    That pocket on the bottom is one of the smartest things they have done.

    Just got my KS delivered today from Snowys .I’m going all out Aussie made so got a sheet set from “SwagPocketz” and a merino wool swag blanket from Saul swags. Yes it has cost a bit more but the quality is top notch! Can’t wait to go bush and try it out. Cheers!

    Adding to my previous comment. Because of my age and back I needed something very comfortable. I have just replaced the foam mat with a 10cm black wolf hexatherm self inflating mat. It fits perfect in the KS swag including under the lip the matress slides into. It’s a big game changer. It’s comfy as and I get a good night sleep.

    I've a 15 year old AOS swag that I've used up until a few weeks ago. Still in great condition but bought another, much more expensive, swag from another manufacturer. Now that I tried the new one (which certainly is nice, to be fair) and was annoyed about a quality control issue, I bought the apex poles and lines the other day for the AOS that I never bothered with all those years ago. AOS sent those items very quickly and am already thinking I should not have bought the new, more expensive new one due to how well made and reliable the AOS one is.
    Eh, I'm a reasonable guy. Am going to give the major manufacturer a fair go as I'm sure all manufacturers have their occasional dud that slips through....

      I think AOS keep things simple, which means there is very little that can fail and quality can be upheld. The bigger brands get a little fancier with their designs which often introduces clips, zips, straps and buckles that can fail over time. Not saying that is what you will experience with your new swag, but a lot of the price goes into features rather than the best materials.
      If you do have issues with manufacturing faults though, make sure you follow it up under warranty.

    Has the same mesh and canvas as in my Aussie-made Ultima swag, most definitely is midge-proof mesh, tried and tested on Qld beach. Have slept in til after 9am many a mid-summer Qld morning, comfortable and not roasting. That's the difference with Aussie canvas to what's sold in most swags now. Super easy setup. Glad AOS are still around 👌.

      This is great feedback thanks, swagging sisters. Midges seem to get in through everything, it's good to know this mesh is up to the task. ~ Ben

    So you can’t close the end off? Just mesh? So not ideal for winter camping in Vic high country?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  5 місяців тому

      Yep, just mesh on the end. You still need ventilation realistically, and its important for managing condensation, so you probably could use in the Vic high country with adequate bedding - I'd just make sure the end opened under an annex or more of a sheltered area of the campsite.

      Sorry, Oz Dog, but we can't get these swags any more based on some changes on the manufacturers side. If you want them you'll need to go directly to AOS now. ~ Ben

    In case anyone is interested. I have a king single and just got an oztrail easyfold jumbo stretcher. The stretcher is 90cm wide and the swag being 85cm fits on it perfectly. The stretcher is solid as a rock as I’m 113kg and could not get it to wobble at all.

    I’m thinking about getting one of these swags as I need a new swag, and also had the idea of maybe taking it on my adventure rides, maybe take the foam matty out and using a hiking mattress so it packs down smaller for the bike rides? Any idea of how small it’ll pack down without the mattress? Could maybe fold it in 1/2 then roll.....

      @SnowysOutdoors  3 роки тому

      As far as size goes - it's hard to say, emorty - the foam mattress does take up a fair bit of space but not sure what you'd save if you replaced it with a self-inflater. Although, you'd gain a lot more comfort. Laine

    How do you stay dry if it rains?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      The top section will keep the rain off, you can just set it up similar to how you would a tarp when creating a shelter. ~ Ben

    I've had the bushman deluxe single for a year and a half now, and it gets a LOT of use camping mainly in the Little Sandy Desert for work. It's as good as they say here, very comfortable and quality. My one bone to pick is the position of the zipper, it runs pretty low, just along the top edge of the mattress. Less of an issue on nice grass like this video but not in the bush. I kick dirt and shit in the swag all the time, bugs crawl in easily if you are sleeping with it unzipped in the heat and I have a bunch of holes in my sheets from the zip getting caught in them all the time (this drives me nuts). If the zip was an inch or more higher it would be way better, alas I have made my choice and must at times curse into the desert skies.

      Thanks for your feedback, they are great swags but I can understand how the low zip may cause issues. Hopefully AOS are keeping tabs on the comments here. ~ Ben

    Great stuff. Is that foam solid 70mm or that crappy eggshell type foam?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      It's a solid foam, Outdoors, at least it was when we filmed this anyway. AOS use top top quality foam, unlike many swags which have foam that easily squashes under anyone's weight. This is a high density Australian Made foam that does not require an upgrade in order to be comfortable. ~ Ben
