Thank you!! This was very helpful for me to upgrade my daughter's RAM in her laptop from 8 Gb to 16 Gb. I'm so glad they made the later generations easier to replace the memory. In the earlier models the RAM was buried under everything. So much better!
Excellent video! I was very worried about the upgrade cost I might incur to increase my RAM but you've made it very easy to understand the process. Hardware has never been my strong suit even though I do front-end dev work LOL! This makes it much less intimidating. Cheers.
Thanks youu!! I was able to upgrade my laptop from a 4 to 12gb In less than an hour this helped me cut so many costs on buying a new one! Actually have the option to open more than one tab at a time now😭😭
I HATE how HP puts the screws under the feet. In environments as dusty as my home or place of work I need to crack my laptops open and clean them out regularly. Might I suggest that, before replacing the feet put holes in them with a suitably-sized hole punch so you can extract the screws through the holes without having to remove the feet again.
Hi Mr.Brue, I'm having a wee bit of trouble adding DDR4-3200 RAM upgrade into this HP Pavilion x360 14-dw1012na. I bought the Crucial RAM stick mentioned in the description and managed to push it in/install it, but upon boot I get the 3 caps lock blinks. Upon removal of the new stick, after a CMOS error, the laptop begins to work as normal again. Is there something I'm doing wrong that's very basic? Apologies for bothering you on an old video!
i have boot from a usb stick to install windows on the new m.2 ssd Sata with 500Gb and the Windows Setup just found 1Gb of storage on it so it cant be installed on it… should i have activate something on Bios? The newest Version have been installed.
I just bought one of these and it must be a newer build I do not see the RAM anywhere, when I remove the heatspreader, which is different in shape, there is only a 512 PCIe M.2 SSD drive?
thanks a bunch! I did pretty much the same with my hp but the cpu almost disappointed me. RAM is 3200MHz but automatically down clocked to 2667 when running bc of cpu specs (apparently cant run xmp to overlock) do you also have the 11th gen i7-1165 or something else?
Model I had was a Pentium Gold 7505. RAM running at 2666MHz is nothing to do with XMP - DDR4-3200 is a JEDEC standard and supported buy the 11th gen Core chips. HP just limited it to 2666MHz for some reason - Dell do similar on their 3000-series machines.
Would the x360 14 ek003dx of 2022 be upgradeable? On Best Buy info section it says it has 2 slots but seen someone else on different site say on onboard memory means soldered so idk as don’t wanna take apart and void warranty if can’t upgrade ram
Hi, thanks for this video, it is really helpful. I did upgrade ssd and ram, the ssd did work but rams did not work, I do not know the problem. When I turn on the pc, power button and capslock button blinking (screen did not on). Then I replace with old ram. Now I am using with just ssd upgrade. BTW, pc rams are same mhz with old one but it has more gb. Other than that, all features are same with old one. What can I do about it ? Thanks.
Looking at the service manual, yes, it should work. Only caveat is if your laptop didn't originally ship with an SSD it may not have the M.2 slot present on the mainboard - in which case open it up and check.
Sir i have hp pavilion x360 14m- dw0023dx model. The model has 256 GB SSD. I want to upgrade it to 1TB. Is it upgradable to 1TB ? As some reviewers hav said that its only upgradable to 512 GB. kindly guide can i upgrade to 1TB ?
Because they make the bottom of the laptop look cleaner with less visible screws (and possibly deter home repairs). They also give a gap between the laptop base and the desk to aid coolingl.

But in 2022 models (12th gen cpu) ram is not upgradable

Hey can you tell me what is the adhesive required for the laptop foot ??
Great video, thank you so much! This chassis matches mine exactly.

Do we have to remove the battery when upgrading the ram
Tell me pleas what model of ram is compatible for exactle the same model x360 14-dw1012na
Crucial DDR4-3200 8GB SO-DIMM: amzn.to/3dWWZ0B
Its not problem if i put that 8gb ram top on 4gb i mean one of 4gb ram and another one of 8gb ram ?
What tool did you use to remove the base?
Did you ever find out?

will Samsung - 970 EVO Plus 1TB PCIe Gen 3 work with HP Pavilion x360 convertible 15-cr0xxx computer?

@@BrueComputing thanks 🙌🏻
@@ayalm50 No worries, glad to help!
Can I update 1 slot RAM 4 to 8GB ? or 2 slot to 8GB ? (DDR4 3200MHz). Thank U so much !
How many hard drives are supported at once on this model?
one
Would you like to know the maximum allowable ssd and ram capacity?
Ram - 32gb
SSD- IDK maybe 4tb if you find one but I think 2tb
Im confused, wheres the part where you upgraded the ram?
7:07 - 8:22 - Its got a chapter for it on the timeline and in the description.
I changed the hard disk but hp generates the next error "no boot device" do you know how i can resolved?
The replacement drive will be empty - you need to either clone the contents of the old drive to it, or clean install Windows 10 from a USB stick.
@@BrueComputing I cloned my old disk but it didnt work. What SSD did you use?
@@pepel3200 I normally use Crucial P2 drives. What software did you use to clone?
Is NVME slot is available
for the storage you totally removed the old stick and discarded it?! isnt there aditional slot for storage upgrade?
Can this laptop take two 16gb sticks?

Yes if it has one currently, I would just take the one out you have then order the same one or go to best buy for another one..
You can add a tb
Where is the ram located?
My laptop cant turn on😢
same I took the ram out then when I put it back in my laptop wont turn on
Same here
Can I add additional 2nd SSD in it ?
What happens if you add a Lenovo laptop ram into a hp laptop?
If it is the same specification (DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM) it should work fine.
Grax, i love you
What's so difficult in showing ALL of the laptop instead of areas NOT being worked on?
Why does HP insist on those stick-on rubber strip feet?? 😠
Because they make the bottom of the laptop look cleaner with less visible screws (and possibly deter home repairs). They also give a gap between the laptop base and the desk to aid coolingl.
@@BrueComputing No need for them to do that as proper feet do the same. It's the 'deter home repairs' is the real reason IMHO 😏
конч, зачем отдирать резинки полностью, если можно отогнуть 1 сантиметр и выкрутить винт
i have a 2x32 ram set would it support the 64 gbs?
