it takes no effort to flip at all
Operating a boat as an infant???? Wow!!!
