My issue is when they release both variants - Exynos and Qualcomm. If one is clearly better than the other, then you are giving the middle finger to all your customers that are forced to buy the less capable chip. Just tried to hand held the phone today. The physical looks, especially the bezel is so ugly that I decide not to buy it. The dimension is almost identical to the S23+, but it's a shameful 6.4"! Despite all the praises by reviewers, I decide not to spend my money on an ugly phone that I'll use for few years to come. It just unbearable.
I have almost the same opinion as you. Too thick, too heavy, did not like the bezels and the shiny rear glass. Long before the S23 FE rumors started, I was looking to replace my S20 FE 5G for a Galaxy S23+. The prices here in Brazil were dropping almost to the point I was able to buy one. Then this week the S23 FE was launched and as expected, all other phones went up in price. Even if the S23 FE drops in price, I am almost convinced that the right model for me is a Galaxy S23+, not because it has a Snapdragon processor but because the S23 FE has some design choices I did not like.
I wanted to buy the s23 fe. Luckily, it is not available in germany until 2024. I have to admit that i m Not a Fan of the s23 fe. Its not a Fan Edition anymore. Samsung ignores their customer wishes to capitalize on the Ultra Series. I will go with the pixel 8. I dont mind exynos. I only dislike the exynos battery life
And then there's the s21fe. Much lighter, much better price, has 3 more android updates and even has a better front glass : the gorilla glass victus Vs the gorilla glass 5 in this one. No reason to buy the s23fe at this point.
I got mine on last Saturday and put it to work yesterday. I had an S21fe before as well. The size of it was better. This is the only thing I find as "negative" in S23 FE. The screen is too big to me, but the design I like, it is fast, the cameras work well. Bezels? - my iphone 12 pro has also massive bezels... I got mine for 620 dollars in Ghana, got a nice siliconw cover amd buds as well for free. These two items worth of 130 dollars. I am happy with this device and after IOS I feel more free and the functions, tricks, features are practical, nice. I checked other phones too, but I will never have Xiaomi again, asmy mi9 died after a year of usage. I rather buy a strong, good brand with something reliable than a Chinese brand as Techno or Infinix. They have cool designs but the cameras are weak. Vivo ditto and for this pricerange I rather choose a well known brand.
3 reasons why this is wrong. 1. A series never uses a flagship chip. 2. A series never has wireless charging or powershare 3. A series never has dynamic AMOLED 2X displays
I appreciate the minimalist simple design....but the thick bezel just doesn't feel right. It makes the phone feel even bigger and chunkier and a waste of its size.
It's an alright phone, but they've marked up the price soo much. 1100aud when the moto edge 30 is a higher rater phone overall and you can get is for 700aud.
Once you notice it, you can see there's a little bit of haloing (either from oversharpening, or tone mapping, or both) that's characteristic of video from Samsung Galaxy devices.
Good review, but I have a question Should I upgrade from my S21 FE? I really want a better camera, but more than that, a better chipset than Snapdragon 888, because on S21 FE is a bit poorly optimized after One UI 5
I don't think this is much of an upgrade. I have the S21 FE and I am quite happy with it. What do you dislike? If you really want to upgrade look somewhere else. Xiaomi 13 and S23 are sick.
@hannes6114 Well, I made a huge mistake not buying 256GB storage because now my 128GB variant is full and runs a bit slow. Also, I have some weird display problems, it las green tint on the bezels and the camera cut-out
I have a question why can't i get the color mint in 256gb at metro or Verizon? Those are the two things i use also best buy. Is it because its sold out ir don't have it in 256gb? I haven't gotten a new phone for a while now and i just wanna do my research
Genuine review not like the fake one's or apple's puppies This review is really for samsung one's but the battery is literally low but I'm handling it happily
I have an A51 that's asking for retirement, specially the battery. I want something a bit faster than the A5x series but spending 1000€ on a damn S23+ it's too much when the battery will be ruined after 2 or 3 years. That's where the 23fe should come in. But either they come out really cheap or, i feel, there's no point. And btw.... those bezels. They're terrible. Can't get it why they keep doing that. The A51 is a 3yr old phone, mid level phone, and the bezels are half the thickness of the s23fe's. They're even thinner than the regular S23's!!
I really wanted to get this but I just now noticed how insanely rounded the screen corners are. What in the name of fucc. This is halfway to just being a circle shaped phone now.
S23 fe has the same front, ultra wide, main camera as the s22 but the S23 fe gets an 8 mp telephoto camera vs 10 mp on the s22 and it's similar to the telephoto on s20 fe
If you want good display and excellent battery life go A55, if you want S serie, go s23 for similar price as S23 FE. Or simply go S24. S23 FE lacking behind S23 in battery life. This is no go for me.
My Exynos S22U was a dumpster-diving wreck, and it was shameful of Samsung to release that. Thankfully, Samsung got punished for this incompetence and lost the billion-dollar Qualcomm contract. This shock to the system meant they cancelled the E2300 and instead did some much-needed work to improve what was a disastrous node and chip. I am glad to hear that it has been fixed, but this is not praiseworthy; this is what we should have had 18 months ago. So, although I get you are Samsung affiliated, the take here is that Samsung has fixed it, not anything inspiring. As for the S23FE, it's solid in a crowded market and just another choice for Samsung fans. It certainly would not be my first choice at the UK starting price of £599, and in any case, it isn't released here until Dec 8.
I'll never choose Apple as I can't stand that ugly notch. As for performance, how much do you need anyway? The Exynos 2200 has been tweaked and this one has a larger vapor cooling chamber. You can play Honkai star rail and other games like Genshin Impact need some optimization but everything else like COD, PUBG, and BGMI will run just fine. The bezels are a tad thicker but it is better than an ugly notch. In Jan, you'll have the Iqoo 12, Vivo, and a plethora of other Android phones. This one here? A good buy at 45k but anything more is overpriced. I'd get it for the telephoto.
Exynos has proven its worth, tried it, hated it for overheating, unstable performance, bad battery life. I dont hate exynos just for the fun of it. Samsung has been claiming they fixed the issue but haven't really did it yet. Imagine paying for premium price for a lesser device of the same unit, just isn't fair.
Watching this on a S23FE and so far I am happy with it. And yeah this using the Exynos doesn't bother me at all. No throttling so far.

From the look and feel to the specs passing by the model number this is totally an A74 disguised as S23FE
3 reasons why this is wrong.
1. A series never uses a flagship chip.
2. A series never has wireless charging or powershare
3. A series never has dynamic AMOLED 2X displays
No it’s not and there is no A74.
@@reziee5897 ofc there isn't, they named it s23fe instead haha
Come from moto g power 2023 to Samsung s23fe and so far I’m loving it 😊😊😊
I appreciate the minimalist simple design....but the thick bezel just doesn't feel right. It makes the phone feel even bigger and chunkier and a waste of its size.
This or the Pixel 8?
It's an alright phone, but they've marked up the price soo much.
1100aud when the moto edge 30 is a higher rater phone overall and you can get is for 700aud.
Cos you used ultra before, so you don't feel the weight.... Upgrade from s21fe is painful due to its extreme weight.
How is it even an upgrade?
Are you using s23 ultra for this whole video bro?this is insane!!i thought its a camera
Once you notice it, you can see there's a little bit of haloing (either from oversharpening, or tone mapping, or both) that's characteristic of video from Samsung Galaxy devices.
Does it have Dolby audio?
It has
Good review, but I have a question
Should I upgrade from my S21 FE? I really want a better camera, but more than that, a better chipset than Snapdragon 888, because on S21 FE is a bit poorly optimized after One UI 5
I never own S21 FE, but if you don't mind with the 'ugly' screen of S23 FE then i think it's worth to upgrade
Also, I have some weird display problems, it las green tint on the bezels and the camera cut-out
@@NovaBoy888 hmmm then it might be worth it
This is the review that I'm looking for. tbh until the phone dies in your possession we don't really exhaust all it's features. Good enough for me.
Your screenshot of the battery time is a lot concerning....
I have a question why can't i get the color mint in 256gb at metro or Verizon? Those are the two things i use also best buy.
Is it because its sold out ir don't have it in 256gb? I haven't gotten a new phone for a while now and i just wanna do my research
Genuine review not like the fake one's or apple's puppies
This review is really for samsung one's but the battery is literally low but I'm handling it happily
Good info just bought one so i needed this video well done!
Fantastoc review . Might be my next phone . My old a90 5g is starting to show its age
Is there an SD card slot?
nope
@@camilonieto3221 thanks
its a no. if u want with SD card slot, go for A54
So it is the same as the 21 Fe just fatter and with thicker bezels
phone is awesome! this coming from an Iphone user.
Im gonna order it in Oct 26th.
Thank you very much for the great review, Bell Canada has this phone for $11 month for 2 years as a boxing day special, looks like a no brainer.
I can't think of a single reason to buy this phone at this price range! So many better options out there!
O fiyat aralığında daha mantıklı cihaz nedir?
like what?
@@aldwin360Like the Xiaomi 13T Pro
@@aldwin360Some Chinese brand that gets like 2 updates and has a camera bump with 208MP AI CAMERA written on it, probably
Give us examples
I bought one, solid phone no regrets.
Very nice Review; just have to get used to Downunder accent.
I really wanted to get this but I just now noticed how insanely rounded the screen corners are. What in the name of fucc. This is halfway to just being a circle shaped phone now.
I watched this video using a Samsung s23fe and I found it amazing
The camera modules having that s23 looks, whilelist the screen having that A series. It looks so bad.
Remember to activate Dolby Atmos
You get a far better sound......
Still using a s20 Fe 5g and it runs perfectly fine. No need to upgrade this year. maybe s24 fe if it had a 3x zoom camera
every phone after s20fe is just disappointed
S23 Fe vs S22 who's better cameras?
S23 fe has the same front, ultra wide, main camera as the s22 but the S23 fe gets an 8 mp telephoto camera vs 10 mp on the s22 and it's similar to the telephoto on s20 fe
S22 propably doesn't oversaturate unlike S23 FE
If you want good display and excellent battery life go A55,
if you want S serie, go s23 for similar price as S23 FE. Or simply go S24.
S23 FE lacking behind S23 in battery life. This is no go for me.
Expensive Version of A74 ....
Good one Samsung 😂
"fan Edition" 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
A series phones do not have wireless charging, flagship chipset or dynamic amoled 2x display
is this a a 5g phone?
just ordered one ... lets go
Overpriced version of the A54
I have a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, do you or anyone else think this would be an upgrade or is my current phone still superior?
Idk how good you phone is but this phone isnt particularly great.
@@hannes6114 thanks for the feedback, I was kinda thinking the same
Sold!
Super happy with my S21 FE, tried this one at a shop, is a step backwards 😂
A step backward on the screen
Other aspect? Don't think so
Don't forget the heat and battery life 👀
My Exynos S22U was a dumpster-diving wreck, and it was shameful of Samsung to release that.
G'day mate, put another shrimp on the barby! 🦐🦐🔥🔥
S22 plus or s23 fe? I enjoyed your content
Better off with the 23fe if the cooling chamber actually works good.
Go for S23 base model
Surely s22 plus or even s23.
Unless you want to use his affiliated link to buy s23fe and help Samsung to pay some of the marketing fee to him
I like super amoled than the dynamic amoled
Yeah but you will get the green line issue in 2 years. Google it and see.
It's look like A54 and A34 and A24 and A14! What the hell Samsung
I also paid 100 for this phone and also my Samsung ultra 23
The second I held it reminded me of the iPhone XR now great value phone but cannot get past the design feels cheap and tacky
Should I get it
No
Get S23
@@hannes6114 Thanks. I just need to save up a little more
Exynos has proven its worth, tried it, hated it for overheating, unstable performance, bad battery life. I dont hate exynos just for the fun of it. Samsung has been claiming they fixed the issue but haven't really did it yet. Imagine paying for premium price for a lesser device of the same unit, just isn't fair.
Great Phone ❤ S23 FE
It does have 4k portrait video😂
Samsung edges be designed like iPhone 6
