Saddle up, then lock and load for a snarky nostalgia trip through the PC versions of the classic lightgun games that took arcades by storm in the ancient 1990s. We're revisiting Mad Dog McCree, Who Shot Johnny Rock? and Space Pirates... with a few guest appearances from other ALG games.
"Oh, you missed that one! Try another!" "Oh, you missed that one! Try another!" "Oh, you missed that one! Try another!"
I swear, I would kill to have "Mad Dog McCree", and "Space Pirates" as actual TV shows, or movies, produced with the exact same directors, actors, and budget! I would watch the hell out of these shows!
Should do a 'where are they now?' article, for the main actors.
I love Mad Dog McCree 2 as a kid!
“You’re looking for trouble stranger?” These games were such a riot back in the arcades back when people went to arcades. I wonder if they’ve got these in Dave and Buster’s.
The character actor who played smallpox in “Who Shot Johnny Rock?” Was Bruce Watson, who is the nephew of Gene and June Lockhart, Who played psycho roles in the 1970s, Including the trashy the Swinging Barmaids, And he acted in episodes of Star Trek as a crew member that doesn’t come back. Sadly, he took his own life in 2009.

Omg I remember Mad Dog McCree! PCGamer, I love you for allowing me jump up and down on my chair screaming at the top of my lugs "I REMEMBER THAT GAME!! I USED TO LOVE THAT GAME!"
PCGamer, bringing the joy of gaming back to us 90's kids. <3
Glad you enjoyed it! :-)
And in 2012, Mad Dog McCree was ported to the 3DS, much to everyone's confusion...

Thanks! Though wouldn't expect them too regularly - they take forever :-)
What’s really cheesy about these ALGs Is, for example, in the game crime patrol, there’s an exotic dancer that’s dancing while the heavies are taking crack shots at you. Rather than running away, she continues her dancing while gunshots are being fired in the strip club.
fantastic video! Really enjoyed it, thanks!
Sure is cool hearing Richard's voice after reading his PCG articles for so many years.
I used to like these games on cdi, still do.
This was a nice trip down memory lane.
Great fun :) Thanks PCG!
I actually have met and talked to one of the actors from The Last Bounty Hunter. Bruce Miles is a VO artist who played Nasty Dan in TLBH.
