It is way more difficult for someone so tall with her long legs to do these exercises than it is for someone tiny with short legs. Her body shape gives her that extra "umf" too. And yes, we all had to do ballet along with gymnastics to give us more grace for the bar and floor exercises.

Svetlana was somewhat coherced into cutting her hair before competition, she thought it would make her faster getting ready and show it was OK for girls to have boyish hairstyles if they chose, some wanted to see if alongside all the psychological demands if competition a taking of her typically pretty image would affect her mentally. She let this happen, she is truly amazing to risk this knowing what she stood to lose when the mind and psychology of sport is such a huge thing.
I think she played up to the drama a bit. The Stalder full turn into Tkachev is very difficult and she fell on it in the team finals. She fell on it in the AA final as well. It was a risky move. Had she made that skill, she would've done the vault again. Every athlete was allowed to re-do their vaults. NBC commentators made it seem that the mistake on bars was a result of Svetlana being emotionally overcome after she fell on that mismeasured vault. Nope: she lost focus on a tricky skill. She could have done a giant full into Tkachev but she went fir the Chow. .I love Sveta but she also lived in her own reality. That's why she's the queen of artistic gymnastics. @@GullibleTarget Not sure what "Stalder full turn into Tkatchev" or "giant full into Tkatchev" you're talking about because her stalder Tkatchev (it's a Ricna, not a Chow) was after a cast with half turn. @@GullibleTarget okay, you’re saying because she fell on TF then the vault thing didn’t affect her mentally… But she performed well in quals and in the bars final, being the favorite to win the event, there’s NO WAY you can tell the vault situation didn’t affect her on bars
@@ChainChomp2 I'm not as versed in all the elements such as yourself but yeah that's what I meant with the stalder full into Tkachev, I was too lazy to look it up on the wiki page😂but I stand to my point: she didn't fall because she was emotionally rattled after her fall on vault.
