I remember looking thru a fashion mag seeing this wild dress that caught my eye. I am a guy who knows nothing about fashion. There were about 50 other photos of other dresses but this sole one caught my eye. A year later I was leafing through the mag and saw her name . Stella McCartney. Crazy. Good stuff.
Stories of the people whose name is overshadowed by the Beatles brand. “Parting Ways” from the Beatles brand and making their own name in their chosen field.
Stella could've lived frivolously and become the British equivalent of Paris Hilton. Suspect her mother would've been more impressed had she concentrated on something more worthwhile than dressing the wealthy but maybe she will use her profits to promote and encourage something that was close to Linda's heart, animal welfare.
True, but she's an absolute tyrant and incredibly horrible to her 'underlings'. My friend M (who worked closely with/for her in NYC until she couldn't deal with the abuse anymore) can attest to this. Too bad she didn't learn valuable lessons from her own alleged bullying, because that's precisely what she does to those whom she considers 'beneath' her -which is most of her staff. It's really disheartening, especially considering what I truly believe her parents, particularly Linda, would have wanted.
Almost any succesful person be it in art, science or elswhere has someone going around telling stories like these. The fact is that to enjoy a major success in life, you have to push yourself hard and sometimes you also have to push people around you. Some people appreciate being pushed by someone with a vision, because it is an opportunity to grow. Other people don't, they just want to live their comfy lives and a regular payroll.
vecernicek2 True, but not uniformly. I know people who've worked around and/or directly under the leadership of other 'big names' (Stephen Colbert is the first that springs to mind) and report incredible fairness and kindness on the part of their hugely successful and prominent 'bosses'.
zelie-catherine r Yes, there for sure are people who are both kind and successful. But still, if their success is a made possible by a collective effort, you also have to be demanding on your collaborators, and inevitably, some people will hate you for that. Take her father, Paul McCartney for example. As far as I know, he's a very kind and generous person. But he can also be uber-critical and super demanding on his collaborators when it comes to his artistic efforts. He completely frustrated Harrison, for example. And also, the first couple of years since the Beatles breakup up until about 73, he was constantly criticized how bad he is as a person, but he's not really. My point is, when you get in the situation when you lead other people and you're trying to be succesful and competitive with your efforts, you will almost inevitably piss other people. Bless Stephen Colbert if he managed to get where he is without doing so, but that would be super hard to do. And being succesful is hard enough by itself. For this reason, I always take these stories with reservation.
I was in a bar in west London, it was close to closing time, Stella was stood next to me and I asked her if it was last orders - she replied 'I'm not getting involved' - which I thought was a little strange as we were both trying to get served
No doubt about it she only got the opportunities because of her connections, but even so you still need to be talented for those opportunities to keep coming and to stay at the top, if you are not talented you are soon found out and the investors dry up.
I don't know if she does have talent; would she have become successful soley based on her talent or not. But there is no denying that lots of doors did open for her due to her father.
Let's be real. Txhe last name alone helped open many doors. And I guess why not? It's so hard to make it these days especially in that field. She is very talented, but most likely had a better opportunity to be a success than most. As they say money makes money. She's worth quite a bit herself these days.
+milestoneman The saying is, 'Money Talks', and in this case the prestige of her name may have bought her a career but I do believe she has proven herself. She has Sir Paul's talent, albeit in a different field. The talent is in her.
I just like Stella continuing the no meat no leather and fur. Linda was a down to earth mom. Her kids honor her with their careers and the way the live their lives.
It's a really deceptive title but I love the Beatles and their children, so it's ok by me. Having said that, the rest is addressed to Judith Shipstad. Your comment is ignorant. Most people seem to think that a home can be found for every litter of puppies or kittens that are born. It's not true. I volunteered at a dog pound for several years before we raised funds to build an animal shelter. During that time, we advertised, made phone calls endlessly to try to find homes for these angels. There are simply not enough people, even after we took them home and placed them in foster homes in order to give them a chance at life. Added to the litters, there are so many juveniles and adults that are simply dumped because they are not wanted. Most of these "pets" are dumped on country roads because people think "there's always a good place in the country where people will want them." When people say that to me, it makes me laugh and feel furious at the same time. So Judith, after putting up our own money, our time, and especially our hearts for these animals, what do you think we should do? So many animals die of disease, starvation, predators, and getting hit on roadsides when they are dumped. Is that better than putting them to sleep while loving them and holding them in our arms for them to pass on by a humane shot? If you had ever exhausted all options to find a home for all these creatures and then had to put a perfectly healthy dog or cat to sleep simply because you have no choice (other than to dump them again), what would you do???
''whether her climb to the top has been greased by her father's fame'' that's a typically smarmy media way of phrasing it. Off course his fame and power has an effect. But people wouldn't buy her clothes or keep buying them if they didn't like them.
+charles green You're wrong. You;re thinking of Heather. Heather is Paul's step daughter and Linda had her prior to marrying Mr. McCartney. Stella is Paul's by Linda.
Completely agreed. I know someone who's worked closely with Stella and she's just horrible to her staff in New York, which speaks volumes. Mary is far more like Linda.
she looks so much like the blond haired billy shears! Even his son looks exactly like Billy Shears. ** Yep! anyone can search for information on Billy Shears prior to 1966, anything after that, he doesn't exist. The British Intelligence did such a great job in the many plastic surgerys to make him look like the real JPM, Also you can search and you will not find any information on Billy Shears after 1966. He literally disappeared off the face of the planet. I can only assume why! Oh! Sure pictures will come up of him but only before 1965-1966.
One project at a time...and that should be stopping the further spread of Palm Oil agriculture. Save the Orangutans by stopping deforestation in those affected countries. If you find a baby O, send him/her to me! They are too cute. I'll send it to Texas A&M for a real degree!
I like the vegan/vegetarian aspect to her company and some items. But she's the most stuck up snooty 🐄 ever. At Madonna's wedding, she talked over Kelly Brook's head to Jason Stratham, the entire sit down dinner. Kelly wasn't good enough for her attention.
If this woman wasn't bank rolled by her old man she would be stacking shelves at Walmart.. Take away the Beatle thing and all his off springs got nothing but Zero talent.
The best thing I love about Stella's designs is that everything she creates is kind to animals.
Natashahoneypot Pathetic!
Love Stella...so down to earth, and her Dads biggest fan...
She’s definitely very talented, and has made a name for herself outside of who her parents are.
she is just jane asher
É VERDADE!!
Learned soooo much about the Beatles. Thanks for the upload.
Bellissima e brava talentuosa come il papà
SO impressed ! I wanted to say more but right now I'm going to reflect on Linda and her daughter's success.
Bless her! I think she’s amazing in her own right. And I’m so grateful she doesn’t use her and followed in her mother’s footsteps
Paul McCartney’s greatest achievement apart from the Beatles is his family.
Go Stella, way to go, you have made your parents proud 👍
Good for Stella God bless her

She's a big talent.
Yes:She worked with Jean-Paul Gaultierr early in the career! How a person who worked with the aforementioned may not have talent ??
Its easy to had talent when you are a milionaire. Easy life.
A person with the same talent but borned in a poor family is not sure she became for sure. Famous
Great for Stella!! She really stands up for her Talent/////// another great McCartney
2:05 Paul and Ringo
What does any of this have to do with Beatles "Parting Ways"?
Stories of the people whose name is overshadowed by the Beatles brand. “Parting Ways” from the Beatles brand and making their own name in their chosen field.
so sweet🙏🏻💓
Linda would be so proud 😊
Muy talentosa ella.
God has been partial when distributing talent to this (for sure) beloved family! 😉
that is awesome that she love's animals, they need help and love too..

Dressing the wealthy? Her designs are sold by Adidas, what are you talking about?
I don't get the title!! Has nothing to do with the Beatles!
Stella is the daughter of a Beatles so maybe they mean she is essentially of a Beatle but parting away from a Beatle.
Ditto ! I was expecting Stella to say something like, 'even a swimsuit can become a bikini!'
Kate Connely. Absolutely. Tenuous link at best.
I was in a bar in west London, it was close to closing time, Stella was stood next to me and I asked her if it was last orders - she replied 'I'm not getting involved' - which I thought was a little strange as we were both trying to get served

Belle!
Stella, vous êtes ma préférée, pour donner à voir la meilleure des écoutes, à tous ceux qui aiment mes chansons. Merci d'exister dans votre vérité.

Wish people would just cut the kids of stars their own slack. They are their own people, not just the kids of megastars
Boy, you're asking for it by bullying a Beatles daughter...yikes.
Synes Stella mc Cartney har et kjempe talent.
She's a woman on fire!
Her father's name may have gotten her in the door, but she had to have talent to stick around.
The school bullies were just jealous of her. They just wanted to pull the down. It wasn't her dad's fame. It was her own talent and creativity
Oh really?...:)
Who on earth would bully her ? Jealous school girls ? :(
I saw Salma! YUMMMMMM!
I don't know if she does have talent; would she have become successful soley based on her talent or not. But there is no denying that lots of doors did open for her due to her father.
Stella muy guapa y una gran diseñadora de la fashion por algo viene de Paul McCartney
Hard to picture how the bullying went. "oh yeah? well your dad's the coolest guy on earth!"

Nice wearable clothes not like some wayout crap, yes girl done well,

This is a Stella promo. Have you ever heard people who know fashion evaluate her work? Well, you should.
What's her married name
And if her name was Stella Lebitowitz she wouldn't have got anywhere...:)
oh.. this isn't about what Stel thought caused the Bealtes break up and that she really preferred John's songs. well.
Stella is lucky papa Billy got the role!

Paul and Lindas daughter Mary is far prettier and has a wonderful personality.

+dancewitme211 Prettier than Stella McCartney, but that's just my opinion.

she looks nothing like Paul!
Tbh she has a bit of john in her with her sarcasm , only she's not mean with it😂
Stella is talented in making useful connections and making talented people draw designs for her. Cmooonnn. Her cloth is ugly and too expensive.
Who was the short-haired chick with Paul?
Martin picker Linda
If her father was unknown, she would be just as unknown. Nothing remarkable about her clothing line.
*FACTS*
Yes
Please without his father he would never have misled his career.
I hope she's renounced PETA now that PETA has been exposed killing dogs and cats.
Her fathes name might open a few doors but your going to have to have talent to stay in the business she's done good for herself
Sir Dad
Courney Love spending kurts money
Well, Kurt sure can't spend it, now, can he?
Trying to figure out if she looks like Mom or Dad
Stella and Mary look mostly like the Mum. Bit of Paul in the eyes and such. James favours his Dad, save for the hair colour and brows.
She looks exactly like Paul to me but obviously others disagree.
Whats so great about her clothes line and of courses doesn't hurt to have her dad's name nothing great
