I purchased a 2024 Black Edition in early February, it now has a little over 4000 miles without any problems. I compared other trucks but for the features, ride comfort, price, reliability, I selected the Black Edition. I also didn’t want a turbo engine and the VTEC has proven itself as a good engine. This is my second Ridgeline, I owned a 2012 prior to getting the 2024. I looked at other Full and mid size trucks made by Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Chevy and GMC but after evaluating my needs’ I picked another Ridgeline. I would like for it to sit a couple of inches higher but I’m satisfied with it and I don’t go off roading. I may consider a leveling kit one day to raise the front.
I'm coming from an 08 RAM 1500 and have my eye on this guy. One thing I appreciate about Honda they seem to be more about continuous improvement than changing things around like other manufacturers.
On the 2025 version, hopefully they update the front end and give this vehicle a leveling kit. And then I'm ready to buy one. I'll definitely buy this before I get a Toyota Tacoma. Those things are blowing up
Nice look at the Ridgeline. It is a nice ride no doubt. It does bug how Honda as a rule forces customers into higher trims for simple upgrades. Like the sound system you mentioned.
VS. the 2023... 1) Pro - A real speedometer in the dash. 2) Con - new center console blob. (The outgoing seperate armrests, with sliding top/lower console - is genius)
I am actually avoiding buying a 2024 because of the changes they made. The trailsport specifically because it has a lot less than the previous RTLE has.
Con: VCM (Variable Cylinder Management). At highway speeds it causes vibration. I was told by the dealer "that's the way it is with VCM, it's a common complaint". After doing research on that subject it seems it's a trait of the Honda J35 engine with VCM for many years (ex. Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline, etc). They sell aftermarket products like VCM muzzler or VCM Tuner to mitigate. I just purchased a 2024 $40K+ truck. Why should I have to put that aftermarket device on?
Given that the bed is of composite material, is it sturdy enough to drill and install a rail system like that of the Nissan Frontier's multi-link system or Ford Maverick's DIY rail system?
ACC doesnt work below 25MPH so it is not stop and go.. Blind spot monitoring doesnt work below 20MPH. two front parking sensors are only in the front corners.. it will not detect a parking pole or smaller car . the front passengers seat does not have height adjustment. it does not offer hill descent control.. if you put a tonneau cover on the truck bed then the depth is just over 16 inches deep. kinda limits what you can put in there ..
Still no small cab with a 6' bed option. What's the hold up Honda? You can make Civics with 2 doors, with 4 doors, with a trunk and even with a hatchback. But you can't make a Ridgeline without rear seats I'll never need and a long bed? Annoying how almost all vehicles have to have seating for 5 whether you're a solo driver or not.
In my opinion Hoda should have really lifted the truck atleast an 1in or 2 compared to the other models with the trailsport trim. thats why on my 2024 trailsport truck I put a small 1.5 in lift on it. besides that I think this truck is very capable with a lift kit and very comfortable. I do hate that Honda is still using a Timing belt that needs replacment every 60K-100K miles but the engine in this think is known for its reliability. Well except for the VCM in this engine but you can get a device to bypass that. seeing as this is the only midsize truck to offer a true V-6 engine I am sold and that is why I bought one. plus 0-60 in 6.3-6 seconds in a midsize truck is not that bad compared to the tacoma. plus the tacoma cost a lot more.
@@MeynMotorGroup I think any vehicle you lift is going to be affected by wind more. I have no issues. still very comfortable. just towed 3,000 pounds and the truck was great!!!!
Agreed. I added the VCM delete. Tows my boat (under 3k lb) just fine. Rides nice. Gets decent mpg. Rides much better than my F250 and my wife usually drives the Honda. Overall, impressed with RTL package and the local dealer was discounting them about under MSRP.
Ridiculous pricing on sedans at the local Honda dealerships means trucks will be priced way more insane. As it's Texas and people want their trucks far more than I ever would.
Yea my local dealers are at MSRP for most their stuff AC is the only way to go on new Hondas. Sedans leasing for $200-$300 a month range crazy discounts on hybrids too
@@MeynMotorGroup Somebody in the slickdeals comments says Texas crushes you on sales tax if you lease, which appears to be confirmed on a search. So maybe that's not a realistic option. Meanwhile, there is a Toyota dealership just out of town that appears reasonable if I wanted to buy a new vehicle on short notice one of these days.
@@davidglad yea I think I’ve heard about this but a bunch of people on the Leasehackr forum are located in Texas and they say “it’s one of the best States to Lease..” apparently they ask for a lease tax credit from the dealer and the underwriters hook something up, I’m not quite sure you would have to look into it. But ordinarily I believe the reason why Texas leases are supposed to suck is because they will tax you on the full price of the car and not just the lease residual
I believe this engine is utilizing a timing belt instead of a chain,if this is correct not good for long term unless you don’t mind spending the money when the recommended service is required.
I looked at a Toyota Tacoma before I bought my Honda Ridgeline and getting into the back seat was a process and the Honda Ridgeline has more interior room and certainly a bigger backseat
According to the journalist press media website no it does not. According to the consumer site you are using, it does say it comes with the 540 watt unit but that’s wrong as there is no center speaker only 7 speakers total. I go more in depth on this in the full review that I’m going to drop.
I have a ridgeline now and it’s nice but wish it had more legroom in the rear , that’s why my next truck will be a fullsize truck but don’t know which brand , any recommendations???
Tundras right now have deep discounts but new Tundra has less rear legroom than the Competition. AutoCompanion has great deals on RAM 1500 and Silverado those have massive interiors
Most reliable full size truck right now with major discounts and the best factory warranty is the Nissan Titan. Cookeville TN dealer is doing up to 10k off msrp. The Titan comes with a 5 year / 100k bumper to bumper. It was the second most reliable but when Toyota stopped the 5.7L tundra, Titan is now first. The 2007-2021 and the new tundra crewmax has enough room for me to sit behind myself at 6’ 1” with ample room to spare. I wouldn’t buy the 2022+ tundra though unless it had a lifetime power train warranty. Too many issues still.
@@americandude3825 I agree if I was to get a fullsize truck I would get a nissan Titan. love the way they look and they are reliable. the ridgeline is still my favorite midsize truck

Getting to this one late today, but it seems like a reasonable practical vehical, BUT, the spare tyre location is STUPID as it means if you have a full load in the back and you get a flat good luck getting all that crap out to get to your spare tyre especially if you need a fork or it's just too heavy to move out on your own, you could be stuck on the side of the road for a very long time, it's why almost all utes have the spare on a chain underneath the tray.
Yup def an inconvenience I’m guessing the trunk is too deep so it’s not able to house the spare tire underneath. This is an interesting product where they tried to reduce the inconveniences as much as they could but compromises still pop up here and there with this.

This has a really nice interior too. I think for most people unibody is fine, just have to make sure the vehicle is fine for the usage of the buyer.
