For anyone curious, they said they only perform every now and then because thats how they keep it fun, they don't want to do world tours anymore but a few concerts every now and then is fine
The truth is they actually don't get along. There is a power struggle for creativity and main vocalist between Serj and Daron. Serj also has issues with the drummer over major political differences. The drummer is a heavy Trump supporter. Serj has come out saying I am the vocalist, Daron is the guitarist, that's how it is. Rick Rubin commented that he could barely keep the band working together during Toxicity over minor lyrical change debates between Daron and Serj.
@@XXLoderunnerXX Almost everything you've stated is false. While there might be a power struggle for creative output, there is no struggle for main vocals. Serj has literally stated that it was HIS idea for Daron to take on more vocal roles in the band. "System of a Down, you are truly extraordinary, capable of blending elements of heavy metal, alternative rock, and Armenian music into a unique and explosive mix. Their songs are not only musically powerful, but also deeply socially and politically engaged. Serj Tankian's voice is incredibly versatile, capable of shifting from delicate whispers to powerful screams, while Daron Malakian enriches everything with sharp guitar riffs and memorable melodies. One of the most admirable things about System of a Down is their ability to tackle complex and often uncomfortable topics, such as war, political corruption, and human rights, while maintaining a sound that is both captivating and provocative. Each member of the band contributes with their unique talent, creating a sonic experience that is both overwhelming and reflective. In short, System of a Down is not just a band, but a true cultural movement that continues to inspire and shake the consciences of listeners around the world.
