Having own the S20FE 5G that I got discounted £100 UK back in 2020, that was the perfect balance value and performance. I used it in dual sim mode, so backed up photos and data to a USB memory stick or Samsung T7 SSD drive. So I was used to not using or having the microSD slot. I am not a fan of the cloud! I agree with you about the processor. The S20FE was on a par with the rest of the S20 series, plus in Exynos regions, the Snapdragon version was more powerful than the Exynos S20s including the S20 Ultra! Now this S23FE is a generation behind. To make it worse the Exynos regions will get the 2200, that was already behind the Snapdragon 8 gen 1! That is effectively 2.5 steps back. Another problem here in the UK, is the S23FE won't be on sale until December. Samsung will need to have special discounts for it to work, especially when the S24 series is coming and the S23 series is already being discounted by some sellers. I also own the S23 Ultra, so won't be getting the S23FE anyway. The only things going for the S23FE is the 4 years of updates, features for the S series and the cameras having a true telephoto lens. Let us see if it sells well.
Will probably upgrade to the original S23 from my S20FE. I wish the S23 had more storage options, though. 128GB shouldn't exist on any phone, more than $500. The minimum should be 256GB.
Im currently using the galaxy a51 but I dont know how much longer my a51 device will be supported so I was thinking about upgrading to this s23 fe but yeah I do agree I want to wait till the price drops.
I got it for 250 bux Canadian black friday. Not only that I got a 250 dollar gift card at london drugs with that phone. A deal so crazy I feel like freaking Sherlock Holmes. Best part was I did no shopping around. London drugs was the first and only place I went to check deals out. Mind you I had to change plans to get this deal but I had to change plans anyhow.
Why wouldn't you get the 256GB? That's a no-brainer. The phone works great. There is no battery drain on the phone. The battery lasts 2 days easy. The processor is equivalent to the Tensor 3. The Pixel 7a and 7pro battery life suck. The 8gen 1 has been well optimized. I have the one plus 11 and the 7pro. I haven't touched them since using the S23 fe.
I have this device, got it for $350 tax in CDN with trade in from Samsung with free Buds FE (which I sold for $80). One item to mention is how heavy this device is at 209g. Coming from an S10 which weighed considerably less.
Coming from the s20fe with larger screen the s23fe is very heavy for its size. However glass back is a good choice for thermodynamics. Of course glass adds weight.
Sticking with my good ol' S10+. Snapdragon 855 is still plenty and it has the now removed features like the headphone jack and Micro SD card slot. Great phone even now despite being on Android 12 One UI 4.1!
Samsung should really consider narrowing their portfolio of devices considering their crazy software support schedule now. A, M, S and FE series not to mention their tablets and watches. 😂
Chances are Samsung will evaluate their low - tier, mid - tier , flag ship ... but it could be Regional (what sells strongly in North America, may not be the same as Asia or South America or the Middle East or Europe - so it could be North America gets four Devices to choose from + 2 different Tablets and hopefully they will continue to make an 8-inch because I don't need a 10-inch Galaxy Tab).
I'm tempted to say that the A54 5G is the better phone, especially given the lower price & feature set. Not crazy about this one only having a 4500 mah battery while even the A14 5G has a 5000 mah battery :/

Storage a non issue if u get the 256gb model. One thing it is prone to is overheating. Thats the only fault i can give it. Doesnt really impact the experience but there is times it gets a bit warm if you are running a lot of stuff at once. The performwnce didnt seem to suffer though.

I had the same issue up until a few days ago. Idk if it was an update or what but I would start the day at 100% and be at 20% by lunch. Just recently though it's gotten a lot better.
I honestly was not expecting a Fan Edition from Samsung (at least not in North America), I was expecting them to re-evaluate their Chipset and maybe team up with Mediatek to deliver an Exynos that will go head-to-head with a Qualcomm Snapdragon (you got to decide as the Consumer if it's worth paying for this vs maybe buying the standard Galaxy S23 at a discount OR wait for the S24 that's supposed to be manufactured with aerospace-grade titanium just like the latest iPhone) 🤔 A very well thought out review for this device

I mean they S23 FE should've gotten at least the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. Those Bezels are pi pretty big for a $600 phone too.
