Love the Temptations music. This is part of the Motown era & they had a lot of hits in the 60's-80's. "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" is one of my favorites. Other great songs are "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", "I Wish It Would Rain", "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)", "I Can't Get Next To You", "Treat Her Like A Lady", "My Girl" etc. They were known for their harmonies, choreography & dress style.
"Can't Get Next to You" is my favorite song by The Temptations after Dennis Edwards joined. They were on point, but the Classic 5 lineup (Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Otis Williams, and David Ruffin) was untouchable! The harmony, the choreography, the wardrobe? Unmatched. Nobody sang, danced or sounded like them. When David left, he was replaced by Dennis (the first man to sing on this song). He was a really good fit, but there was only ONE David Ruffin. You'll see what I mean if you watch/react to their songs "The Way You Do the Things You Do", "My Girl", and "(I Know) I'm Losing You". You'll also see David's showmanship. 😊
It is not easy to study singing and dancing. The guys from Temptations had to work hard until everything was just right. The more singers, the more difficult the performance.
