I've just ordered an Instant Pot and waiting for it to be delivered. Thanks for your great video ... it was very instructive and I can't wait for mine to arrive! My mother used to cook a lot of delicious meals in an old fashioned Pressure Cooker. This one looks much easier (and safer!) to use and I'm so looking forward to the pressure cooking function. Thanks again, Terry
@@AgnesMann yes I have one on order now I wasn't sure if I needed one because I have the old kind and a slow cooker but this looks a lot safer to use and the slow cooker is slow and you don't allways want to wait that long to cook a meal.
@@glenyshanlon5112 yes safety is one thing that sold it for me when deciding on traditional between pressure cooker and instant pot. Did you make anything in it yet?
Yes, I was just demonstrating how to use it, never said to use it on the hob, it was an easier angle to film at... Thank you/ do you also have the Instantpot? How do you like it?
Just joined the instantpot cult myself - needed one that I could minimise standing and cleaning with (I have a back injury that makes that exceptionally painful). I'm going to try that type of chicken recipe, it looks the goods indeed; also looks surprisingly inexpensive for quite such a large meal too. Have your power bills changed since you started favouring this thing?
To be honest I haven’t noticed any increase in bills so I don’t think so. I guess when I use the pot I don’t use the hob so it evens out. Glad you have joined the cult! Welcome!
there is a button to regulate between them on my model as I am demonstrating on the video, so unless you have a different model you should be able to see it
I've been using an electric pressure cooker for many years. Now mostly use an IP Duo Nova 6 qt or IP 8qt Ultra. One suggestion for you is to tie back your hair when cooking. NOBODY wants to find a strand of hair in their meal! Thanks for the video. (My first time on your Channel.)
Hi and that’s for advice. When I am not filming a cooking videos my hair are always tied up indeed. I’m glad you came across my channel and I hope you can find some other content that might interest you.
@@AgnesMann Thanks for your reply. Though the IP has no flame, when cooking on a stove where the burners are flames or high electric/induction heat, always a good idea to keep hair tied back. Just started watching the "India Trip" video. As a "spoiled" (?) American, I'm not sure that I could live in India. We have many Indians (mostly Gujarati people) in my area so of course some wonderful Indian restaurants, too. Hope your headache went away in India. Yach shay mash! (best I can do).
Please, this is the first time I used the Instant Pot pressure cooker, 8 liters, Duo Plus. I made rice with noodles. After browning the noodles, I canceled and ran the rice program. It worked for 12 minutes. It kept running on the word “auto,” and the time did not return, and I canceled. I smelled the smell of burning rice. What should I do?
Hey! I'm about to order one. 1. Apart from the preset functions can I also control the time/pressure manually? 2. Can i put another smaller steel bowl with food to be cooked inside the big steel one that comes with the insta pot?
Yes you can control time and pressure but as much as its probably going to work if you put a pot inside the big pot, I do not believe the manufacturer would ever recommend this. hope that helps
From London :) I'm very used to the good ol pressure cooker back in India. I already hate induction stoves that have only preset functions.. Just didn't wanna endup buying an instapot that's not manually configurable.. Thanks a lot for the video.. Very helpful :) Just placed my order.
Yes you can, it's called Pot in Pot cooking, steaming the contents of the inner pot under pressure. Don't forget to add the water in the outer pot. We cook all the time like this on our mission ship. It's good for steaming rice and many other uses.
You clean it like you clean every other hob. Once the dish is cooked. And you no longer use it Since the pot is connected to power best not to put water on it while it’s plugged in
June 1st, 1866 Sup nerd, So, I’m a white cis male 🤷🏻♂️ probably already wrong… and I skipped through portions of the video 😬 Still a solid review. As a dude, I can say, we love watching other dudes use the tools we own and talk about how great they are … Stihl, Hustler Mowers, and Milwaukee… you know, I’m the basic b of white guys… anyway. Back on track… you stated in the title that you would say if it was worth it or not. You seem to enjoy using it. However, I never heard you say yes or no. Am I wrong? I don’t know… 😅 it kinda sounded like you said a sorta yes right before you spoke about the burning from lack of water. But I’m not certain. Can this pressure fry ? As in crispy chips and chicken
no it can only saute but not deep fry
Can you release air on this manually
yes, its a vent that you release the air from- the little knob on top
Maybe this is super common but you make soup the exact same way I am 😊
Wow that amazing. Do you also make it in instant pot
