I'm an over the road trucker and let me tell you the 3qt model is perfect! It saves me alot of money while on the road when it's time to eat and it's alot healthier for me too vs the alternative fast food.
Totally recommend anybody to get one!

Andre Tosch, When the bowl is still a little warm take it out and just wipe it down with some sterile wipes. The same goes for under the lid too. And that's it. Done! :-)
Unless of course you made a huge mess with it. Then you gotta hose it down.

Thanks. This is the best introductory video regarding the pressure cooker. It is also a unique demonstration of cooking real food. I have seen so many UA-cam videos about preparing dog meals with those cookers.

It should be noted that the 'cup' included in the instant pot is the same as rice cooker 'cups'
These are not American cups. ...but rather Japanese (metric) cups. Which is about 3/4 of our cup in the US.

Thank you for this review. I got the Duo Mini for Christmas and I am a little intimidated to use it as I've never used a pressure cooker before. To anyone who's considering the duo mini: it gets the burn notice every time I use the sauté mode before using the pressure cook mode. You need to cool down the bowl after using sauté.

    • @gail4101
      @gail4101 Місяць тому +1

That’s why I gave my first two away!!!😵‍💫 until I discovered it was me doing the sauté improperly…you do not have to cool it down…just turn the sauté off, turn on the pressure cook button, add the liquid you needed to use anyway and make sure to use a wooden spoon to scrape/stir the bottom fond (browned bits) and then proceed from there…I ruined a few roasts till I discovered that that’s why

Extremely helpful video! I bought mine second hand and there was no instruction/recipe booklet (this is my first Instant Pot). Rice was the first thing I cooked, after watching your demo. It was perfect! Thanks for taking the time to explain the Normal and More and how to cycle between them, as well as each step of the process. Best demo I've seen yet!!

Thanks for this! I have been debating which size to buy (3 vs 6) for a two person household, and most videos recommend the 6 quart, which seems excessive for two people who are not meal prepping. Given how much food you managed to cook in the pot, it's clear the 3 quart is exactly what I need.

This was so thorough! I’ve been wanting an Instant Pot but lacked the counter space. Since my small rice cooker is on its way out this little IP can take its place. I was worried it would be too small to be useful but I’m impressed at how much you were able to make in there! Thank you for the great video!

When she says turn the valve to sealing, she means ‘sealing’ the pressure cooker. You will find a ‘sealing’ position and a ‘venting’ position. The sealing position allows the pressure cooker to build up the pressure. ❤️

I do not like sticky rice. Once I stopped rinsing/soaking the rice, I get tender fluffy (not gummy) rice. Just sayin’. Nice review video. Direct and to the point. Keep in mind that the cup that comes with the instant pot is not an actual “one” cup measure. It is a 3/4 of a cup measure.

The only buttons I use are saute, steam, yogurt, and pressure cook. I've never slow cooked in an IP, mainly because I have a slow cooker. So don't be afraid to pressure cook without using the pressure cooking presets.

Thanks for the recipe! I bought the identical model of Instant Pot, and this was the first thing I cooked, and it turned out perfect!

I’m so confused. I’m looking into one but this seems confusing. Why was the rice button never used to con the rice? So the timer is 4 minutes but then it says 25 min total? What happened for the other 21 minutes?

Can you review Instant Pot Duo Nova 3-Qt? and how it differs from Duo Mini 3-Qt?

Excellent! Very well detailed demo given 👏. Noticed that 6qt has a “Manual” button but appears 3qt doesn’t have this option. Next, I see “pressure cook” for 3qt where 6qt doesn’t have this. Just wondering if both buttons functionality is same though the name differs. Please advise.

Hi Srivalli, great observation! I believe the "Manual" and "Pressure Cook" are the same - you can adjust the pressure level and cooking time with both buttons 😀

Just got one last week, but wish I had seen this first. I am not sure I am going to like it as there seem to be so many steps involved with most recipes instead of just dumping it in and cooking on one setting. I will try a few things, though, before writing it off.

When using slowcook, should it seal or not? And should I adjust the cooking time? Many thanks

You need to seal it on every program, yexcept sauté, keep warm and yogurt, so it can pressure cook.

I bought this same Instant Pot. I noticed at the bottom on my Instant pot there is some residue coming off on my counter top. What does that mean? Do I have to put the Instant pot on something while it is cooking?
