These stereotype are misogynistic and deeply homophobic. I live in Australia and i can tell you here its rife amongst our boys and young men. These stereotypes of musculinity are harming our boys. An example is that boys are chastised or ridiculed by their peers, or worse from their parents, for showing emotions "boys don't cry" "toughen up" "don't cry like a girl", I have seen parents say this to their kindergarten age boys 😢. Another example is my 8 year old Son didn't want to wear a pinkish tshirt to school for muftiy day, his words exactly "I will get bullied and called gay", growing up my kids have been able to wear any colour they like, we don't do "gendered" colours. Do girls get bullied for wearing blue coloured clothes? No they don't. There is this culture of chastising and ridiculing boys or men for showing emotions or doing anything that might be seen as nurturing or slightly feminine. Toxic traits of masculinity are linked to violence against women, high suicide rates amongst young boys and men, it is linked to homophobia and even internalised homophobia, so intern, also gender ideology "I'm not gay, I'm just born in the wrong body".

As a man, who grew up as a boy, the VAST MAJORITY of the stigmatization and shaming I, and ALL of my male friends, experienced came from women (like you) who presumed (like you) to project their feminist prejudices upon our NATURAL WAY OF BEING. Sure, sure. Of course I'm not disagreeing that overtly repressive narratives which place arbitrary and decontextualized constraints upon boys is bad... what I'm pointing out is the fact that such narratives are NOT DOMINATE in contemporary western culture. The dominant narrative is that of all the female teachers who take it upon themselves to SHAME, RIDICULE, and summarily DRUG into a state of pharmaceutically enforced passivity every boy born with the apparently "disordered" condition of being TYPICALLY MALE. Please, spare me this old rhetoric about the harmful consequences of "traditional masculinity"... THAT ISN'T A THING ANYMORE; and if you were willing to set aside the myopia of the feminist ideology to which you so incorrigibly cleave, and actually ACTED as though you respected the humanity and individuality of boys by asking THEM about THEIR experiences through childhood, you'd realize the simple fact that in a world wherein "The Future Is Female!" the majority of boys aren't being dehumanized, shamed, and blamed for failing to act ENOUGH like a boy... their punished for their inevitable and incontrovertible failures to STOP being boys. From your comment, it's clear that you fundamentally do not regard males as equally human to yourself, as evidenced by your blithe disregard for even the pretense of considering the possibility that YOUR assessment of the male perspective and experience might be just a little less perfect than you imagine it to be. I would never even think to assert that women and girls do not have a unique and EXCLUSIVELY FEMALE set of experiences and challenges in life... and nor would you, you'd agree that there are simply aspects to female existence that males simply cannot understand for want of a uniquely female perspective; the funny thing is, it never occurred to you to wonder if perhaps it might be the case that there is an equivalently exclusive set of experiences and challenges behind each of the perfectly HEALTHY masculine behaviors that you deign to judge and condemn in consequence of the erroneous assumption that your feminine perspective subsumes ALL valid human perspective. I'm sure you mean well, but truly I say: women like you are creating generations of boys too afraid to live for fear of being the monster feminism takes them to be, and many of them do not recover because they're too busy either biting the bullet they've spent their entire boyhood attempting to reconcile in silent existential despair, or else swallowing that bullet in acts of hopeless acquiescence to the gnawing futility of longing for a sense of belonging that they have always been alienated from.
