  • In this tutorial of an Asymmetric Triangle we look again at those simple, basic rules that we discussed in the Back to Basics series. This time we are using a raised container and an accessory to create a more intermediate style of flower arranging.
    If you want to know more information and a more in depth explanation on the addition of the bottle of wine or a box of chocolates then let me know in the comments and I can do a full video tutorial.

    What a beautiful arrangement in an interesting container. Watched this during out winter in Tasmania thinking of the roses to come in the summer.

    Love this. Worried that sunflowers were too tricky to work with but will give this a try. Thanks for your videos. Love your Basic Classes.

    Lovely design and colours as usual. From my point of view, might have been useful to see filling in with foliage so that shape wouldn’t be compromised. Maybe add anything extra like bottle as a separate item at the end. Thank you, Sharon 🌸

    • @sharondower
      @sharondower  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Angela. I always think it's boring to the viewer to watch the filling in process. I've just added to the focal area and back to cover the foam. No extra foliage has been added in anywhere else.

    This was a great Asymmetrical design. I have a work colleague retiring soon, so this ticks all the boxes for her leaving present with a gift.
    Just one question - would the old cuts of foam which are being used as an anchor not dry out quicky or are they put in dry at the beginning? Just wondering if the dry foam would dry out the main piece quicker?

    • @sharondower
      @sharondower  2 роки тому

      Hi Susan. Thanks for watching and what a great question. The old foam is still wet, not old enough that it's dried out. But you've made a very valid point. Hope that makes sense.

      @@susanpowell8966 I often keep the wet off cut of the floral foam for this purpose. They always come in handy for filling gaps and wedging in the foam

    Nice arrangement Sharon, enjoyed this tutorial very much. But how would you secure the bottle into the arrangement for delivery please? Would you use shorter sticks, taped on (like they do with candles for instance) & to insert into the foam?

      Hi Janine. I didn't plan to add the bottle which is why I don't explain the construction, it was an afterthought. I would have cut a section out of the floral foam so the bottle is supported from all around. If anyone wants to see a tutorial, then let me know.

    • @kockjannie261
      @kockjannie261 2 роки тому +1

      @@sharondower thank you for explaining how you would have secured the bottle. I had understood it was an afterthought from the beginning of the tutorial, but just had to ask the question. I very much appreciate how you interact with the people who ask questions or just comment, it is a great way to stay close to your subscribers like me, who are so interested in what you teach.
