- During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday on President Biden's ATF nominee David Chipman, Senator Mike Lee grilled Biden's nominee on his previous gun-related statements.
Chipman is the exact reason for the Bill of Rights and the Framers of the Constitution foresaw this problem
Yep. Thomas Jefferson inadvertently wrote about Mr. Chipman at length.
The only logical reason for gun registration is the eventual confiscation.
No agreeing or disagreeing just reminding you we have to be smarter than the politicians so don’t use terms like “only” as it locks you in to a stand point.

Every legal firearm purchase is already tied to the legal buyer. SWIM says transfer all legally purchased firearms to someone trusted, legally allowed to own a firearm and close to death.

There are several states passing statutes like these to combat the illegal overreach of ATF. It has been held up in Supreme Court decision that federal agencies cannot force collaboration of local LE for federal criminal complaints. If they want it, make them go after it alone!

Lee did an excellent job here. He stuck to the actual facts, and did not wildly speculate. He did not resort to simply calling the other side evil, as most politicians do these days.

A suppressor actually reduces the speed and accuracy of bullets, so wouldn't that make them LESS dangerous than normal? A product that makes a horribly loud sound doesn't seem like a very well designed product, that's quite a flaw. You're going to subject everyone to loud thunder-like booms every time anybody anywhere fires a gun when it's easily avoidable with a simple attachment? Why do vehicles have mufflers then? Wouldn't people be less likely to get hit by them if they could hear them coming more easily? If you put a really good muffler on a pickup truck you could sneak drive right up on a bunch of people on a sidewalk and plow them down. It's perfect analogy, a suppressor is a gun muffler.
Suppressors almost always increase velocity slightly. As for "accuracy", group position may shift compared to unsuppressed, but sights can be adjusted for that. Group size is usually not affected and sometimes improves. The muffler analogy is correct. As dumb as it sounds, I've seen proposals to require noise makers on electric cars to warn pedestrians.

P.S. You are correct about suppressors on a firearm. They do HINDER ACCURACY AND VELOCITY. That is huge reason why nobody shooting a Palma or Wimbledon Trophy rifle match uses a suppressor. A "Silencer" is even worse for velocity loss.

I am a 2nd amendment Supporter. 100%... But I am also against supressors/silencers. There is literally no legitimate reason for needing one unless you are a commando... All of the reasons you can list as to why someone would need a suppressor have been debunked.
1. Hearing protection, nope... Ear plugs work even better.
2. Hunting reasons, nope... If u need a suppressor to sneak up on a deer, you shouldn't be hunting.
Literally the only reason for wanting one, is because it looks cool. That's it.
So how does it make a gun more dangerous?

But, what it does do, is it makes people who would use the gun more dangerous to police. Using suppressors could make criminals more stealthy. Officers and technology alike would have a harder time identifying gun fire, the direction its coming from, the caliber used, etc...
The question you should be asking is, why do people want it, other than "it looks cool"... Because there is absolutely. No legit reason to have one. It doesn't help with hearing protection better than other options, it doesnt improve accuracy, it doesn't make the weapon easier to wield... What reason is there?
