Her start value is also significantly lower that Melnikova and the other medal contenders. If she upgrades she really could challenge for a medal because she is so clean
Probably she developed the Mustafina from the Memmel recently or wasn't 100% sure about completing it, so she didn't trained the routine with both turns. Actually the only girl I remember doing both Mustafina and Memmel was Aliya herself.

I'm not sure that's accurate but could be wrong. I think what's more important to the whack ass WTC is having them dance INTO the corner.
I think they should just say you can't stand too long in a corner instead of the stand on one foot rule.

she is a romanian, "roxana popa" says it all, her parents emigrated to Spain some 16 years ago.

Yeah it Is a shame and she Is very consistent as well the problem was maybe the difficulty which was 5,4 while melnikova was 5,8-5,9
