Wildly underrated vehicle. 9/10 people never take their "manly" 4x4 off-road or through any conditions that truly test its capability - so why not drive something that excels in the scenario it is most often used in? This motor is sweet as a nut and the handling is superior to any body on frame pickup truck. Add to that the utility of having a waterproof trunk in the bed, full-size truck payload, extra width for cargo and rear seat passengers, and Honda reliability and you have a very compelling package. As more trucks move toward turbo/hybrid powertrains having something with a ZF 9-speed and N/A V6 will be an asset if you plan on keeping it for the long run.
The big 3 truck manufacturers admitted to starting the unibody/"not a real truck" slander back in 2007 because they knew the Ridgeline would cut into their truck profits...AND it worked! Honda Ridgeline remains teased and overlooked. Look how many Truck Supremacists are still brainwashed.
An AWD midsize truck that drives like a sports car?? You made me a little nervous on the winding road and NO WAY IN HECK would I take a new truck off in that off roading, but then I'm an old fart too! I'm currently driving a 2018 Tundra but have been thinking about getting a smaller truck and the Ridgeline would be my first choice at this point due to the fact that everyone else has gone to Turbo 4s. I'm old school and don't like those things, too much crap to go wrong, plus this is a Honda! Great, informative video. I have questions but they'll answer those at the dealership.
Simple truck. But god for $46k.... Hard to justify this. You can get a Ranger XLT for right at $40k, Canyon AT4 at nearly same price. Yeah, you are getting Honda reliability but the price point is too high for what you get.
That's the Chicken Tax for ya. Any light trucks that aren't American made are subject to a 25% tariff. Easy to hit a lower price when your competition will always be 25% more expensive 😂
@@mcmudkippthis truck doesn’t have the chicken tax because it is made in the ISA and had the highest domestic parts content. And you aren’t getting the new Ranger for cheaper with equal content. Sadly, all midsize trucks have gotten expensive just like everything else.
I love how guys deride this for not being a “real truck” for “real men” and then complain about things like a soft closing tailgate because they might break their fingernails or ruin their nail polish. 😅 That said, the dual action mechanism does make it surprisingly heavy.
@@Carstourandstartup go and learn something. Santa cruz, maverick and this ridgeline are fake truck bcuz it’s literally honda pilot with the back cut off and its towing capacity is far least than its class like tacoma or frontier and also its looks like soccer mom’s oddysey style looking and it literally a honda pilot with the nack cut off. Such a great V6 engine. Love the V-Tech sound on these things.
@@christopherjohn1467 YES, and so smooth!!
I like the offroad section in test videos of pickup-style vehicles extremely relaxing

Test drove a ‘24 BE. It didn’t disappoint. So I bought one. Just waiting on my new adventure to start.
@@mikedgenx Congratulations!
It's nice to see two simple traditional round gauges for speed and tach. Much nicer than the display on the Passport.
The tach is a screen. The speedo is a gauge.
This was a good video
Good truck
cool color
Not until the 2024 MY, the Ridgeline had an older infotainment system. So for 2024 it now has the new infotainment system
not just that, the instrument cluster was only updated this year too
Who here loves this truck
Me my favorite
The beeping of the Key Fob not detected still sounds the same :) and the push button start is same on the inside :) 😊😊
Very nice pickup 🛻 4x4 look very cool HONDA 100/99.9 very good

This truck is so powerful, technological, and reliable... By the way, what a landscape and nice suburb you chose to do the review. Where is that?
Lake Forest, CA
@@tonyrusso58 Thanks
These drive way too smooth for a truck lol
Winding road magazine take your time doing your videos don’t listen to other people record any car
Where was this filmed?
Probably America judging by the speed limit signs.

You get better ride quality with the same capabilities. I don't get why people are chasing a rougher ride with the same capability.

Can’t even have a soft landing lift gate? Honda sucks at the easiest things 😂
people like the sturdy thud and feel on honda doors this is not luxury
It was supposed to be like that because it also has a swing gate with only one cable holding one side
